25.01.2022 Bush walk + rock pooling + late swim =

25.01.2022 Some days in the office are better than others

25.01.2022 Keep an eye - and ear - out for some impressive displays overhead this week to farewell the Hornet

24.01.2022 Finally, the NSW government has made masks mandatory for Greater Sydney residents at public indoor settings. Whilst this new health order does not apply to Port Stephens or the Hunter, we have many tourists visiting us and we have a particularly vulnerable population. Please continue to go about your business with an abundance of caution and get tested if you have any COVID symptoms.

24.01.2022 Raymond Terrace is ready for the weekend

24.01.2022 No cases of COVID-19 in NSW for the second day in a row

24.01.2022 Pauline Hanson's One Nation Party, the NSW Nationals are all yours.

24.01.2022 Remember when the Liberal government promised $188m to build the Fingal Bay Link Road? They said they’d done their homework and it was ‘essential’. It wasn’t believable then, now we know for sure it wasn’t true. Just recently, some homework’s been done and two other sensible options are being considered.... Wherever this lands, the promised $188m should stay in Port Stephens. Have a look and have your say here https://www.rms.nsw.gov.au//nelson-bay-road-fingal-bay-lin

22.01.2022 If you missed last week’s opening, don’t worry. Head to the Artisan Collective Port Stephens today at 2pm to hear a ‘conversation’ with artist and mental health advocate, Ashleigh Price alongside other esteemed panellists.

22.01.2022 Witnessing citizenship ceremonies is wonderful. Hearing people’s stories is even better. Alongside many others, today there was Sasha the circus perfomer from Belarus now living in Anna Bay and Inigo from the Phillipines now a chef at The Anchorage. ... Check out Sasha’s ring inscribed officially Aussie especially for today Congratulations one and all

21.01.2022 REACH OUT & RECONNECT This year has been been rough. Many people are doing it tough. And as we head towards Christmas, the pressure’s likely to rise. ... So, this month, I’m asking everyone to: reach out if they need support check-in with family, friends & neighbours reconnect with community support local businesses Keep an eye out in the Port Stephens Examiner and on social media over the next few weeks as we share the services and supports available in Port Stephens. We want everyone to understand that, in our beautiful community, there’s always somewhere to turn.

21.01.2022 As Shadow Minister for Rural Health, today I heard from residents of Dubbo, Wellington, Cobar and surrounding towns and their message was loud and clear. The health system is failing country communities and they desperately need it to change. NSW Nurses and Midwives' Association... HSU NSW See more

21.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who has added their voice to the campaign to stop the clearing of critical koala habitat at Brandy Hill. Your efforts have made the Minister visit, and realise how much our koalas matter. But the odds are still against us stopping the project. So the campaign is far from over, the Minister’s decision’s still due by 13 October. ... Until then, let’s keep fighting for our furry friends #saveportstephenskoalas #stopbrandyhill

21.01.2022 Well said Giacomo Arnott - Port Stephens Councillor. The residents of the Tilli Peninsula desperately need action, not more words.

20.01.2022 The NSW Nurses and Midwives' are standing up and fighting back At a rally today in Newcastle, nurses spoke of unsafe staffing levels, unsafe work conditions and an insulting pay offer. The Liberal National government must start valuing and respecting the critical work nurses do. ... Because nurses care too much to accept less.

20.01.2022 REACH OUT & RECONNECT Today, I hosted a mental health roundtable in Raymond Terrace alongside the NSW Shadow Minister for Mental Health Tara Moriarty MLC. Representatives from local services, businesses, unions and community discussed the rising need and lack of resources - all services are stretched to their limit. ... Thank you to these organisations for sharing their experiences today and supporting our community every day: Yacaaba Centre Interrelate COPSY jupiter Australia Tomaree Neighbourhood Centre Port Stephens Community Drug Action Team Port Stephens Family and Neighbourhood Services Providence Medical Nelson Plaza Clinic Port Stephens Suicide Prevention Network I’m more resolved than ever to make the government treat our community with the respect it deserves.

