24.01.2022 Travel agents have been one of the industries most impacted by COVID-19. We know the Federal Government's international border closures will continue to severel...y impact these businesses for some time to come. That’s why we’re ensuring Western Australian travel agents will be able to access support to help sustain their businesses as they deal with the impacts of COVID-19. The initial rollout of the program will provide packages of up to $5,000 to eligible home-based agents and minimum $10,000 packages to eligible brick-and-mortar businesses. The program is in addition to the State Government's existing COVID-19 support measures for small businesses. Western Australia is the first and only State in the country to implement a dedicated travel agent support program of this kind.

21.01.2022 Advice for Travel to New Zealand From 31 August 2020, it is mandatory to wear a face mask/covering on public transport. The alert level in Auckland will also move to level 2. The remainder of New Zealand will remain at alert level 2. You can transit Auckland International Airport if your transit is no longer than 24 hours and you must stay in the transit area. Some travellers will be required to pay for managed isolation on arrival. New bookings on flights to and from Australia with Air New Zealand are currently on hold, due to the caps on the number of passengers allowed into both countries.

21.01.2022 A TRAVEL BUBBLE BETWEEN AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND IS MOST LIKELY STILL AROUND SIX MONTHS AWAY, ACCORDING TO AIR NEW ZEALAND CEO GREG FORAN. The comments came as Prime Minister Scott Morrison said in a press conference that the government is working to get more Australians home by opening up travel between Australia and New Zealand. Last Thursday, Morrison announced an easing of the cap on international arrivals to help Australians stuck overseas.... New South Wales will take an additional 500 returned travellers from 27 October, and Queensland and Western Australia will be taking an additional 200, with WA promising to take an extra 500 a week by 11 October. According to ABC News, Queensland will then take an additional 300 per week after 5 October and South Australia has already agreed to boost its capacity for international travellers by 360 each week. This would bring the number of Australians allowed to return home from 4,000 to almost 6,000. Another way we’ll be able to help more Australians get home is we’re working to ensure that New Zealanders can come to Australia, and Australians can return to Australia from New Zealand without the need to go through quarantine if they’re not coming from an area where there is an outbreak of COVID-19, Morrison said. For example, the whole of the South Island is an area where there is no COVID. And so if we can get to the situation soon where those coming home from New Zealand are able to enter Australia without going into a 14-day quarantine in a hotel, or in the worst-case scenario, only having to do that in their home, then what that does is that frees up places in our hotel quarantine system. However, Foran said he doesn’t believe international travel will return this year. It’s hard to believe it would be before March next year and could well be longer. If it comes back quicker, we’re going to pop some champagne, he told the The Sydney Morning Herald.

06.01.2022 This is what it’s like RIGHT NOW for Australia’s 4 000+ retail travel agencies. In March business ground to a halt from one week to the next as borders closed, as people cancelled all their future travel arrangements and stopped booking any new ones. People are banned from leaving their State or from entering another State and are banned from leaving Australia at all. 11.5 million Australians took an overseas trip last year. That’s almost one in every two people and 80% of t...hose booked some or all of their travel arrangements with a travel agent. This crisis has crushed many businesses but no part of this industry has been more dramatically impacted than the travel agency sector. Most State governments have recognised this with small business assistance packages, which many agents have accessed. But these are largely exhausted and we need the help of the Federal Government to get through to 2021. Just as the Federal Government has provided assistance to the aviation industry ($1.2bn) to the film and television industry ($400 million), to the arts and entertainment industry ($250m), to the construction industry ($688m) we need help while we work for nothing trying to recover billions owed to consumers from international airlines, cruise ship companies and tour operators. It’s about supporting small business, about supporting jobs and about having a viable distribution industry, when borders do open up again and effective vaccines have been distributed.

06.01.2022 Well officially back in the office, since 25 March! Sorting out refunds & cancellations, that are happening very slowly. With state & international borders (no it's not boarders!), closed for an extended period of time & with no anticipated opening dates for either, future bookings, for the moment are non existent

Bali has originally planned on reopening its borders for international tourism starting next month but had not received the go signal from the Indonesian governm...ent.
