25.01.2022 Love this correlation

24.01.2022 Stop and Smell the Roses That moment you stop and take time to be and inhale colour and beauty, ignites joy and inspires creativity. I needed a brain break last week, so took myself off to @ruthheiner Thursday art group and did just that!! There is something very therapeutic layering big thick layers of paint onto a canvas

23.01.2022 Cheers to the weekend with Impasto deliciousness! Daphne’s Dancing Dahlias . #paletteknife #florals #australianartist #oilpainting #art

22.01.2022 Stevie....a rogue peninsula steer! Unpredictable, untrusting and intimidated by no-one

22.01.2022 Into the Bush I went into the business where this painting is hanging today. It wasn’t one of my most favourite paintings UNTIL she hung it on her green wall, now I LOVE it! The serenity of the scene pops and makes your heart go uhhhhh.

21.01.2022 Oil paint, turps, laughs and bubbles...can only mean one thing....I’m back loving my creative self up at Tuesday Art group!!!

21.01.2022 Creative Crystal Clouds! These stunning sparkling clouds are made from a collection of grandmas old crystal vases, plates, milk jugs, etc. @ Art Gallery of New South Wales

20.01.2022 Couple of my faves from the Archibald’s and Wynn’s. The winner was portrait of Artist and Buddhist, Lindy Lee (of course not many people’s favourite but a great painting of her face using palette knifing). @ Art Gallery of New South Wales

19.01.2022 Today would have been my Grandpa’s 100th birthday. At 99 he was very social, relevant and wise with a sharp dry wit and an expected pessimism that I found hilarious. As an artist he kept me accountable! He and my Grandma were my cheer squad and accountability coaches...wanting weekly updates on what I was painting, what I’d sold, what I was doing next. They hung my art in every room of their house...irrelevant if they liked it or not, just proud that I’d painted it.

19.01.2022 Watercolour is harder than it looks especially when you’re a heavy handed, impatient, thick impasto, oil, palette knifer!!! Spent a soul nourishing few hours with Tina Maher Art fine tuning my watercolour brushstroke and application skills. Her most valuable tip....PATIENCE

17.01.2022 FLOURISH . I started this painting before the NQ floods but then lost all creative motivation. I finally returned to Tues night art after months and stood back from this finished painting and thought about the symbolism and lessons from nature. . Magnolias adapt and flourish in most climates. They have seasonal adversity constantly thrown at them. They do what they need to do to get through the conditions....they bunker down, save their strength and resources to reduce plant stress and then when things settle and the environment’s more optimal....bloom and FLOURISH....back again bright in the world!!

15.01.2022 Lucky to meet Christine, a Karrke artist from Kings Canyon, NT. Took her only a week to paint this story about witchetty grubs. The tree in the middle with the roots coming out, home for the witchetty grubs.....winter’s delicacy! The power and connection, like all art work, is in the story

14.01.2022 Wandering through The Common Getting out in nature and walking through a picturesque wetland reserve opens up your heart and fills every cell in your body with overwhelming calm and appreciation. Colour and nature therapy FOC! Looks peaceful from afar but it’s a crazy busy animal habitat up close!... Palette knife, Oil paint.

14.01.2022 Spent a self indulged morning last week at the Drill Hall Studio doing watercolour and ink, using collected pieces of nature to paint a different kind of still life.

13.01.2022 I’ve just spent the most relaxing Christmas ever over at Maggie Island. The contrasting landscape of beaches, ocean, hills, boulders and bush always resets and re-ignites that craving to paint. #somethingaboutmaggie

13.01.2022 Spent most of my art class tonight talking, laughing, eating. Of course, I got a sudden surge of inspiration and motivation in the last 10min of class....so took that flow home and painted til midnight.

11.01.2022 The Art of Wine . So many art and wine classes now but our Tuesday night girls discovered this creative appreciation 9 yrs ago!!

11.01.2022 ‘Freelance’ . Attending an intuitive art weekend with the fabulous Wendy Bache Art and Lynne Rivero in the gorgeous Hepburn Springs. . This painting was a team painting started by Maria and finished by me. Freelance is about not being confined to the track already forged and create your own colourful exciting path

10.01.2022 Last year in Barcelona at the Musea Picasso Big G bought me a limited edition print of the last portrait Picasso did of his wife....Portrait de Jacqueline! . This is my favourite portrait Picasso did of his wife and Musea Picasso is the most stunning art space I’ve been to. . The painting lights up our home because it symbolises Big G’s thoughtfulness and heart, and an amazing family holiday in Spain.

07.01.2022 Flourish My eldest daughter moved to Gympie four months ago to start her career in Town Planning. This stunning bunch of native flowers sat on her dining table in her new unit. Since moving, she has flourished! Her job is amazing, the people she works with are great, she spends weekends exploring the beautiful Sunshine Coast and getting energised at F45. ... This painting reminds me of her. Life in full bloom

07.01.2022 Soul passion and heart filled joy is being able to immerse completely and create, without interruption....iso not so bad for an artist!

05.01.2022 They thought I was a Surrealist, but I wasn’t. I never painted dreams...I painted my own reality ~ Frida Kahlo . How you perceive your life and the world is the reality you create. A little Frida inspo to consciously paint your space (or canvas!) bold and bright. . Murilo Manzini

04.01.2022 King Protea Pondering That feeling of complete freedom, waking up in your home on a Sunday morning with no plans, just pondering the possibilities of ‘maybe’

04.01.2022 Not my usual style but I loved painting this....unplanned, free from thought and completely in flow just enjoying the rich colours and smooth gliding of a large paint brush covered in thick lush oil.

04.01.2022 Grandma’s Flowers . That feeling when you go to your Grandma’s home and it’s warm and nurturing....a space to sit and chat and enjoy home baked biscuits and freshly cut flowers from the garden. A time to be indulged and cherished!

03.01.2022 Cow Corner I love cows. I love painting them, I love being around them, I love their calming nature...I love them as pets! When I was in India last year a Jyotish (who does Vedic Astrology) told me that Cows were my lucky animal and my best life is surrounded by cows! Made sense!!

02.01.2022 Paint and Wine...can only mean one thing....I’m back loving my creative self up at Tuesday Art group!!! A trip to central Australia has left me motivated,, inspired and ready to swish some paint around.

01.01.2022 Gifted these gorgeous blooms today! Inspo for a painting

01.01.2022 Awakening . The awakening of creative flow and unleashing of a full colour explosion for an artist-in-hiatus. Immersed in colour and paint is pure soul freedom and joy. . Lucky to squeeze in a weekend before lockdown with other amazing artists at @wendybache Art Retreat in the gorgeous Hepburn Springs
