23.01.2022 Prescription drug abuse is a rising problem in Australia and pharmaceutical drugs have been the most frequent contributors to overdose deaths in Australia in recent years. Data from the Coroners Court in Australia list the main drugs that contributed to drug-related deaths in 201218 : Analysis of the data reveals that pharmaceutical drugs contributed to 80% of overdose deaths; benzodiazepines and opioids were the main drug groups involved. Also buprenorphine/ naloxone over m...ethadone has raised concern. Prescription drug abuse is a worldwide problem of increasing concern to governments and the United Nations. The two most common types of drugs abused were analgesics and sedatives. These two drug types can activate the reward regions in the brain by increasing dopamine neurotransmitter levels, which in turn can generate a feeling of pleasure and relief of dysphoria. One way of assessing drug abuse and its related harms is to look at the worst possible outcome death. The coroner investigates all unexpected deaths in Australia (population 22 million). Each year, about 50,000 cases are investigated and all bodies are screened for a wide range of drugs. The Coroners Court of Australia defines an overdose death as ‘any death in which the acute toxic effects of one or more drugs. The findings were shocking . The coroner’s data showed that benzodiazepines were the most frequent contributing drug group, contributing to an annual average of 51.3% of all overdose deaths during 201218. Opioid analgesics contributed to an annual average of 48.5% during that time. Wow Please always before purchasing a prescription drug look up the side effects . Then assess for yourself if it is worth suffering those side effects and becoming addicted. Stay kind and stay safe See more

23.01.2022 What Are the Benefits of Stretching in the Morning? Trying to incorporate exercise into a morning routine can be quite the challenge. However, the benefits of stretching in the morning for as little as five minutes outweigh any inconvenience you think it might pose while you're rushing to get ready for work or eating breakfast. I recommend that instead of stretching cold in the morning, stretch when your muscles are warm, such as when you get out of bed. So set your clock... to wake you up five to 10 minutes earlier and stretch in front of a sun-filled window. Improve Your Posture There are a number of benefits associated with stretching such as improvements in posture. Many people, especially those who sit in front of a computer for extended periods of time, develop poor posture as a result of overstretched back muscles and tight chest muscles. You get a hunched back and your shoulders hover just below your ears. Implementing a morning routine of stretches that focus on opening these muscles can be effective for loosening them up. As these muscles become more and more flexible, changes in stance and posture will become evident. Perform a series of shoulder shrugs and chest-opening stretches at your desk as well throughout the day. Fewer Aches and Pains Morning stretches can also be useful when it comes to eliminating aches and pains in the muscles and joints. While these aches and pains can develop at any time throughout the day, they often occur in the morning after the body has been at rest for a long period. For best results, use gentle stretching to warm up the body and alleviate joint discomfort. As you get older, besides your muscles shrinking, you can look forward to less fluid surrounding your tendons. Increased Blood Flow Stretching can also be useful when it comes to increasing blood flow to all parts of the body including the brain. Though healthy blood flow is important all day long, it may be especially crucial during the morning hours, as folks jump start their day after being asleep for several hours. Adequate blood flow increases concentration and sharpens senses. So get your stretch on Stay kind and stay safe

22.01.2022 You’ve probably heard the saying Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a queen and dinner like a pauper or breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But should your meals really get smaller as the day goes by ? Well the goal is to match energy intake with expenditure throughout the day, it makes sense, then, to preload calories in the morning and during the day to fuel your body and brain for the day’s tasks (and workout) ahead. Eating a large, fatty or high carb ...meal right before bed is difficult for your body to digest properly when you’re laying horizontal. It can cause acid reflux and, in turn, disturb your sleep. Make sure your last meal is 23 hours before bed. If you need a snack to ward off hunger, stick with something small and easily digestible, like vegetables. So best way of eating is big breakfast and lunch and eat a lighter dinner , with only protein and vegetables and no carbs . Stay kind and stay safe .

