25.01.2022 Beautiful feedback from a beautiful client

25.01.2022 I've been a little MIA on here lately sorry! Juggling my clients with uni and home schooling has got me on my toes! How is everyone else coping during this time?

25.01.2022 We are all starting to prepare for Baby Lowe to join us earthside! And with under 12 weeks to go I've been meaning to update you all on my maternity leave plans. I say 'plans' loosely because I am going to leave it pretty open as far as how long I will want to take off, but it will likely be between 3-6 months. ... I will keep you all updated, and my 1:1 clients will receive emails in advance to book in for when I return. For now, you can still book in up until the first week of April 2021. Hope you're all having a great week!

25.01.2022 Hi all! This is just a quick note to let everyone know that I will be taking a little break from the 18th Dec until the 4th Jan 2021 to spend some time with my family. If you don't already have an appointment booked and need to see me before then, please get in touch.

24.01.2022 ...And it's tools down for this pregnant mama! Just finished my last client session before my maternity leave. Looking forward to some rest and relaxation before life gets busy with our new little bundle of joy. ... I want to thank all of my amazing clients for their love and support, I feel so lucky to be working with you all. I'll be back before you know it, and you are all doing FANTASTIC! Which makes taking a break so much easier for me. I'll still be about on here I'm sure, and will share the news when bubba arrives. Have a wonderful Easter and take care! xxx

It's helpful for me to know whether you guys would prefer written posts or videos for my tips and tricks? ... Let me know below or msg me! Thx!

22.01.2022 Beautiful morning

22.01.2022 In positive psychology we don't 'ignore' the negative aspects of a situation, instead we try to broaden our view of the situation by focusing on our strengths, and adopting a solution focused approach. Try asking yourself some of these questions next time you are struggling with a problem... Because sometimes when all we focus on is the 'problem' itself, all we can see is the problem! Making it hard to feel hopeful that there is a solution or positive outcome available to... us. Shifting our mindset so that we can see solutions and tools to move through our struggles can be very empowering.

21.01.2022 Millie living her best life. Hope you've had a great weekend!

21.01.2022 Issue 33 of ebubble life is out now! This month I talk about how to recognise the signs of burnout. Burnout tends to creep up over time, most people don’t know it’s even happening until it’s too late.... Our bodies can get so used to being in a constant state of stress that we start to think it’s normal to feel that way. This is why it’s so important if you are under stress to become familiar with the signs that you are headed towards burnout before you hit the wall! Click the link below to check out the full article https://ebubblelife.com/how-to-recognize-the-signs-of-burn/

20.01.2022 Good reasons I say!

20.01.2022 All of our emotions can co-exist! We can be happy & sad Scared & hopeful... Disappointed & grateful... Allow yourself to feel all of it. Just because you feel sad, anxious or upset does not mean that you cannot also experience joy & gratitude.

20.01.2022 That's a wrap! Thank you everyone for such a fantastic year! The way that my beautiful clients have adapted and rolled with all the changes due to covid has been amazing. It has made my job so much easier, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to help so many wonderful people this year. Zoom has become my new best friend! (Well most of the time anyway) ... I'm not gonna lie - I was worried about how covid would impact my little business, but I have been overwhelmed by all the love & support from my amazing clients. Goes to show that sometimes you just have to surrender and see what happens! Millie & I are ready to kick back for a few weeks but will be back from Jan 4th ready to start off another awesome year! Also, as many of you already know, I am expecting another little bubba next April/May, so will only be taking new clients up until February but will share more on this soon. Thanks again, and I look forward to seeing you all in 2021!

19.01.2022 These days, children spend more and more time indoors looking at screens, resulting in a disconnection from nature. Studies have shown important links between child mental wellbeing, and access to green space, with a plethora of evidence highlighting the mental, social and physical benefits of our kiddies being out in nature. So what are these amazing benefits? And how can you take advantage of them?...... https://www.katielowe.com.au/how-nature-can-benefit-your-c/

19.01.2022 Questions to ask yourself next time you are stressed or stuck in a cycle of negative thinking. Our brains have a natural negative bias, and it can be super easy to develop negative thought pathways that we default to every time. #negativenancy That is why it is super helpful to practice challenging our thoughts and exploring different perspectives!

