24.01.2022 So excited to share the project I’ve been working on with Roberta Schablon !! This human dynamo has created a fabulous cookbook that focuses on the produce of our region, based on the concept of locavore (basically, low food miles) and our regional producers. It’s been a joy to work with Roberta and her small and talented team. Please support her by purchasing a copy of her recipe book, or at the least, support local growers and producers over the big grocery chain stores - your tastebuds will thank you!

23.01.2022 Working on an exciting (and delicious!) project that highlights not only the produce of the South Burnett, but also signals a changing attitude towards our food and where it comes from. Among the local foodies I’ve been talking to are @clovelyestate @bunyaredfarm and @barambah.farms.estate. #lowkmfood #locavore #sustainablefood #localproducers #southburnett #freelancewriter

17.01.2022 Down the road from today’s coffee van find this morning is Gympie Town Hall. Bet those doors could tell a tale or. Inside are leadlights, wide staircases with polished timber rails, dark timber wall panelling and a rabbit warren of rooms, now council offices. #doorsofinstagram #gympiedoors #heritage #architecture

15.01.2022 WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM THE SEED SCHEME? A whole lot! Want a sneak peak of the 8 week intensive and the activation weekend? (PM me if you have any questions or want to apply.) Applications from rural women only will close at 5pm this Friday 10 July. The process is super easy and won't take long but I'm happy to guide you though if you want some help.... And if you've put your EOI in, be sure to get your application in! If you haven't seen an email with a link to the online application form, let me know and I'll get it to you asap. This is a rare opportunity to get on board a well developed and professional business program for not much money, ($18 a week, to be exact) thanks to the support of corporate and community sponsors. Get on it, ladies... www.theseedscheme.com.au

15.01.2022 I’m at the tail end of a project that I have just loved working on. When @chef_roberta_schablon approached me a couple of months ago about writing the producer stories for her first cookbook, I jumped at it. And not only was it joy to work with Roberta and her crew, but I loved hearing the stories of each of the featured farmers, growers and makers whose products form the basis of the recipes. The common threads through each one - absolute passion for what they do, keeping ...it local, low food miles, understanding soil, respecting livestock and sustainable practices - tell a larger story, collectively, about a movement heading towards community and fresh, healthy food. Roberta’s Italian heritage shines through the pages and I love how she’s brought her Nonnas along with her in so many recipes. And then there are the stunning images of her food, our local produce and the #southburnett region that she and @nancyjaydephotography have captured. Can’t wait to hold a copy in my hands. You can pre-order on The Saucy Fork website ahead of the November launch. Enjoy, and happy creating!!! (!!! Just for you @chef_roberta_schablon ) www.thesaucyfork.com.au

15.01.2022 Tomorrow is the last day to apply for the current round of The Seed Scheme! Links to the application page are in the attached post - just be sure to submit before 5pm on Friday 10 July (NSW time). Good luck!

12.01.2022 What can you expect from The Seed Scheme? It’s easy to say it’s a business-building program for rural women but what does that really mean? You’ll start with an 8 week business activation intensive - this includes a weekly live session with rurual champion Rebel Black (CEO of The Rural Woman, the organisation that facilitates the scheme) and the rest of the South Burnett group. There’s an activation weekend on 14-16 August where we all get to know each other, receive traini...ng, work on developing and pitching a service or product idea. The rest of the year involves regular online sessions, training, mentoring and of course working with your local group. There’s a tonne of training and expertise available, and access to a wider Australian network of women in business. Whether you’re a mum looking for something to run from home while the kids are at school, or you have an established business that’s going fairly well (and everyone in between), this is for you. So, are you motivated for a full year of backing yourself? Of building something great for yourself, your family and your community? Of stepping up and grabbing opportunity? I can answer any questions you have or you can go straight to https://theseedscheme.com.au/sseoicohort32020/ to put in your EOI and apply. See more

12.01.2022 The shapes and lines of buildings are endlessly fascinating! (Or so my photo library appears to tell me...) In rough order here are Gympie, Nanango, Sydney, Brisbane, Bali, Brisbane, Sydney, Sydney. #architecturephotography

08.01.2022 Me, works in a building for a month: wow I love the lion’s head door knob on the main door! Co-worker, been there seven years: what? #doorsofinstagram #gympie #doorknobs #heritagearchitecture

07.01.2022 Sign up to The Seed Scheme by cob Friday 11 July for what is basically a world class business program developed especially for women in rural areas.

03.01.2022 Shout out to this cool site - Hey Girlfriend - that came to life during the covid madness. <3 It's new, and full of real and honest conversation, just like you'd have with your best mates. And it does just happen to feature this recipe from moi (or to be completely honest, from my mum's collection) for a chocolate cupcake with a twist. Presenting the totally drizzliable (trust me on this - but please don't drizzle and drive ;-)) black bottomed cupcakes. You're very welcome.

01.01.2022 #doorsofgympie are all so gorgeous! They built things with style and grace back in the 1860s-1890’s, when many of these stunning buildings were constructed. #heritagearchitecture #queensland #gympie #the adventuresofkat2020
