24.01.2022 A Blue Wren, always hopping around the garden. A delight to watch.

23.01.2022 A Golden Spirea, its just a mass of small purple flowers in late Spring.

23.01.2022 This is a bonze leaf collarette dahlia. Beautiful colour. Grows about 1 metre. Thought I had lost it a couple of years ago, very grateful when I saw some shoots popping through the ground last year.

21.01.2022 These are some of the babies that hatched on our dam last year. The bigger, grey ducklings are Wood duck and about 4 weeks old. The smaller brown ones are Black duck and about 1 week old. Obviously both parents know where food is plentiful, it was great watching them grow.

20.01.2022 Some of the liliums that are flowering in my garden at the moment.

20.01.2022 This is Egeria densa, a plant in my pond. Native to South America, can be very invasive. Has certainly taken over large parts of the pond, pretty little white flower. When I clean out the pond it will need to be disposed of correctly. The little bright green leaves are actually duckweed which can be just as invasive.

16.01.2022 This is a Spirea. Mine has lovely golden/yellow leaves and masses of purple pink flowers.

12.01.2022 One side of my pond. Not being a big fan of Canna lilies, this oe is Tropicana, decided that it needed to go in the pond. Actually gives it a bit of a lift.

10.01.2022 This is Grewia occidentalis that my mother has. It comes from South Africa is frost tender but extremely hardy once established. Lovely little pink flowers. Can grow up to 2m.

10.01.2022 Two of my waterlilies. The little black insects make great food for the goldfish. One is partly opened and looked like a cup.

10.01.2022 One of the flowers from my water lily. The little black insects on it make great fish food.

09.01.2022 I am assuming that the wasp is happily building a multi-story home for her eggs. The window is down a passageway so we can view it from inside the house but has orchids in front of it to keep us at away. Over the past 3 weeks she has just kept adding bits to it. It will be interesting to eventually see what happens.

06.01.2022 This is an Ismeme, part of the Amaryllidaceae family. Is a bulb and has lots of common names such as Spider Lily, Sacred Lily of the Incas, Peruvian Daffodil. Can be grown in pots or in the ground, goes dormant in the winter months. Likes full sun to partial shade.

02.01.2022 This is what happens when you put a lid on a container which has some seeds in it that aren't quite dry, then forget to take it off for three weeks. Lots of mould that looks a bit like cottonwool.

01.01.2022 This is Elaecarpus retuculatus pink form or the common name is Blueberry Ash. Can grow to 6m x 4m. Has beautiful feathery pink flowers.