19.01.2022 When is enough, enough??

19.01.2022 It’s clear the Berejiklian-Barilaro Government is still bitterly divided over land clearing laws. The Premier’s political fix has fixed nothing. The Liberals and Nationals are still at war with each other and koalas are collateral damage. Serious questions remain over the stability of this government.

18.01.2022 Thank goodness the Electoral Commission entirely ignored the Liberal Party’s attempt to carve up and divide our community. Instead of trying to change the boundaries to win back the seat of Port Stephens, the government should adequately fund our schools, hospitals and homelessness services. They could even get started on the Nelson Bay Road and M1 upgrades that were promised years ago and still haven’t even begun. ... We don’t ask much of the Berejiklian government - keep your promises, do your job and don’t try to remove Nelson Bay from Port Stephens again

18.01.2022 The mental health system is broken. When families desperately need support, they can’t find it. When local mental health services are doing important work, they can’t get funding to continue.... We need a royal commission to help fix the system to save people’s lives.

18.01.2022 Thank goodness we have Port Stephens Koalas new sanctuary as our last line of defence. But it’d be a big help if the NSW government stopped approving the bulldozing of their habitat #saveportstephenskoalas #stopbrandyhill

18.01.2022 Watch NBN Television news & ABC News tonight for a story all about Port Stephens koalas - our new sanctuary and the battle to save their habitat at Brandy Hill

17.01.2022 Nelson Bay Road duplication - submissions close THIS Friday Three route options for the long-awaited duplication of Nelson Bay Road have been issued for community consultation. Yesterday, NSW Roads hosted an online Q&A - replay the session to hear answers to local concerns.... Submissions close this Friday, 27 November 2020 - be sure to have your say.

16.01.2022 Good morning 2021. It’s lovely to see you. Happy New Year everyone

16.01.2022 Last morning in Dubbo before heading back home. I’ve heard from communities who’ve lost faith in their local health system. From nurses who are feeling stressed, overwhelmed and compromised. From paramedics being pushed beyond their limits. From doctors who say the system has failed, so we must change the system. But the strongest message is this - they’re sick of being treated like second class citizens. ... Submissions for the Parliamentary inquiry into rural and regional health close on 13 December. So there’s still time to raise your voice, share your story and make a submission today https://www.parliament.nsw.gov.au//P/inquiry-details.aspx

15.01.2022 I have a small task for everyone this weekend To help save Port Stephens’ koalas, researchers from the The University of Newcastle, are asking all Port Stephens residents to complete an online survey. The more we know about our furry friends, the more chance of survival they have. ... Thank you for caring to take the time to complete & SHARE the survey https://faunaresearchalliance.com/fauna/projects/koala/

15.01.2022 Will they ever learn?

15.01.2022 It was great to catch-up with Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Surf Life Saving Club members today - big and small! This thriving club was a hive of activity, with their nippers program going strong and many members patrolling a busy beach. For years, they’ve also been working hard to upgrade their clubhouse - I’ll have more news on that soon. ... For now, a huge thank you to all of the members at all of our surf life saving clubs, for their hard work on even the hottest days, keeping our beaches safe Ping: Hunter Surf Lifesaving, Surf Life Saving NSW

15.01.2022 Last night, I was delighted to host a round table on the barriers to women and girls participating in sport at all levels - playing, coaching, umpiring and organising. It was great to have Shadow Minister for Sport Lynda Voltz MP, Liesl Tesch MP and Marjorie O’Neill - Member for Coogee in town to lead this important conversation. Huge thanks to the local sporting leaders who came and shared their experience and knowledge to help make positive change.

15.01.2022 According to the former NSW Auditor-General Tony Harris, unless ministerial standards have changed, the Premier Gladys Berejiklian should have resigned by now.

15.01.2022 Community collaboration is key to good outcomes and it was on display in spades in Tanilba yesterday. The Smith Family program ‘Communities for Children’ and its many community partners received a generous donation from Komatsu Australia. Through Komatsu’s ‘Live your dream’ charitable initiative, local families will soon have a safe, welcoming place to gather, learn and play. ... Thank you to Komatsu, and everyone involved, in helping children have a brighter future.

