19.01.2022 When the marriage equality vote came through, Kieren and Matt left work and sat in their garden together overwhelmed with emotion. That emotion was carried through their ceremony which was exquisitely thought through. Their 22 nieces and nephews processed down the aisle carrying a white rose each - a gift from their hearts. Matts second family from Japan performed a Saki ceremony, Kierens mother and aunty sang a Maori song during the signing. 07.01.2022 What I love about being a celebrant is the way couples honour whats important to them... and more importantly honoring the extra special people in their lives. Nikki and Jonno celebrated their big wedding in South Africa today but as Nikkis grandmother wasnt able to make the trip, we had a small family ceremony at her home before they left, with Nikkis parents and Jonnos parents skyping in (4am SA time!). There were so many tears, such a precious time.
