25.01.2022 Weve just fallen to the other side of Winter Solstice which means were deep into slow cooking territory. But just because were slow cooking, meat doesnt always need to star. In this tagine recipe lamb plays second fiddle to gorgeous @wapotatoes_ . Head to the link below for Potato, Lamb and Date Tagine . 24.01.2022 Nothing like a toasted sandwich when the wind is howling outside! Just make sure youre quick. This bad boy is crusty baguette layered with bacon, cheddar, sweet smoked tomatoes and fresh basil to cut through all the richness. Swipe left for all the angles! 24.01.2022 When Perth serves up the cold weather, My answer is a soul warming Shepherds Pie. I had a gorgeous @princi_butchers leg of lamb left over after a recent styling job and even though it had been sitting out on the bench for a few hours I just couldnt part with it. I knew it would need a good cook through just to be safe but I was wary of drying it out by reheating it in the oven. Eventually I decided Id remove the meat off the bone, add a truckload of veggies and some beans and top it with delicious sliced @wapotatoes_ . Voila.... Shepherds Pie. There are so many takes on the classic recipe which is the ultimate way to use up whats on hand, but if this image grabs you, I have added the recipe, step by step, above in my Highlights. Put your own spin on it and may it warm your cockles! X

15.01.2022 My hubby planted a veggie garden during Covid..like everyone else . Its wild and organic. Theres weeds and caterpillars... self seeded rocket and a few pretty flowers clinging to their piece of the patch. I just wanted to share with you all how much I love being able to wander out for some green leaves as needed, pull up a sweet fennel bulb or pick some sugar snaps off the trellis. You dont much space to create your own piece of dirt that keeps on giving. Rocket, parsley and Cos are super easy to grow. Treat them mean and theyll go crazy for you. For more pics of my little garden head to Stories.. Go green people x

14.01.2022 Its Brussel Sprout season and Im here to tell you there is more than one way to serve up these beauties. Firstly dont overcook them! Steam or roast until al dente (not grey and soggy) and add them to salad, pasta dishes, roast meals or toss them through a rice pilaf. These baby brassicas are great friends with lemon, butter, bacon, toasted nuts, cheese and balsamic. If you look closely youll see they have been tossed through a salad with roasted pecans and sourdough crostini by in this pic taken at a class I taught @appleroomperth with health guru @kristenpavezhealth. What do you do with your Brussel sprouts? @damien.crocker @ The Apple Room
14.01.2022 Its 6 bloody degrees this morning.... and I want to dive head first into this bowl of Pork, Fennel and Sourdough Soup. During this Covid crisis there has been a lovely resurgence of sourdough culture, so I know some of you have day old bread hanging around. I can promise this is going to be one of the best ways you could possibly use it. This recipe is an oldie and definitely a goodie. Head to the link in my bio for full details and dive in. 14.01.2022 Hot Cross Bundt with spiced sugar topping. Its gross.. you guys wouldnt like it. Happy Easter to all my food loving friends. If this isnt a day to enjoy great eating with your loved ones I dont know when is. Big love and even bigger Easter Eggs all round. xx @ Fremantle, Western Australia
13.01.2022 I came across this pic while wandering through the archives. It totally sums up how I work with food. Im very tactile and hands on when I cook and create. I usually have a tea towel slung over one shoulder and wash my hands consistently throughout the prep and cook because they get covered in whatever Im working with. My hands hands are my favourite part of my body. They are covered in sun damage and starting to look old from so many years of kitchen work and dish washing (poor Cinderella ) but they have been my most valuable work tool. I dont like wearing gloves because I cant get the same fine detail when I do (or maybe I just like getting messy!) Anyway thanks @damien.crocker for grabbing this lovely snap at a workshop at @appleroomperth.

12.01.2022 Tuscan Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese and Olive Oil Icing...@greatsoutherngroves produces Tuscan style olive oil, fruity and aromatic with a light peppery aftertaste. When it came to creating a cake with this gorgeous product it was only fair to pay homage. The recipe will drop on Great Southern Groves feed soon so make sure you follow them in preparation. It promises fennel seeds, orange infused oil, almonds and rosemary. A very adult situation indeed. #carrotcake #oliveoil #tuscan Recipe and Styling @kateflowerfood Image @harrietharcourt

12.01.2022 Im very lucky to have access to beautiful Shark Bay Wild seafood from @northernstaroceanproducts who have an outlet just a stroll away. They have just had their first catch of King and Tiger prawns delivered in store so I have pulled an image from the vaults to celebrate. This Prawn Saganaki is a simple Greek dish usually made with fish.. but its glorious with prawns too. Crack open the Ouzo and try a version of this beauty on the weekend. I will be. 11.01.2022 Make once.. then use multiple times in a range of ways! I love the gift that keeps on giving and the Roast Cherry and Strawberry Compote from my eBook is just that. You can spoon liberally onto a chocolate layer cake or load it on top of a ripe Brie as pictured. It would be amaze balls on scones, with quality vanilla ice cream or with a roast turkey. Make it, gift it and put it to great uses. For the recipe and other delicious inspo head to the eBook link in my bio. 08.01.2022 When Im hanging around @gilbertshilton (I mean working hard with the team!) I cant help but grab a few snaps of whatever market fresh produce is most eye catching on the shelves which bulge daily with seasonal fruit and veg. 06.01.2022 Chocolate or Lemon... My answer is BOTH . If you think Mum might appreciate a home baked cake on Mothers Day why not give one of these a whirl. Both cake recipes can be found on @greatsoutherngroves website and feature their stunning Great Southern olive oil. I just had my 20 litre tub delivered to my door. We drizzle, slap, rub and shake olive oil across everything at home so this is a great way to keep the price down without having to buy cheap and lesser quality imported oil. Go to my Stories to see the big tub and contact deets. Recipe and styling @kateflowerfood Image @harrietharcourt

02.01.2022 Discovering jobs gone by... I love working with a client to tell a great story around their product. As I always say, there is so much more to a jam than just fruit and sugar. Who makes it... what drives them... how can you use the product.... where do they source their ingredients from...??? You get the idea. Sometimes business owners are so wrapped up in the day day details of getting the job done that they need help to revisit all the beauty and interest in what they deliver.