15.01.2022 REACH OUT AND RECONNECT Another great day at MarketPlace Raymond Terrace, connecting our community to supportive local services. Tomorrow’s our last day. If you need some help, please reach out.

15.01.2022 Well, we made it From today, my office’s door will be closed until Monday, 11 January. After this extraordinarily challenging year, I’m switching off to treasure time with my family. I hope you can too. ... From me, my team and Lakoa the koala, we wish you all a safe and peaceful Christmas (Many thanks to Oakvale Wildlife Park for the koala cuteness )

15.01.2022 Parenting fail or win After spending the last two weeks in Parliament in Sydney, I returned home to a shopping request from one of my teens for tinned pineapple...and lots of it. Why? ... For school lunch, every day, she’s been packing herself a tin of pineapple ‘Pineapple’ is her new nickname.

15.01.2022 They broke the historic Windsor Bridge It was built in 1874, withstood 86 floods but could not survive the heritage-hating, arrogant and out-of-touch Berejiklian-Barilaro government. Heartbreaking for the community who fought so hard for so long to protect our past and brighten our future.... They will never forget how their wishes were outrageously ignored by a government that knows the price of everything and the value of nothing. CAWB - Save Windsor from the RTA

14.01.2022 Yesterday’s news of zero COVID-19 cases was welcome. But if you think we’re through the worst of the health and economic crisis, think again. From today, the Federal government financial supports - JobKeeper & JobSeeker - will reduce. With many local families already under significant strain, there’s much more hardship ahead. ... Last week, I called on the Berejiklian government to ensure our frontline services have the resources they need to meet the need - because they’re already struggling. But we all have a role to play - stay kind, socially distance and look out for one another. And if you need help, please ask.

14.01.2022 The new school year has brought changes for many families in Medowie and surrounding communities. Bus routes and services have changed, students are travelling in all directions and a new school with interim traffic control arrangements are in place. Thank you to everyone who's raised their concerns with me. Your information has helped me to work with all stakeholders to support all students to get to and from school, safely and on time.

14.01.2022 Well done Medowie We’ve taken our first step tonight towards our makeover. Check out 7 Day Makeover Medowie and see how you can get involved. Let’s do this

14.01.2022 When an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) turns up in your letterbox, public recognition is warranted. Di Ball is the eyes, heart and soul of Raymond Terrace - helping catch people before they slip through the cracks. Thank you Di, for all you do for our community

14.01.2022 Seniors Festival is in full swing at Raymond Terrace Central. This week and next, there’s a wonderful program of speakers, including Port Stephens Hunter Police District ‘s Aged Crime Prevention Officer, Senior Constable Krystle Wilcox. Please don’t miss the Seniors Community Leaders Photography Exhibition, celebrating just some of . our very special seniors.

14.01.2022 This decision's an insult to workers and our economy.

14.01.2022 No tree no me The students at Soldiers Point Public School get it. Does Sussan Ley MP?... #saveportstephenskoalas #stopbrandyhill (Thanks for your koala awesomeness kids )

14.01.2022 Medowie Christian School is putting Medowie on the map It’s the first independent school in NSW offering distance education to students anywhere across the state. Well done to principal Simon Herd and his wonderful team for expanding the horizons of traditional learning.

13.01.2022 Tired of queuing at the missing link in peak periods? Sick of getting caught in holiday traffic when you're not on holidays? Well, we now have a finalised plan for the M1 extension, but still no timing for commencement of construction. It's time the missing link was no-longer missing.

12.01.2022 Merry Christmas

12.01.2022 Imagine having no choice but to spend Christmas in a refuge to escape family violence. Friends With Dignity Christmas Toy Drive 2020 is on again, bringing joy to families in these difficult circumstances. If you're able to support a child or parent living in refuge this Christmas, please purchase a gift and drop it off (unwrapped) to my office.

