23.01.2022 Introducing (half of) the ‘Melbourne Jumper’! I was going to keep the colour a secret but... I suck at keeping secrets so here she is!! This pattern was originally going to be made in a super chunky yarn, but after a lot of trial and error I decided it just wasn’t the best option. The sample I made weighed a tonne and I hadn’t even added the sleeves yet Perfect if you live in Antarctica but not so much in everyday life I was inspired to call this pattern the Melbourne... Jumper because I have never been prouder to live in this amazing city! We have come so far over that past few months, and I just know we are going to come out even better on the other side! My vision for this jumper was always something that would be worn out to coffee or brunch on a Sunday morning, and let’s be honest, there’s nothing that says ‘Melbourne’ more than brunch and great coffee! Stay tuned for the finished jumper and pattern coming soon! And if you’d like the opportunity to test this pattern, head to the link in my bio and fill in the application form! If you’ve registered to be a tester before there’s no need to register again #melbournejumper #longlivecrochet

20.01.2022 Yes, my mirror’s dirty - but I’m proud of my Flax Sweater ok?! I cannot believe I’m actually doing it! I’m knitting my first ever jumper - something I never ever thought I would be able to do! Since beginning my knitting journey (for the 62527 time) I have learnt SO much and am actually really enjoying it! I already can’t wait for my next project If you could leave me your favourite KNIT patterns (preferably garments) and/ or designers in the comments below I would be forever grateful! Nothing too complicated please I’m still learning #flaxsweater

18.01.2022 Sooo my best friend @jaygray___ and I decided we should buy skates the other day, because why not?! Mine arrived today and look at them!!! Little bit of a back story - I find it almost impossible to stick to a fitness routine. I can’t stand going to the gym or pointless walking/ running (what a waste of time) I used to rollerblade when I was younger and bloody loved it!! Could not get enough. I even had one of my birthday parties at Skate Haven - the local skating rink... where I used to live, and I won skate limbo. Don’t know how I remember this So I thought maybe this could be a fun way to get my a$$ off the couch Rather than spamming you all on here, @jaygray___ and I are going to document our progress on our new Instagram account (@jessandkate.skate) and Tik Tok (same name)!! If you think you might be interested in some cracking videos of us falling ass over tit we would love you to follow! Wish us luck!! #jessandkateskate

17.01.2022 Pattern writing is my happy place! There’s nothing more rewarding than taking an idea from your head and turning it into a real life thing! Something you can enjoy, use, look at, or in my case wear! If you’ve ever wondered what goes in to designing a crochet pattern, part two of my ‘How To Design A Crochet Pattern’ video series is now live on my YouTube channel! In this video series I take you through my entire design process from start to finish, and give you an insig...ht into what goes on in this mind of mine (besides thinking about what my next meal will be ). Click the link in my bio and go to ‘Newest YouTube Video’ to check it out #longlivecrochet

16.01.2022 @the_oodie on New design on the hook I’m set for the rest of the afternoon! I can’t wait to finish this design! I’m not even half way through yet and I love it already I’ve designed this jumper using the @lionbrandyarn Hometown USA which is a ‘super bulky’ weight yarn. I’m thinking of doing ANOTHER version in an Aran weight yarn and offering both patterns What do you guys think? Would you like to see this pattern in an Aran weight yarn aswell? Let me know!#longlivecrochet

15.01.2022 So I’ve been thinking! As much as I loooove this design I would love to do a version in a lighter weight yarn for those of us who live in warmer climates! I’m working on releasing The Melbourne Jumper pattern in a DK/ 8 ply yarn, but I have a question for y’all! Would you prefer both patterns to be included in the one file (therefore increasing the price of the pattern) OR would you prefer the option to purchase one or the other? The original was written using an Aran wei...ght/ 10 ply yarn and works up super chunky and squishy (perfect for cold winter days), the new version would be lighter and more suitable for spring/ autumn Let me know what you guys think! #melbournejumper #longlivecrochet

15.01.2022 Do you ever feel like you were born in the wrong era? If I could go back and choose, it would be the 70’s every time!! Mostly for the fashion If you could choose an era to grow up in what would it be? I was getting alllll of the 70s vibes from this hotel room so I had to take a pic Here’s me working on the 10K Cardi! Coming very soon! #10kcardi #longlivecrochet

13.01.2022 I loved designing this pattern so much! If you followed along with my pattern writing videos on YouTube you would have seen that it was a bit of a journey but I finally got there! The Melbourne Jumper is beginner friendly (like SUPER beginner friendly), works up really quickly and has ultimate squish factor making it extra warm and cosy Inclusivity and timelessness are always my priority when designing so of course the Melbourne Jumper is completely timeless and comes... in 9 different sizes - XS to 5XL! I hope you all love this pattern as much as I do! I can’t wait to see your makes #longlivecrochet #melbournejumper

If you’re new to this little community of ours - WELCOME!! We are so happy to have you! One of the things I’m frequently asked is - ‘Where do I start if I want to learn how to crochet?’. Well, ask no more! I have put together a video that takes you through everything you need to know BEFORE you... start learning to crochet! In this video I touch on selecting the right yarn and hook, how to hold your hook and the differences between U.S and U.K crochet terms (and why it is so important to choose ONE before you start crocheting) Click here to watch https://youtu.be/jazV_BHpTB4 #longlivecrochet

12.01.2022 10K Cardi Ok guys I’m obsessed and I’m not even half way Our 10K Cardi is coming along fabulously and I actually cannot believe it’s taken me this long to learn/ use the Alpine Stitch in one of my designs. 06.01.2022 2020 - what a year! This year has been less than ideal for all of us but has taught me so many lessons! In a way I feel as though covid has forced many of us to reevaluate our lives and think deeply about what is really important to us. Here are a few things 2020 has taught me... To never take time with your loved ones for granted, To never take your freedom for granted... If what you’re doing isn’t making you happy - do something else! Life is too short to be miserable and literally anything is possible if you just keep going! And finally - your mental health is no joke. If you’re struggling, get help or talk to someone you love Moving into 2021 my biggest goals are HAPPINESS and to spend more time doing things I am passionate about rather than doing things that give me no fulfilment just because I feel like I have to. What are your 2021 goals? I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support over the past year, and to wish you all a safe and happy new year! See you next year #2021 @ Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
