25.01.2022 **FRIDAY NIGHT RUGBY** Round 2 of the NT Bitumen & Asphalt Katherine Rugby Union Season kicks off this Friday night 20th Nov. 2020. Juniors start the night off from 5.00pm with Jim Leonhardt. Next up we have the Katherine Brahmans Rugby Union Club Womens 7’s taking on the BARBARIANS RUFC Women’s 7’s at 7.00pm. Followed by the Katherine Brahmans Rugby Union Club v Katherine Pirates RUFC Men’s XV’s at 7.30pm.... Katherine Krocs Golden Oldies Rugby Club are manning the BBQ with Steak and Sausage Sandwiches and Soft drinks available for purchase. $2 entry at the gate. Bring the family and a chair and come watch some great rugby action! *strictly no glass*

25.01.2022 **** Event has been cancelled **** **GRAND FINAL NIGHT** After much consideration, conducting of a Risk Assessment and talks with the NTRU, the KRU grand final will continue ahead as planned on Saturday.... Although it has been deemed as a low risk event we will still have risk mitigation’s in process on the day. This will include the use of sanitizer on entry into the grounds and a count at the gate to limit the crowd to below 500. It is encouraged that if you have been unwell or have been exposed to an infected person of COVID-19 or have travelled to a high risk area in the past 2 weeks to NOT ATTEND on Saturday. We will hopefully have a live stream set up to the games to allow those that cannot attend to watch from home. Juniors will kick off the day at 4.30pm Followed by a sausage sizzle and drinks for all junior participants. Ladies 7’s will then play at 6.30pm, followed by the Mens XV’s Grand Final where we will see the BARBARIANS RUFC take on the Katherine Pirates RUFC for title of 2019/2020 KRU premiers. Presentations and awards to follow. Katherine Krocs Golden Oldies Rugby Club will be manning the BBQ. $2 entry at gate. Any further updates will be posted on here. 24.01.2022 **GOLDEN OLDIES** This Saturday night, 5.00pm for a 6.00 kick off. Free entry at the gate. The Krocs will be cooking up a feast of delicious curries served at $10 p/plate.... Anybody over the age of 35 looking for a run of social rugby, bring your boots down and see the fellas in the yellow and green stripes on the day. BYO esky and chairs. 22.01.2022 1 WEEK TO GO!!!! The NT Bitumen & Asphalt KRU 2020/2021 season kicks off Friday 13th of November. Juniors will start the night off at 5.00pm for sign on and a skills and drills session. Next we will see the Pirates Womens 7s v Brahman Womens 7s in action, taking to the field at 7.00pm and last game for the night will see the Grand final rematch that never happened between BARBARIANS RUFC and Katherine Pirates RUFC at 7.30pm. 09.01.2022 Evening Friends of Rugby, It is with great sadness that we wish to inform you all of the cancellation of tomorrow nights KRU Grand Final. With 2 confirmed cases today of Covid-19 a decision was made by the committee and club representatives that the health and safety of players, officials and supporters far outweighs a game of rugby. ... The 19/20 Katherine Rugby season has been a season of positives all around for all involved. We’d like to thank our clubs, officials and supporters for your support this year. 04.01.2022 Tough game tonight! Congratulations Katherine Pirates RUFC winning KRU semi Final 23-5 over Katherine Brahmans Rugby Union Club... Pirates will take on the BARBARIANS RUFC next Saturday 21st March in the Grand Final. Games start from 4.30 onwards.... Huge thanks to Dylan Lewis and the Brahmans boys for the season. 01.01.2022 **WARNING LONG POST** After having to end the season on such a low note I thought I would point out some highlights for the 2019/2020 season. 1) SUMMER OF 7’S- The season started off great with Katherine hosting Round 2 of the Summer of 7’s Series. We had teams travel down from Darwin, Palmerston and even Arnhem Land to compete in the day.