12.01.2022 In the era of COVID-19, did you know that local workers right here in Port Stephens have been manufacturing the disinfectants and sanitisers for aged care facilities, hospitals, airlines and many businesses across the country? Today, Meryl Swanson MP and I visited Whiteley Corporation in Tomago to thank the workers and find out about the company's expansion plans. We should all be very proud of these men and women.

12.01.2022 After a decade of delay and soaring power prices, the Berejiklian Government has finally come up with an energy plan. But it entirely ignores the three regions with the greatest number of jobs on the line in a decarbonising economy - the Hunter, Central Coast & Illawarra. It also makes no mention of local manufacturing. Given they’ve been buying up big from overseas for a decade, we shouldn’t be surprised. ... Labor believes that local manufacturers must be part of our energy plan, but the government wants to set up a meaningless ‘taskforce’ instead. Unless local jobs and manufacturing are locked into legislation, we cannot trust this government. #nswmade

12.01.2022 Having faced the environmental and economic consequences of drought, bushfires and COVID, rural and regional NSW desperately needs a boost. NSW Labor has a jobs plan for the bush which is a win win for the environment and farmers. If the Berejiklian government listened, we’d have people in jobs within 6 weeks in every corner of the state, improving biodiversity and reducing bushfire risk. ... Instead of clearing land, let’s improve it

12.01.2022 Great to be in Singleton today to support Jeff Drayton, Labor’s fantastic candidate for the Upper Hunter by-election. Jeff has lived and worked in the Upper Hunter for his whole life. He knows the importance of keeping jobs, creating jobs, and ensuring that young people have the opportunity to get a safe, secure and reliable job.... This by-election is an important opportunity for families in the Upper Hunter to have their voices heard. As a Hunter MP, and as a Shadow Minister, I’m backing Jeff 100%.

12.01.2022 Were you at Dutchman’s Beach Reserve two years ago, the day after Australia Day? If so, you may have some information that would help police. Police are appealing for information about an alleged sexual assault in Nelson Bay of an 11 year old girl on Sunday, January 27, 2019 between 11am to late afternoon. If you have any information - including any photographs, video recordings or dashcam footage - from Dutchmans Beach Reserve on that day please call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page: https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au.

11.01.2022 Every day, police undertake their duties expecting the unexpected. Every door they open presents a risk. Every job they take could change a life. Sometimes, it’s the families of police officers whose lives change forever after losing their loved one in the performance of their duties. ... Today, we honour the sacrifice of those men and women who’ve laid down their lives whilst serving our communities, and our heartfelt thoughts are with their families, friends and colleagues. And we thank everyone in the NSW Police Force for keeping our communities safe. Police Association of NSW

11.01.2022 Another $1.5 million ‘Swedish sauna’ was delivered on the back of a truck this week Just imagine the outcome that could have been achieved if the Berejiklian government had bothered to consult with community - a real police station in the right location.

10.01.2022 Early this year, I raised concerns about the risks of a blue-green algae outbreak in the Hunter’s drinking water supply with the Ministers for Water, Environment and Regional Transport. Every one of them ignored it. Now, we have a blue-green algae outbreak in Grahamstown Dam

10.01.2022 The Department of Education has owned land in Medowie since 1983 for the purpose of building a public high school. In the absence of any plan to build a public high school, is that land at risk of being flogged off by the Berejiklian Government? This week in Parliament, I called on the Education Minister to rule out selling off our kids' futures.

10.01.2022 REACH OUT AND RECONNECT The single biggest issue causing hardship in our community, is the lack of social and affordable housing. Some families endure the impossible task of waiting a decade for a home. ... Until the Berejiklian government funds more social housing in Port Stephens, the struggle to survive will continue for too many people. Thanks to Port Stephens Family and Neighbourhood Services for all they do to support families in crisis, and much thanks to the Port Stephens Examiner for supporting this week’s ‘Reach Out and Reconnect’ initiative.

