23.01.2022 Top 9 for 2020 2020.....phwoar....what a year!!! This has been a year of such high highs and the lowest of lows, dark clouds and silver linings.... Throughout it all, this little group of amazing women has held steadfast, supporting and empowering each other. We have continued to work on ourselves when we've felt up to the task (and believe me, there has been good reason to hide in our PJ's and let self care slip out of our grasp at times this year) and stepped up to look after each other. I have met so many incredible women this year, each one of you has shared so many intimate details of your life with me, and for that I am truly humbled. I have met mothers, fighters, warriors, friends, supporters, wives, girlfriends and women from all walks of life to name a few. I look forward to meeting so many more of you in 2021! The world is still in a fragile state as we head into 2021. Some of us may set big goals for the new year, others will work towards smaller more achievable goals throughout the year and others of us are white knuckling our way through each moment as it passes. 02.01.2022 Elle @breastiesforlife is a Breast Cancer Survivor and advocate for walking the path where she has once been. I met Elle a few months after her double mastectomy. She was at one of the lowest points in her life. She had lost her breasts, was in the depths of anxiety and depression that she had never experienced before and herself image was all but destroyed. She needed something to make me feel special again. We planned to do a Boudoir Session after her implant exchange... surgery. We stayed in contact as the months passed and the surgery date approached. Unfortunately when I checked in to see how she was after surgery, she let me know that it didn't go as planned. Elle would need another surgery in 9 - 12 months time. She broke her heart as she explained to me that she had to live with a body that she couldn't even bare to look at in the mirror. The session with me would have to wait. I called Elle that and gently said, Elle, I want you to see how beautiful you are now, I know your surgery didn’t go to plan but I think we should do a photo shoot, I want you to see what other people see. This courageous woman put her trust in me and took a huge leap of faith. She came into the studio and absolutely rocked her session. This is a small snippet of what she had to say... "I left the photoshoot feeling like I wanted to scream, laugh and cry all at once. I couldn’t believe what I had just done, I was filled with pride. I felt strong, beautiful and empowered.
