25.01.2022 Dreaming of faraway weekends.

25.01.2022 Things have been pretty quiet in the studio over the past few months, but I have been working on a little something for Flora Hill Quality Meats. Collaborating with small local businesses is what I love about my job. Creating unique image banks that best represent their product and vision. And now, more than ever, it’s important to not only shop local, but to know just where it is that your food comes from.

22.01.2022 Early morning activity in Harcourt Valley’s picturesque @lomevineyard . There really is something special about the buzz of vintage at first light. On this day it was hearing the worker’s happy chatter floating through the sun’s first rays as millions of little berries waited to be transformed into something fabulous in a bottle.

22.01.2022 Wishing one of Bendigo’s best (who aren’t just clients, but fab friends too) a very happy 8th birthday . Thanks Percy and Percy for your ongoing support and allowing me to capture your beautiful little cafe year in, year out. The PP team should be congratulated for rolling with each and every punch 2020 served up. You all pivoted better than any ballerina I know . ... And for those reading this that are still stuck for Christmas gift ideas - pop along to the cafe and create your own hamper filled with the goodness that is Percy and Percy.

21.01.2022 Smile and the whole world smiles with you. Memories of this time last year when I was collecting colour and memories in beautiful Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. Spam alert - over the next week or two, I’ll be filling my feed with Indian images that please my eye.

21.01.2022 New year. New beginnings. And for many, new career opportunities. So tell me, what does your profile pic say about you? Spending time getting to know my clients prior to shooting not only gives me a better insight to their true personality, it also helps them relax. And the result? Well, they speak for themselves. Exhibit A Hayley of Proactive Finance Group.... Have you had your profile updated recently?

21.01.2022 Still life in Sutton Grange.

20.01.2022 This chap probably has better connectivity than I do. I mean, who isn’t plugged in these days? If I’m honest, I’d love to be living the simpler life, and not such a slave to technology. In fact the darkroom was a massive factor for my falling in love with photography. And when I started out as a cadet photojournalist 27 years ago, newspapers were still shooting in black and white with a full hand process. Oh, those were the days...

20.01.2022 At this point of 2020 I’m flat out trying to remember what day of the week it is. But guess what? The kids never forget when it’s Friday and neither does Ms Batterhams . Here’s a massive YAY for Friday’s virtual Batty Hour and the fabulous Ellis - cocktail class leader and mixologist extraordinaire.

19.01.2022 With the lockdown and winter on the way , Ms Batterhams have got your evening meal comfort food for the family sorted. Born from the madness of our current situation, Winnie on Wheels offers oven ready family meals like this delicious Wagyu beef and burgundy pie (serves 4). Swipe left for a little peek of some delicious Cassoulet and a charcuterie tray. And guess what? You can grab an Ellis Wines wine to go too. Winning!! ... https://winnieonwheels.square.site

19.01.2022 Right place. Right time. Reacting to a situation is my favourite way to shoot. No frills. No fuss. Just the documentation of a moment in time that allows a story to be told with pictures. ... These are skills I acquired during my training as a cadet photojournalist over 25 years ago, and ones that I draw upon regularly in my work as a freelance photographer. Earlier this month during a walk exploring Avalon’s Pittwater with my camera, I happened across a young couple who had just become engaged at the end of a jetty. After taking some scenic shots of the little area known as Paradise Beach, I approached the happy couple and offered my congratulations. I then asked if anyone had captured the milestone. No? Well then, can I help you with that? This little series is the result. Honest images that will last a lifetime. And the best part? Aside from kick of carrying out a random act of kindness, it’s the knowledge that my skills have brought joy to others. Because all too often when I’ve documented my travels, there hasn’t been an opportunity to exchange contact details with my subjects. It really did make my heart sing to know my little encounter has brought joy to the happy couple, Chloe and Ben. @ Avalon Beach, New South Wales

18.01.2022 1am April 5, 2021. The moon rises over the Campaspe under the watchful eye of The Milky Way. For 20 years Easter has provided my little family with the time to connect with special friends. How lucky we are that this has been the backdrop.... Wherever you spent your Easter break, I hope it was filled with as much love and joy as mine.

17.01.2022 It’s been a hectic week, what with road trips to Melbourne and the Central Goldfields region for various shoots. So it’s fair to say I’m really looking forward to celebrating a friend’s 50th tonight Mackenzie Quarters . Maybe I’ll even enjoy a sneaky little cocktail, just like the lovely ladies from Soho Boutique did last weekend during Ms Batterhams 1st birthday celebrations. Happy Friday folks and may your weekend be as fabulous as these ladies pictured here .

17.01.2022 Oh how I love styling and shooting product for clients . But it’s so much more special when that client isn’t just a friend, but your brother of Notts Timber Design . Covid has has been nothing short of a nightmare for many businesses (particularly us Victorians), but two upsides combined have been the increased demand for Australian made from local online stores. As with the entire Notts Timber Design essential kitchen range, the salad servers pictured were individually han...dcrafted from Australian timbers Huon Pine, Blackwood, Red Gum and my fave, Blackheart Sassafras. Ticking a lot of boxes here... Australian timber Australian made Australian owned See more

16.01.2022 The colour of summer in Australia . Need a little escape to the country? Well it won’t be long until @ravenswood_tiny_house launches on Airbnb, meaning you could wake to views like this. Jump on over to their page and follow the journey.

15.01.2022 Not sure where summer has gone today . But this pink champagne and exotic fruits candle, made locally by Refresh Day Spa, sure smells and looks like summer to me. Perfect last minute gift for Chrissy too .

