01.01.2022 You might remember that we auctioned off the first all-weather, all-terrain designer wedding dress to raise funds for the Himalayan Foundation last year. Created in collaboration with New Zealand fashion designer Tanya Carlson and GORE-TEX fabric, we are stoked to share that the beautiful couple who purchased the dress recently celebrated their special day in Alaska at Chugach Peak. They share a little on their day below and you can check out more on the design of the dress a...t the link in our bio. Congratulations again Ian & Paula. Wishing both a lifetime of love, happiness and adventure. "We were so lucky to have been able to arrange the wedding in Alaska (straight after a snow storm). The dress kept Paula warm (with the merino inlay and of course the Gortex) - for the most part (she had to keep the jacket close-by), but it was perfect for the occasion - everyone commented on it! The ceremony was a short hike up Chugach Peaks with the Reverand Cian, Joe Connolly (photographer) and Penny (the witness). We then took a helicopter to a glacier, followed by photos on the top of the mountain range. It was -28c for most of the day - but the sun was out and we had no wind (perfect for the wedding, and the photos), although in a couple of the shots you can see our ears and fingers turning blue. Thanks again to all of your team at KMD - the beautiful dress made the day even more perfect."
