20.01.2022 With all the fires in our local area we have taken the opportunity to expand our knowledge of fire and fire safety. After mapping what we knew about fires we researched fire, fire fuel, fire fighters, fire trucks, fire safety, fire helicopters, how to call for help and practiced our fire drill. Today we are going to look at smoke from fires and start talking about other emergencies that could happen and who could help.

05.01.2022 Last year we consulted Kmart Australia on the redesign of their swaddle pouches; our advice was not acted upon unfortunately. Their original design (shown here... in the grey with white arrows) was one of the narrowest swaddles we’d seen, and was 100% NOT hip healthy. Whilst it is pleasing to see that their new design, now available, is wider all over (shown here in the white with grey leaf), we advised Kmart that more width was needed from the waist down as the one size is for ages up to 3 months. Henry our petite newborn hippy doll, whose legs sit in a healthy hip position (legs apart, knees slightly bent as shown in the photos), only just fits in the swaddle; there isn’t room sufficient for the typical growth of a baby between birth and 3 months. Swaddle right, not too tight, from waist to toe is the way to go to encourage healthy hip development.
