19.01.2022 SPRING CLEAN YOUR BRUSHES! Clean brushes are crucial for clear, healthy skin. Here's how: There are 2 ways to clean your brushes. The first is to use a brush cleaner (MAC, Priceline, etc). To use, simply pour a little of the liquid cleaner on paper towel and gently swipe your brush back and forth flat on the paper towel until it is clean. Your brush will be dry and ready to use again in minutes, so this method is great if you're time poor. Brush cleaner is best for brushes th...at arent that dirty to begin with, or for inbetween times. The second (and my preferred) option is a deep cleanse: Step 1: Using a gentle shampoo (I prefer Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo), squirt a little in the palm of your hand, wet your brush and gently swirl it around until you have a little lather. Step 2: Rinse under warm running water, holding the brush vertically so that the water runs down the bristles away from the handle. Be careful not to use hot water as it can melt the glue that holds the brush together. If the shampoo is coloured or isnt foaming your brush is still dirty and you will need to repeat this step. Step 3: Gently squeeze the excess water from the bristles, reshape and smooth them, and lay the brush flat on a clean towel in the sun - if possible - to dry. Why is this important? Dirty brushes are bad for your skin, spread infections under the surface (that cause blocked pores and pimples), and usually result in a heavier or poorer application than intended, so it pays to keep them clean!