19.01.2022 Great check in for healthier social media habits!

18.01.2022 Little reminder!! Your best is enough!!

18.01.2022 In the interest of transparency I thought I should share why I've been a little quieter over here. Our beautiful, sweet Millie has been diagnosed with acute leukemia. It has all been VERY sudden and we are completely heartbroken. We won't have very long with her before she will leave us, so we have been spending alot of time with her making her happy and just soaking up her love and light. ... Such a tricky space to be in for me right now, as I prepare to bring a new life into the world, I also prepare to say goodbye to a beautiful member of our family that I adore and had never thought would leave us so soon. All the pregnancy hormones are making sure I am feeling every bit of this process just that little more intensely, so this is one of those times where I just need to surrender to all the feels and take each day as it comes.

17.01.2022 One of the most common questions I get asked as a health coach is what should I snack on!? So I've created a free healthy & easy snack ideas list to help give you some inspiration. Remember, healthy eating should not be about deprivation, it is all about balance! katielowe.com.au/healthy-snack-list/

17.01.2022 Everyone else is taken!

16.01.2022 Even though it feels like it sometimes!! Our emotions and state are always changing, and nothing is ever permanent. Whenever you're having a difficult moment, day, week - remind yourself that it won't always be this way - "this too shall pass"

16.01.2022 Yesterday morning the monkey chatter in my brain was next level. As I sat on my yoga mat to start my daily practice, I felt a lot of resistance when trying to quiet my mind. I wanted to stop yoga and go back to sorting all the stuff racing around my mind. It felt easier to do that...... But I didn't. I stuck with it. I acknowledged within myself that my resistance just meant that I needed to do the yoga even more right now. After around 5-10 minutes of practice, I was present in my breath and my body, and my mind had stopped racing. And afterwards, I was able to revisit all the issues I was worried about with a clearer, calmer mindset. Even though getting still and present feels super uncomfortable when we are experiencing anxiety or stress, that just means that we need it even more!! Remember that anxiety only gives the illusion of control. It's OK to let go and just breathe. Sometimes all we need is to pause and move into our body to break the cycle.

16.01.2022 Reminder for anyone who needs it today

15.01.2022 Hope your weekend has been as relaxing as Millie's #dogslife

14.01.2022 Lest we forget #thankyou

13.01.2022 Anxiety comes in many different shapes and forms. Sometimes, if you have what is referred to as high functioning anxiety - it can be difficult to notice it in yourself. Sometimes anxiety can actually be a useful driving force that allows people to succeed (), BUT it can also often get out of control and cause issues, and this is when we need to acknowledge it and seek help.

13.01.2022 The latest edition of ebubble life is out now featuring my newest article about how to give back to your community https://ebubblelife.com/5-ways-to-give-back-to-your-commun/

13.01.2022 I am super excited to share that I am now working with a fantastic online lifestyle magazine called E-Bubble Life writing about all things wellbeing! This month I talk about the very important topic of mental health - and how to maintain good mental health. It's what we do each day that matters!... We don't just brush our teeth once a fortnight and expect to keep healthy teeth do we?? Those 2 minutes each morning and night matter! It's the same with mental health - just a few minutes each day taking care of our mind makes a huge difference! Please check it out and share with anyone you feel might benefit! https://ebubblelife.com/considering-mental-health/

13.01.2022 You are not your anxiety - or your depression. You are a person experiencing anxious or depressive symptoms... Neither state is permanent, and they are not 'who' you are.... Every day is a new chance to shift your state and begin again. Don't give up

10.01.2022 Yes!! Life is happening now!

10.01.2022 More tips on motivation for you! Checking in with your future self...

09.01.2022 I talk about this alot in my videos and with my clients. When we have what we consider to be 'bad habits', there is ALWAYS a reason that we keep on doing those things. These habits are giving you something that is keeping you stuck in that cycle... e.g. eating a whole block of chocolate tastes amazing and gives you a dopamine hit - and staying home and watching Netflix in bed instead of going for a walk/run is warm and comforting. ... When we stop and take a closer look at our habits, we can move out of our subconscious, and bring intention to our daily thoughts, feelings and actions to create sustainable change. Get honest with yourself... Which habits aren't serving you any more?? What actions can you focus on to replace these dopamine hits that these unhelpful habits have been giving you??

09.01.2022 Final video on motivation! Here I explain how motivation works, and share some practical tips to get you started!

