25.01.2022 Maggie came to greet me as I was watering some plants outside our fence. She is always looking to see if we have something for her as we often throw out grain from the chook pen if she's around. Today she serenaded me with all sorts of bird calls, currawongs, honeyeaters, parrots and others and a dog barking! Amazing. Short video as traffic started to get noisy nearby. I had heard that magpies are imitators - hadn't realised just how much.

24.01.2022 At Birdsland this morning I spied these four Australian Native Noisy Miner birds waiting for their mumma to come feed them. So cute. #australianbirdlife #babybirds

22.01.2022 Do you know the difference between the Australian Native Noisy Miner and the introduced species Indian Mynah? Not only a different spelling but different colour too - but probably very similar annoying natures, at times. I often see discussions (arguments) about this two birds in Facebook groups.

21.01.2022 I have just FOUR copies of the Dandenong Ranges 2021 calendar left, I saw one at Belgrave South IGA the other day, not sure how many Belgrave Book Barn have left. But if you want one, need to get in quick! You can purchase online for pick up in Selby or to be posted out to you. https://www.trybooking.com/BKRWP

20.01.2022 A beautiful clear and still morning and it was busy, even at 9am at Lillydale Lake today. I had a great and successful walk around the lake, with many great pics taken. #dandenongranges #lillydalelake

18.01.2022 I was delighted to discover some Tawny Frogmouths at Birdsland Reserve recently. I've recently gotten a new bridge camera, a Nikon P950, which I've been practising lots with. This camera has a 2000m reach and allows me to get much closer shots than I previously could. This shot is taken with the Nikon D7100 with 500mm reach lens. Check the next shot, taken from same position with the 2000mm reach!

16.01.2022 Testing out the new Nikon P950. What do you think? https://dandenong-ranges-photography.com.au/trying-a-new-z/

08.01.2022 So thrilled with the public response to my calendars, books and jigsaw puzzles this year despite not being able to be in a regular monthly market. There are just 3 calendars left now but still have several copies of the book Words on Birds. A small number of jigsaw puzzles left in stock but more can be more ordered in the new year. If you're looking for last minute Christmas gifts, pick up can be done here in Selby. Just PM me.

05.01.2022 Lovely to receive a review of my book - thank you Debbie.
