25.01.2022 Loved giving the annual Mannix College Women in Leadership lecture. Proud to be an Old Mannixian and even prouder of what an amazing group of young people I met on the night. Their questions were honest, probing and respectful and showed how much they cared about the world they live in. ... #mannixcollege #politics #women #womeninpolitics #womenempoweringwomen
24.01.2022 What a great way to do a meeting! I joined Stonnington Bicycle User Group this afternoon for a chat and a ride around the electorate. We spoke about increasing safe active transport routes with potential for creating dedicated lanes in and around community hubs. I was proud to inform them that I recently announced $400K for the Melbourne Yarra Bike Trail project which will upgrade a section of path along Alexandra Avenue in Toorak. This project will widen it and... install a barrier fence between the road and path providing protection and separation between cyclists and adjacent traffic. Thank you for the ride and I’m very much looking forward to doing more for our very active community into the future.
24.01.2022 More Australian families are vaccinating their children, with coverage rates boosted to the highest on record. Vaccines in the National Immunisation Program are safe, effective and provide a key national response to save and protect young lives. Each year, the Morrison Government invests more than $400 million in the National Immunisation Program to protect young and vulnerable Australians As we remain focused on COVID-19, it’s important that we don’t lose sight of the other ...preventable diseases with which Australian families must contend. More information is available online at health.gov.au/immunisation

22.01.2022 Let’s light up Higgins! COVID's been tough but isn't it great we can get back to doing the things we love - kicking a footy, going for a walk, having a picnic. We all cherish our local green spaces so we can get out and about and stay active and healthy. But with winter fast approaching now is the time to make sure that we can keep doing the things we love safely - whatever the time of day. I am delighted to have secured $100,000 in Federal funding for lighting for the ...Rosanna Street Reserve. This new lighting project will be delivered in partnership with the Glen Eira City Council. Special thanks to local residents Mark and Brenda for stopping by and chatting about this great project. Thank you also to Cr Margaret Esakoff - Rosstown Ward, Mayor of the City of Glen Eira and CEO Rebecca McKenzie! #TakingCareOfHiggins #carnegie #higgins #gleneira

21.01.2022 I’m here at Prahran Woolworths with Christian and Tamara and gosh what a few months it’s been! Woolworths and all grocery employees have had to deal with many additional pressures this year due to the Covid crisis and they did an amazing job keeping us all fed and stocked with toilet paper! Thank you to all retail/grocery workers not only in my electorate of Higgins but right across Australia who have done so well. ... It is also a timely reminder as we head into Christmas to be extra polite and thank them for their great service. Be sure to watch to the end for a surprise under Christians mask!

19.01.2022 It’s been a tough year, but Australia’s comeback from the #COVID19 recession has begun. Over the last fortnight we’ve seen some very positive steps in the right direction. Thanks to the hard work of Victorians, they are now able to start opening safely, and we’ll continue to work to make sure they can stay safely open.... 446,000 jobs have come back in just the last four months, consumer and business confidence is on the rise, and Australia’s AAA credit rating has been reaffirmed. There’s a long way to go, but we are underway. PM Scott Morrison (ScoMo) Treasurer Josh Frydenberg

19.01.2022 It was awesome to meet 8 year old Grace from Malvern Primary School today so she could show me her big cheque for winning Origin’s Little Big Idea competition. Grace had an amazing idea of a kick me pedestrian button in the wake of the Covid crisis. This idea was to stop people using their hands to touch the buttons and prevent covid spreading. During our meeting we spoke about how she wants to become a scientist when she grows up and find cures for diseases such as Diabe...tes! 09.01.2022 This is appalling and this has no place in multicultural Australia. My electorate is rich in diversity, which makes it an exciting place to live, work and raise a family. 02.01.2022 Happy World Teachers Day! Most of us can point to a teacher who changed our lives, someone whose passion opened our eyes to a new and more fascinating world. For me, it was my Primary School teacher Mrs Van Der Berg! ... I also want to use today to say a special thank you to all the teachers across Higgins. 01.01.2022 The Morrison Government will make an additional $100 million investment to continue leading the world and our region in how we manage our ocean habitats and coastal environments and contribute to the global task of reducing emissions. The package will support Australian Marine Parks, expand the Indigenous Protected Areas into Sea Country, and protect marine life. Boosting seagrass and mangroves will help cut emissions.... We will invest in cleaner beaches, lower fisheries bycatch, more fish stocks, better protection for turtles and seabirds, and provide further help for coastal and Indigenous communities reliant on the ocean for their livelihoods. When we protect our ocean, we protect both our environment and our economic growth. One serves the other.
