23.01.2022 Repurposed stool/side table! It was recently hard rubbish week in my neighbourhood and I found and old stool (see last 2 pics) on the side of the road. I had been looking for one to do up as a fun project, I used Birdseye Huon pine with acrylic for the top, cleaned up and re sprayed the metal and added new feet. #kateofarrelldesign #tassiedesignedandmade #hardrubbish #recycle

22.01.2022 Hello, I’m sorry I haven’t posted in a while. Unfortunately I found our earlier this year I have arthritis in my clavicle. For those who have arthritis you know how debilitating that can be. For those who don’t, it sucks! Being in my clavicle some of my woodwork has been effected. At this point I can’t use my lathe properly so that means I can’t make bowls or droplets, especially plywood and acrylic ones. I haven’t given up, there are still plenty of things I can make and wi...ll make, it just takes me a bit longer to complete orders. I will be posting some pictures of the new things I’ve been making as well as working hard to get the strength back in my arm to hopefully one day use the lathe again. 07.01.2022 Charlie and I would like to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday period, even if you are just celebrating the end of 2020! 05.01.2022 I went back in the workshop today after a little holiday Here’s a coffee table I made for my parents for their shack for Christmas. It’s Tas oak and acrylic finished in a gloss varnish. 02.01.2022 I’ve been wanting to make a really serviceable kitchen board for ages. One you don’t have to put away because it looks nice enough to keep on the bench or table. This board is made from Tas oak and 4.5mm acrylic, it’s about 400mm long, 270mm wide and 30mm thick. To get the angles and shapes I wanted I flipped the last two joins, this means the grain runs the other way at the ends. I’ve made smaller boards like this before but I’m really happy with the way it’s turned out. I think the different grain direction works well on the bigger scale. #kateofarrelldesign #tasdesigned #boards #tasoakacrylic