20.01.2022 Tanning is Bad !!!! Is it safe to get a "base tan" in the summer? No. There is no safe amount of tanning.... Tanning isn't bad for you just because it comes with the risk of burning, which can cause skin cancer. Tanning is bad for you because your body doesn't even begin to tan until dangerous ultraviolet (UV) rays have pierced your skin and started to mess with your DNA. And that alone significantly increases the risk of skin cancer. Melanin is a pigment found in skin cells that's produced when UV rays hit the skin. The more melanin produced, the darker the tan. (And people with more melanin in their skin have darker skin tones.) It's true that melanin can protect the body to some extent against UV rays it absorbs UV rays to a point, acting as the skin's natural sunscreen. But the process of adding an extra dose of melanin to the skin in other words, tanning is actually a defense mechanism that begins only after damage has been done. Tanning breaks down the natural collagen in the skin, which can lead to premature aging. Collagen is the support structure for the skin. Without the support structure, skin wrinkles, thins and weakens, taking on a papery appearance. So the safest way to get a tan , please use natural organic self-tanning lotions . Stay kind and stay safe

10.01.2022 Baking Soda : It prevents Heartburn Even if you cook on a regular basis, the suggestion of using baking soda in coffee could be very out of the left field. It’s because baking soda is not a popular ingredient for these situations, especially in beverages. Due to being pure sodium bicarbonate, baking soda doesn’t have any acidic properties and remains an alkaline. To provide an acidic reaction, it has to be mixed with a substance that overcomes its alkaline properties, causing... the chemical reaction needed for baking and other uses. If you are one to consume coffee every chance you get, then you might be familiar with the feeling of heartburn or acidity. That sometimes comes with your daily fix of caffeine. Specifically, that type of heartburn is associated with having inexpensive coffee or medium roast coffee. Which is often made of coffee beans that are prone to make their consumers feel acidic. Just by adding a small pinch of baking soda ( aluminium free) into your coffee , you alkalise it . I for one have been doing this for a very long time . Enjoy Stay kind and stay safe See more

06.01.2022 It’s easy to get swept up in the holiday season. The feasts and parties that mark it can tax the arteries and strain the waistline. By eating just 200 extra calories a day a piece of pecan pie and a tumbler of eggnog here, a couple cookies and some gingerbread there you could pack on two to three kilos over this five- to six-week period. That doesn’t sound like much, except few people shed that extra weight in the following months and years. You don’t need to deprive your...Continue reading

03.01.2022 Why do we get sick? Each person has a predisposition to become sick in a specific way, depending on your personality, genetic factors, strong emotions and events which took place in your life and influenced you, exposure to toxic substances, unhealthy way of life, radiations, etc Some people will most likely have complaints of their stomach, others of their skin or of their heart. This all depends on your 'constitution'. You become ill in this specific way when you are expos...ed to stress or to strong emotions, toxic substances, when you are exhausted or feel under pressure. Then it is very difficult for your body to recover by itself. My experience is that naturopathic therapies which embodies nutrition, supplementation and advice in all areas needed, will put it back in balance, will give you more energy and will help you to recover. 02.01.2022 Understand your Immune System !!!! Bone marrow creates bones, teeth, and your immune system. Your hard skeletal system is an integral part of your immune system, and they operate with the same signalling system. ... Bone marrow, one of the primary lymphoid organs, harbors immune cells including hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs), lymphocytes, monocytes/macrophages, and neutrophils, all of which share microenvironments with bone cells such as osteoblasts, osteoclasts, and osteocytes. In a stressful situation, your hands may sweat and your heart may pound. A paper in Cell Metabolism suggests that a less obvious organyour skeletal systemis what starts the fight-or-flight response that gets you out of harm's way. According to this new research in lab mice, an acute stress response is impossible without a hormone called osteocalcinwhich, is made in bone marrow. The immune and skeletal systems share a variety of molecules, including cytokines, chemokines, hormones, receptors, and transcription factors. Bone cells interact with immune cells under physiological and pathological conditions. Osteoimmunology was created as a new interdisciplinary field in large part to highlight the shared molecules and reciprocal interactions between the two systems in both heath and disease. Osteoimmunology has become indispensable for understanding the pathogenesis of a number of diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA). In the bone destruction disease, which pathogenic helper T cell subsets induce bone erosion through misregulation of immune signals. Bone erosion in arthritis occurs at the interface of activated immune system and bone. Much has been done to understand how activated T cells induce bone erosion/ Th17 cells were found to be exclusively responsible for the destruction of bone. Healthy bones and teeth mean a healthy strong immune system and cross over in their presentation of disease. Here are some of the main components to strengthen the bone and immune interface: 1) Melatonin 2) Vitamin D3 3) Vitamin A 4) Vitamin K2 5) Magnesium Did you know the bone and teeth connection? Stay tuned ....... Stay kind and stay safe
