17.01.2022 Our local tourism folk at The Tweed Tourism Co. have put together a great portal to local businesses, sharing what we're all doing to adapt to the Covid challenges and still be there for our wonderful local customers. We're on it now, so see if you can spot us! #lovethetweed https://visitthetweed.com.au/lovethetweed/

14.01.2022 Well folks, look as though all 'non-essential' services will be closed down in the next 48 hours. Although we might challenge that label, we will be closing for dine in after tonight's trade, with the hope that we will still be able to do take away/home delivery. In the meantime (hurry!!) please come down tonight and try out Shankar's fabulous seafood curry. Stock up on take aways for the freezer! Watch this space for future developments!! And also, may we take a moment to thank all of you from the depths of our hearts, for the wonderful support you have always given us over the years. Let's pray that we all stay safe and healthy and try to stay positive! Namaste.

14.01.2022 Thank you all our lovely diners and takeaway regulars for your support in these challenging times. 13.01.2022 One of my fears in visiting the Himalayas.....earthquake. I trust that everyone is safe. The world is already shaky enough!

12.01.2022 Kathmandu Kitchen urgently needs 2 local junior casual dishwashers. Please send your resume (or details) to [email protected] or drop your resume in to the restaurant. Thanks!

12.01.2022 We are so excited to be able to invite our diners back into Kathmandu Kitchen from this Friday night! Of course, lots of limitations do apply but we are really happy to have people at our tables again. As only 10 people are permitted at one time, we are offering 2 sittings, an early (from 5 pm, gone by 7 pm) and a later (from 7 pm, gone by 9.15 pm). Bookings need to be made directly with Karen by text 0418159074 or by phone to the restaurant (02)66 745 746. Our online take away and delivery service will still be available. We truly look forward to welcoming you very soon!!! Ps this Friday early sitting is already booked out

12.01.2022 A big shout-out to Jayne of Taste Tweed for promoting our beautiful area and food culture. Especially with all the challenges of the current time, we’d love to see more people coming to the Tweed Coast and seeing what we have to offer.

11.01.2022 Shankar and I want to send a big thank you to you, our lovely customers for embracing all the changes and supporting us with your takeaway and delivery orders! But we so miss seeing all your lovely faces and watching you enjoy your meals. We'd love it if you could photograph your "Kathmandu Kitchen restaurant at home" experience and share the photos with us here throughout the month of May. Hint: dress your meal up with your favourite plates and glassware as you may become famous!

11.01.2022 Would you like to have your Kathmandu Kitchen take away order delivered? From tonight we are offering this service (conditions apply) to help our customers stay safe, well fed and happy! Just phone your order through as usual and we will bring it to your door! Namaste.

10.01.2022 We are booked out tonight but we have space and would love to see you at our table Sunday night. We are loving having our dine in service open again, albeit in limited numbers. Please come and see us soon!

08.01.2022 To celebrant this year’s Taste Tweed Food Festival, Jayne from TASTE TWEED will be dining at Kathmandu Kitchen this Friday evening. She’d love you to join her here. She highly recommends our Tibetan Momos (spiced beef mince dumplings) as an entree. For a truly unique main course dish, may we suggest our very special duck curry, made with love from a recipe handed down to Shankar from his grandmother. Hope to see you this Friday or sometime soon!

07.01.2022 Namaste. How are you all coping with the incredible changes COVID-19 has brought us? At Kathmandu Kitchen we have made some big changes to our protocols to protect our staff and our diners. We have removed many of our tables so that diners are safely distanced from others, we have new printed menus that will be cleaned after each individual use, and we have established strict codes of table setting and hand sanitising. Don’t forget that all our delicious meals are also availa...ble as take away! We are considering introducing a delivery service for Kingscliff and close surrounds during this health crisis. Please let us know your thoughts on this would you use such a service? Stay well, stay safe, and please come and see us soon! Namaste, Shankar, Karen & staff

07.01.2022 Last night one of our regular diners came for a large take away order. After he had paid and left, we saw that he had given us an enormous 'tip', which was actually more than his order total. He did it to support us. It was so deeply appreciated and so humbly given that it made me weepy to know we have such people in our midst. It not only helps us with the rent; the emotional and mental support we feel is profound. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

07.01.2022 Due to your wonderful enthusiasm for Shankar's cooking, we are opening earlier for take away orders, now from 5.00 pm Tuesday to Sunday. Also don't forget, if your Mum is a curry devotee, or just loves momos and samosas, you could surprise her with a delicious takeaway meal on Sunday (or Saturday) night to celebrate Mother's Day. We hope to see you soon!

03.01.2022 Hi dear friends, Shankar is still cooking at Kathmandu Kitchen. He has asked me to let you know that he has some delicious barramundi fillets that can be cooked in either a vindaloo sauce or a curry sauce, your choice. Also limited take away alcohol is now available with your meal order. See you soon! Namaste

02.01.2022 Good news! Kathmandu Kitchen is open on Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday from 5.15 pm now for take away food and drinks. We have some new and delicious dishes on the menu. Shankar has created a Barramundi Curry, which is also available as a medium to hot Barramundi Vindaloo. His Seafood Curry has Calamari, Mussels, Prawns & Scallops in Shankar’s secret recipe curry sauce. Perfect for Good Friday. Also, current regulations allow restaurants with a NSW Liquor Licence to sell take away alcohol, with a take away meal, including on Good Friday. A very happy Easter to you all. Stay safe! Namaste You can now order online: https://orders.wowapps.com/order/kathmandukitchennepa
