18.01.2022 If I had to pick one element to focus on within any makeup look to have the biggest impact it is definitely SKIN! Spending the time to choose the right products to prep the skin, how much coverage and the finish of the makeup depending on skin type and the desired look is integral. Its definitely not a one size fits all process for me. I think if your skin looks flawless and luminous (not masked) then thats the very first thing people will notice ... and it looks amazing in photos! 01.01.2022 As Im preparing to re-open my doors at the end of this week, after 10 weeks of beauty business lockdown, Im feeling all the feels and reflecting big time about the industry that has seen me through my life from the age of 18 and honestly I feel like Ive been missing a limb for the past 10 weeks! So many woman rely on this industry. It means time out from busy lives, being taken care of and prioritized, a feeling of confidence and like theyre themselves again. A relati...onship with a makeup artist and/or beauty therapist is built soundly on trust not only that the expectations of their aesthetic appearance will be met but also the sharing of heartfelt conversations and getting to know one another like you would a close friend. Any kind of beauty establishment is a sanctuary. A place where its all about you and your needs and over time, becomes so intertwined in your routine. Did you know the beauty industry employs more woman than any other industry? Knowing that along with the fact that all sole traders, freelancers, salons and spas have been inundated with bookings this week (for the above reasons) fills me with so much relief and excitement for all of us. Theres an incredible amount of happy woman out there on both sides of the coin - client and professional, and Im just filled with pride and passion for what I do. So after nearly 19 years (eeeek!) in the biz (with a long break in there to raise my babies), Im glad my heart is still well and truly in it! Cheers to all my amazing industry friends out there, Im sure youre feeling like a cat on hot bricks waiting to get back into it like I am!