10.01.2022 Isla says good morning from Port Stephens Koala Sanctuary - officially opening today!!

10.01.2022 Fake Facebook profiles, domain squatting, astro-turfing... These are all new terms to me, all introduced by the Nationals and Liberals. #grubby

09.01.2022 It’s been a long, hard road for the Karuah Rural Fire Brigade who have been working out of a station that was falling down around them. So after all their hard work protecting our community - and others across the state- it was awesome to be at the opening of their new station today. Well done to Captain Dave Feeney and former Captain Ken Smee for leading this small brigade with big hearts who now finally have a station that’s fit for purpose. ... Thank you to all of our local NSW Rural Fire Service volunteers for your selfless dedication

09.01.2022 ANZAC DAY IN PORT STEPHENS Like many on Anzac Day, I'll be commemorating the sacrifice of Australian men and women who have fought and died in war. First, I'll be attending the Dawn Service at Karuah which starts at 5.45am.... After that, I'll be at the Seaham Knitting Circle Memorial for their service beginning at 9am. Then, at 11am I'll be joining the Anzac Service at Raymond Terrace War Memorial. I hope you are able to make one of these services or find another closer to home. While there may be a reduced number of Anzac services in Port Stephens this year, there are still many ways you can pay tribute to our serving men and women, our veterans, and those who sacrificed their lives for our country. Lest we forget.

09.01.2022 Federal Member for Paterson Meryl Swanson MP and I recently joined local legend Geoffrey Basser to celebrate his Order of Australia Medal. Geoffrey's leadership of COPSY and jupiter Australia - "a space to talk" - has provided a much needed mental health service for our youth. Meryl and I will continue fighting for sustainable government funding for Jupiter. If you'd like to donate, or find out more about the service, visit: https://www.copsy.com.au/membership-support/

08.01.2022 How exciting!! I hope we get some local screenings to cheer on Salamander Bay’s Ashlyn for her movie debut

08.01.2022 The NSW Electoral Commission has found that Port Stephens is perfect just the way it is Draft maps out today show our electoral boundaries aren’t moving. The Liberal party’s attempt to gerrymander the seat has been completely ignored. Final maps will be issued early next year. For more info on other areas or the process, click here ... https://www.elections.nsw.gov.au//Proposed-boundaries-and-

08.01.2022 Students from St Brigids Primary School Raymond Terrace have sent me a copy of their awesome letters to Sussan Ley MP, who was in town today. These students are passionate about the environment and they care about koalas. Here’s hoping the Federal Environment Minister listens to these young Environment Ministers. Their voices are important & their message is clear: "Please protect the Port Stephens koalas before it’s too late.... Great work kids & thanks for sharing #saveportstephenskoalas #stopbrandyhill

07.01.2022 With more COVID-19 cases there are more New Years Eve restrictions for Greater Sydney. At this stage, there are no new restrictions for regional areas for New Years Eve. But the situation is worrying so please keep up to date with changing restrictions and alerts via NSW Health here ... https://www.health.nsw.gov.au//case-locations-and-alerts.a

07.01.2022 Terrible news today of a serious incident overnight which has left one of our local police officers with very serious injuries whilst serving our community. It’s reported the officer was hit by a trail bike when attempting to stop the rider at a Maitland intersection. The officer has multiple injuries including ‘multiple skull fractures, spine and arm injuries, pelvis fractures and leg fractures’.... I’m sure our entire community sends the officer and his family our strength and thoughts as they face the challenges ahead

07.01.2022 There were extraordinary scenes at yesterday’s opening of our amazing koala sanctuary. The Minister regaled us with the importance of koala habitat (which we all know). So he was asked how his government had approved and fast-tracked the clearing of critical koala habitat at Brandy Hill. ... His response? Sussan Ley MP should look at it closely (and yes, she should). But this is the problem - the Minister’s words do not match the reality of his own government’s destructive environmental policies and decisions.