14.01.2022 Morning family activity on the street within the walled city of Jaipur, Rajasthan. I love to capture life as it happens, documenting moments in time. It’s possibly the pre-covid aspect of travel that I miss the most. India dreaming...

14.01.2022 A little bit of loveliness from my in-law’s garden. Oh how I love Magnolias .

14.01.2022 Baby it’s cold outside... Sunday’s chilly weather didn’t put a dampener on Jen and Joe’s engagement shoot. The sun even managed to make a brief appearance too. I hope you enjoy your little sneak peek Jen .

14.01.2022 I’d love to know what the joke was. I’m a massive advocate for honest and relaxed family portraits at the best of times, but capturing precious family moments like these has never been more important than it is right now. Just a few weeks after this extended family shoot, Melbourne was locked down, again. Isolation can be a lonely time, so it’s humbling to know that my images have brought comfort and joy to family members isolating considerable distances from each other.... So let me ask you this When was the last time your family was photographed? Go on, put it on your to do list.

13.01.2022 Perfect weather for cocktails. They taste even better when it’s a celebration. Happy 1st birthday Ms Batterhams . And what a year it’s been... definitely time to celebrate . If you’re in Bendigo this weekend, make sure you pop by and join in on the fun. The cocktails are seriously good .

12.01.2022 Beautiful blooms to celebrate regional Victoria’s blooming good news. Sorry my metro friends, but hopefully you’ll be joining the party soon.

12.01.2022 I’ve been revisiting 1,000’s of photos of late, many of which have never seen the light of day. So it would seem it’s time to play, This time last year. Over the coming weeks and months, I’ll be popping up images on my feed that not only make me happy, but will act to remind me that there is a big wide world beyond COVID-19. And where was I this time last year? ... That would have been working in Bali with an amazing bunch of women. See more

12.01.2022 This year’s must have made an appearance in the studio last week. Created by Central Victorian family owned and operated business, @eucalyptusoilcobathlane The Australian Eucalyptus Oil Company’s hand sanitizer has a permanent place in both my car and handbag (and yes, it smells and feels as good as it looks).

11.01.2022 It’s National Dog Day and time to celebrate our furry little friends . Rosie is a Dogs Connect well-being dog at St John of God Bendigo Hospital who spends hers days spreading the love amongst health care workers. Her main goal is to help reduce stress and increase happiness. I think that would be a walk in the park for her .

11.01.2022 Between shifts at Amer Fort (also known as Amber Fort), just out of Jaipur, Rajasthan. I’ll be India dreaming over coming weeks, reminiscing of travels pre-covid. Did you know that my limited images are available for sale in a size of your choice? DM for further info.

11.01.2022 Simple pleasures and happiness from within really do make a face shine. This happy cyclist and his passenger were captured on the road to Abhaneri, Rajasthan. Pre-covid of course!! Indian dreaming...

07.01.2022 Landscape or cloudscape - you decide. Either way, I’m loving all the different shapes and angles in this capture of Tellurian Wines Heathcote . Some things just look better in black and white.

06.01.2022 Imagine an Easter without chocolate. If you’re a Bendigonian, pop over to Indulge Fine Belgian Chocolates to avoid said nightmare. Temporary store closure will take place on Friday, if not before. FYI, I’ve already filled my little nest with lots of chocolate goodness. Phew .

03.01.2022 I’m just going to leave this here. This is the road that takes us to our annual Easter camping adventure. 2020 was supposed to be the 20th anniversary of enjoying the slow life outdoors with dear friends and growing families. 2021 is going to be a great celebration indeed.

03.01.2022 Espresso martini anyone? Covid cocktail classes bring some serious end-of-work-home-school-week joy thanks to Ellis and Rhianwen of Ms Batterhams. Jump on over to Ms Batterhams for the Happy Batty Hour list and Facebook live link.

01.01.2022 Sparkling like 1000’s of diamonds. Did you know that I sell limited edition prints of my work? And better still, you can choose the print size, and frame if you please, too. I think this would look fabulous as an oversized print. Agree???... DM for further details.

01.01.2022 Alert Alert International Chocolate Day is upon us. If you’re in the Bendigo area, pop on into @indulgechocolates for some serious (socially distanced) deliciousness. Mmm mmmmm. Who doesn’t love a little chocolate frog or two (or more ). @ Indulge Fine Belgian Chocolates

01.01.2022 A massive shout out to this amazing woman , one who is literally worth her weight in wine. At a time when travel agents and advisors are at absolute rockbottom, Sara of Make It Travel has been a shining star. My mum is in India on a tiger retreat safari. An adventure not to be forgotten. But when DFAT made last night’s call that all Australians should return home as soon as possible, Sara was on the phone to me straight away with the alert and just as quickly she contacted ...Singapore Airlines. For a good two and a half hours she sat on hold, and then made the necessary arrangements to get mum, and her travel companions, on the next achievable available flight to Australia and then emailed through confirmed itinerary at 11.30pm. Now that’s service above and beyond, and it’s why I support sole traders and small business. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you Sara. You really are a star. And to everyone else, please support local businesses wherever you are. We all need it now more than ever before. See more

01.01.2022 Early morning autumn light = beautiful. Who says a landscape has to be green to be gorgeous? Not me, that’s for sure. Many of my prints are available for limited edition sale. DM for more info.

01.01.2022 Let’s be honest, 2020 was a challenging year to be working as a photographer, so it was nice to wrap it up with a little warm and fuzzy. Welcome to the world little William. How wonderful it is to be celebrating your life in a fresh new year.
