24.01.2022 Katherine Public Library Temporary Building Closure Tuesday 22 September 2020 Due to ongoing construction upgrades, the Katherine Public Library will be temporarily closed to the general public Tuesday 22 September 2020. The library will reopen 10.00am, Wednesday 23 September.... Please note that telephone services to the Library are currently affected. Patrons are asked to contact the Katherine Town Council Civic Centre (08 8972 5500) with all enquiries until services are reconnected. Katherine Town Council apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.

22.01.2022 Students! ... We're offering a 3D Printing Workshop - You will take home a souvenir and be able to design and print your own creation for free! This introductory session provides an overview of printing technologies - software, hardware and applications. You will have the chance to turn your creativity into reality.... Students will be taught to create a 3D model from scratch and use Inventor Series II printer, to print out the model, and take it home as a souvenir. Workshop Overview Create a 3D model using 3D Paint and other software Demonstration of 3D printing How to set up, install and correctly use 3D devices Installing filaments (PLA) for printing Location We would like to acknowledge the Commonwealth Government and the NT National Science Week Coordinating Committee and thank them for their support with this event. 20.01.2022 As students head back to school today, Katherine Public Library would like to thank to the NT Government for their support of our April School Holiday program. It was a super busy week including our first ever Dungeons & Dragons Demo with mentoring, Toddler Rhyme Time, Dragon Storytime & craft, Wriggle & Rhyme and Giant Games in the town square! Thank you to everyone who came along to these events and participated. We would love to hear your feedback or suggestions for next time as we begin planning for July. Please drop a comment below or come into the Library and let us know your thoughts.

08.01.2022 Katherine Public Library was very excited to welcome local resident and children's picture book author katherine__bowman to read her book "Ember the Dragon" to children participating in our School Holiday program activities. After the story they crafted everything Dragon! Sock Puppets, Dragon Eggs, cardboard dragons..... We are always keen to have local authors come to the library to share their stories!
