My last competition was in 2006 where I won the Universe Title. I decided to tick another one of my bucket list and do one more competition in 2016. Despite the difficulties I was facing during that time my injuries, my Luckys (fur baby) ill health and difficult situation I was faced with on a personal ...and professional level I kept that dream alive and stayed focused. I knew I had one more competition left in me at the age of 50! So I trained hard and meditated to stay spiritually connected to the bigger purpose of it all. It was never about winning titles. It was a matter of being the best I could be. It was about excelling at an elite level of fitness. It was about connecting to the inner power/spirit that exists in all of us. It was about tuning into a mindset that is aligned with something bigger than ourselves. Its about focusing on something that you love and allowing that energy to flow into every area of your life. Its about living in the flow, in the zone, in Zen, in connection with your divine self. Its about touching others with that energy and helping them find their own spark! What is your inner spark? What allows you to flow into your unique light? What takes you out of your own defeating mindset? What allows you to reach for the stars and be the person who walks this life with a CAN DO mindset? 17.01.2022 B12 AND THE VEGAN DIET Vitamin B12 (also known as Cobalamin), is produced by microorganisms, bacteria, fungi, and algae. B12 is not made by plants or animals. All B12 found in plants and animals, is from bacteria growing in or on them.... A deficiency in B12 is not unique to non-meat eaters. Its also a concern with ageing, medication use and gastrointestinal issues. Its recommended that all adults over the age of 60 years supplement to avoid deficiency. A healthy vegan on a whole food plant-based diet does not have to worry about B12 deficiency problems. They dont need B12 supplementation, except during pregnancy. Cooking destroys Vitamin B12. Therefore a live-food diet, made up of 60- 80% raw, will provide you with the B12 your body needs. If you regularly use coffee, alcohol, antibiotics, aspirin, birth control pills, or you have chronic digestive or colon problems - you are in danger of becoming B12 deficient especially if you are vegan who cooks all your food. Cooking food destroys 30-90% of the B12. Its important to include raw food into your diet, e.g lots of raw salads and vegetables. Its also a good idea to add brewers yeast, sea vegetables, and algae to your diet. These also protect you from B12 deficiency. A healthy vegan with a healthy lifestyle, does not need to worry about B12 deficiency, especially if 60-80% of the food eaten in uncooked. My health took a turn and forced me to stop and re-connect. I knew what my body and soul needed. So I spent time in nature to breathe, reflect and connect. Back in training again after sooo long. ...