06.01.2022 Good news! Well done to the team at the Koala Hospital Port Macquarie for this great initiative. Here’s hoping it breeds success that can be shared elsewhere

06.01.2022 *Warning: disturbing (and lengthy) content* I first met Marea Bourke years ago at Tomaree Lodge where she’d lived for many years. Marea’s non-verbal and is now 78. She’s the oldest person living with Angelman Syndrome in the world, her good health and longevity attributed to the quality of care she experienced at Tomaree Lodge.... Against her family’s wishes, Marea was ‘relocated’ to a group home in advance of the Coalition government’s closure of the Stockton Centre, Tomaree Lodge and Kanangra. The police are now investigating an assault and ongoing mistreatment of Marea in her new group home. It’s unimaginable. But it’s exactly what was feared by her family and others when the government privatised all of the State’s disability services. Without a care in the world, the Berejiklian government washed its hands of responsibility for the most vulnerable people in our society. Many of the residents in the state’s care had complex and profound disabilities. Since they’ve been removed, people have died due to inadequate care. Now, there’s a report of assault. I’m angry. I cannot imagine how Marea’s family and others are feeling. Where are the safeguards and oversight that were promised on the closure of these services? Where’s the quality care they were promised? Where’s their ‘choice and control’? Where’s the humanity of the Berejiklian government? Full story https://www.newcastleherald.com.au//police-investigating/

06.01.2022 If you are part of a not-for-profit group in Port Stephens, you can apply for a Community Building Partnership grant now. Our amazing community has worked wonders with this funding in the past - it’s time to bring more amazing projects to life. If you need any help or have any questions, please contact my office.... Here’s where to get started https://www.nsw.gov.au/proje/community-building-partnership

06.01.2022 In Karuah this morning, hundreds turned out to pay respect to all former and current service men and women, especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice. We reflected on the actions of ordinary Australians who gave extraordinary service to our country for the peace and freedoms we now enjoy. Thank you to the Karuah RSL Sub Branch for the opportunity to commemorate ANZAC Day as a community this year. ... Each and every day, we will remember them. Lest we forget.

06.01.2022 Since being elected to Port Stephens Council, Giacomo Arnott has shown he’s caring, capable and that he’ll fight hard for our community. Thank goodness he’s willing to do it again! He has my 100% support

06.01.2022 In Medowie, we have two primary schools at or over capacity, a new Catholic High School and an independent Christian school. But no public high school. There are 1,000 more houses being built for families whose kids will be able to go to a local McDonald’s 24 hours a day, but will have to get on a bus to get to high school. ... Thanks to the NSW Teachers Federation for backing our fight. The only ones NOT backing a public high school in Medowie, is the Berejiklian government. For the sake of our kids and our community, Meryl Swanson MP & I will keep banging this drum louder and louder

05.01.2022 ON TODAY - TILLIGERRY OPEN GARDENS Wander & wonder in secret, special places.

05.01.2022 Can you hear it? It’s a world-wide sigh of relief. Congratulations Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

04.01.2022 It was a privilege to spend time in this stunning, special place tonight - the Auburn Gallipoli Mosque. Alongside Jodi McKay MP and so many of my NSW Labor colleagues, we were generously hosted by the Turkish Muslim community. Despite suffering a recent and awful attack, they impressively shared their message of peace, harmony and respect.

04.01.2022 Finally, the Morrison government has committed to a Royal Commission into veteran suicide. Thank you to Anthony Albanese, Meryl Swanson MP and their team for being there from the start and never giving up.

04.01.2022 It’s NAIDOC Week, and this year’s theme is ''Always Was, Always Will Be''. It’s a week to celebrate and recognise that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. The region we now know as Port Stephens is the traditional lands of the Worimi. ... Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were Australia’s first explorers, navigators, engineers, farmers, botanists, scientists, diplomats, astronomers and artists. This NAIDOC Week - and every week - we have much to learn, recognise and celebrate. #NAIDOC2020 #NAIDOCWeek #NAIDOC #worimi

