25.01.2022 Katiecare has a new baby/toddler area, with low child safe mirrors, a cruising bar that doubles as a Mobile, and soft sensory mat, the children are really enjoying sharing this area, its great for tummy time, practice walking, pulling themselves up, mirror play, reaching etc... even the big kids are enjoying it too.

24.01.2022 A Bucket with a small amount of water and a drop of food colouring can provide hours of painting fun!

Mirrored blocks are available on the market for top dollar, but i had some left over contact mirrors about $10 ebay and a small box of blocks that a family had donated a few years ago, with a bit of time and effort wahlah! Mirrored blocks ready to Provide many learning opportunities.

We are holding our very on LIVE AID Concert here at Katiecare, every ticket sold goes to raise money for Research for SIDS. There has been some great acts on already this week.

17.01.2022 With our water restrictions we have been limited to how much water play we can engage in, teaching the children to be wise with how we use our water, however with last nights lovely down pour we have been able to water the garden, have tea party’s, splash in it and use it for our cooking in the mud kitchen already so many uses and learning opportunities to make use of the water that pooled on the sandpit tarp.

I’ve been off on a much needed break with my own family but spending the last few weeks preparing Katiecare with some great new upgrades and lots of maintenance. 15.01.2022 Continuing on with our Mirror, reflections and symmetry play, the children have been painting onto mirrors, after first experimenting with their reflections of course .

15.01.2022 Luna New Year is celebrated all across Asia in spring time they are blessed with lots of beautiful Cherry blossom trees blooming so we thought we could make our own bonsai cherry blossom trees. Collecting little sticks from our yard Crepe paper for our blossoms and sand to help them stand up. The children used their developing scissor skills to cut their little lanterns out of Japanese paper too.

Children can become more connected with their Natural environment at this time of year, as some children are noticing these changes perhaps for the first time. Exploring with our senses helps us understand and perceive the world around us.
