06.01.2022 Today I'm going to share my other new project (because I'm not busy enough!) For those who don't know, we are a family who fosters, and we bring babies and toddlers into our family and love them to bits. Most of these children come with very little, some come with nothing. So when I heard about the organisation Hope in a Suitcase I thought it was a wonderful initiative. Somehow that all snowballed and now I"m the co-ordinator for Hervey Bay! Basically, we accept donations of ...brand new items and pack them into suitcases for children entering foster care so they have something that is new, their own and special and also a beautiful suitcase to take with them wherever their journey takes them, so much nicer than a plastic bag. Last week I pitched my initiative at our local Neighbourhood Centre and won the judges choice giving us $3000 to really get going! All items are donated to us, so if this is something you or your family or your work collegues would like to be part of please let me know. There are branches in the Hunter Region in NSW, South East Qld and North Qld as well (all have facebook pages too) Now I'll get back to my sewing :) See more