03.01.2022 REACH OUT AND RECONNECT - it’s a wrap! All week, local services and businesses have joined forces to let those doing it tough in our community, know that there’s always somewhere to turn. Huge thank you to Colleen and her team at MarketPlace Raymond Terrace for giving us a pop-up shop for the week ... Big shout out to all the services that participated and everyone who dropped by

03.01.2022 Many of our kids are struggling to cope with all the challenges of 2020, so local youth mental health services are more important than ever. I recently caught up with the team at COPSY again, who’ve worked hard to set up jupiter Australia , a free youth counselling service in Salamander Bay. Despite all the talk acknowledging mental health as a key community concern by both the Morrison and Berejiklian governments, it’s disappointing that they’re still not supporting practic...al solutions like Jupiter. Given the ongoing challenges our community faces, I’ll be hosting a mental health roundtable in November - details to be provided soon. In the meantime, anyone aged 12-18 who’s feeling down can BOOK in with jupiter "a space to talk" at jupiter.org.au or call 0490 716 265.

03.01.2022 In NSW it’s illegal to receive political donations from property developers. The laws are in place for a purpose - to prevent corruption. So when Labor learned about concerning donations received by the NSW Nationals, we called on them to explain. But they’ve gone to ground. The NSW Electoral Commission will tell us the truth.

02.01.2022 Back home and very grateful to Stephen Lawrence, Deputy Mayor - Dubbo for connecting me with his community. As Shadow Minister for Environment I learnt about the challenges faced by Healthy Rivers Dubbo from Mel Gray. And got to talk all things Dubbo with the Mayor of The Dubbo Region - Ben Shields. What a great town! ... If you’ve never been, take a road trip to Dubbo. And check out the special places along the way that could do with some support too.

02.01.2022 The Premier has admitted her government used this grant to pork barrel electorates and declared it was legal to do so. So why won’t anyone take responsibility for it? Because using taxpayer funds to buy an election result is wrong and everyone knows it.

02.01.2022 Happy Monday Well done to Dolphin Swim Australia for showcasing some of my most charismatic constituents

02.01.2022 On behalf of the people of Port Stephens, I was honoured to present Mr James Page with his 50 years of membership with RSL NSW. Mr Page served with the Royal Navy on the battleship HMS KING GEORGE V during World War II. He subsequently moved from the UK to Australia and joined the Royal Australian Navy. In 1956, Mr Page settled in Raymond Terrace where he’s contributed to our community and the RSL for more than half a century. ... At 97 years of age, Mr Page is the oldest member of the Raymond Terrace RSL sub-branch. Today, he received a standing ovation at the sub-branch’s annual luncheon held in anticipation of ANZAC Day.

02.01.2022 REACH OUT AND RECONNECT Today in MarketPlace Raymond Terrace between 10am and 3pm, you can speak with: - Hume Community Housing (local public housing provider)... - Hunter Primary Care (healthcare and rehabilitation, mental health, disability services) - Thou-Walla Family Centre (family programs and support) - Centre For Hope (mentoring and support for young people) - COPSY (youth mental health) Come along and meet with our hardworking local community services available to support local residents and families.

02.01.2022 Surf Life Saving Clubs are at the heart of our community, keeping our beautiful beaches safe. And every volunteer is valued. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we weren’t able to recognise outstanding volunteer contributions as usual, so this happened in NSW Parliament House instead. ... On behalf of our community and visitors- thank you to all Surf Life Saving NSW volunteers

01.01.2022 Shocking outcome today for frontline public sector workers. In effect, the Premier’s wage freeze has been approved. The Premier’s happy to take the accolade for NSW’s management of the health crisis whilst denying those who’ve done the hard work on the frontline, what they were entitled to.

01.01.2022 If you haven’t noticed yet, according to the Bureau of Meterology, this thunderstorm is very dangerous. And it’s on top of us right now. Take care everyone. ... For life threatening emergencies, call 000. If you need help, call the SES on 132 500.

01.01.2022 An afternoon in beautiful Dungog talking roads, mental health, small business, national parks, tourism, cycling, arts, primary production, environment and so much more.