09.01.2022 Lower your expectations of yourself during this time. Especially if your anxiety is high right now. Be kind to yourself and take it day by day. ... Tomorrow is a new day ... & your best is always enough

09.01.2022 Repeat after me...

08.01.2022 Love this by @selfcareisapriority When things aren't going great, try to keep your perspective and remind yourself that challenges are always temporary. You're still allowed to feel all the feels

07.01.2022 I'm still too emotional to find the right words, but I thought I should share with you all that my beautiful Millie passed on to doggy heaven last week. We are all heartbroken and missing her so much already. Grateful to have had the last 7 years with her in our family. She was such a sweet pup full of love and light

07.01.2022 I tell my clients this all the time! Healing is not linear! A bad day or two does not mean that you are not progressing. ... It just means that you are human Every day is a chance to begin again.

07.01.2022 We see what we look for! It's really easy to notice all the negatives right now, but what can be super helpful in times like this is to consciously notice all the positives around us. What is good in your life today?

07.01.2022 The Australian Government will provide 10 additional Medicare subsidised psychological therapy sessions for people subjected to further restrictions in areas impacted by the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

07.01.2022 If you or someone you care about suffer from anxiety, then you know that it can be tricky to find natural remedies that can help. Now for some much needed rest

05.01.2022 Someone is a bit sooky now the kids are back at school. I've loved hearing from you over the past week on how you are going with sticking to your healthy habits! I wanted to share a couple more quick tips for sticking to your healthy routines that I find super helpful to keep on track:... put your workout / gym clothes out the night before ready to go. prepare your snacks the night before - make up containers of fruit/nuts/protein balls etc. ready to grab & go set yourself reminders to drink more water throughout the day schedule in your self care each week on the calendar so that your family can see what you need surround yourself with supportive, encouraging people including on social media! download a mindfulness app and set reminders to practice each day and remember to keep checking in with your future self - how will you feel at the end of the day or next week if you do / don't take care of yourself??? Remember - one step at a time. Start where you are. You've got this!!

05.01.2022 MORNING ANXIETY Waking up anxious is horrible! For some people this happens frequently and can really take a toll on their wellbeing. This is something that I suffered from badly when I was unwell. I dreaded going to bed at night because I knew what was coming in the morning. ... I know first hand how debilitating it can be, so I wanted to share some tips on how to manage it if and when it pops up for you. The first thing to understand is that our cortisol (stress hormone) levels are at their highest in the morning, so already they are higher than they are throughout the day. Add to that the physical toll of anxiety - and this explains why morning anxiety can be so debilitating! There are things that you can do to help calm your nervous system and break the cycle of morning anxiety, here are my top tips: 1. Keep a regular sleep routine - try your best to go to bed and rise at a similar time each day. Making sure that you are getting enough quality sleep. A calming bedtime routine will really help soothe your nervous system at night. 2. Get out of bed! - Although it can 'feel' safer to stay in bed when you are feeling anxious, it is actually a bad idea. Make sure you hop up and start your morning routine, even if it feels uncomfortable at first. 3. Create a morning ritual - whether this is simply making your bed, having a shower and making breakfast. Having a routine where you can feel a sense of accomplishment is really important. * Also important that you don't get into the habit of looking at your phone first thing! 4. Stop searching for the anxiety - this is a big one! It can become a habit to check for anxiety first thing every morning as soon as you wake up. If you wake up and immediately think 'am I anxious??', this habit can end up perpetuating anxiety and can actually create a vicious cycle. 5. Avoid stimulants before bed and first thing- sorry but this includes alcohol, coffee and sugar...boring I know! But stimulants can wreak havoc with the body, which is not good for an already overstimulated nervous system. 6. Move your body - If you have time, it's a really good idea to do even just 10-15 minutes of exercise. Stretching, yoga, or going for a walk will help burn off those stress hormones and chemicals.

04.01.2022 It ain't weak to speak!

04.01.2022 Timely little reminder for you...

02.01.2022 Yes to this!! Every step counts!!

02.01.2022 If things feel big and overwhelming - try breaking them down into smaller manageable chunks. The important thing is to just start! Whether that's cleaning one room at a time, going for 2 walks a week, making your bed in the morning, or adding in 1 piece of fruit or veg a day.... Write yourself a list of small steps you can take each day, and tick them off as you go! Whatever your goals, remember that it's the little habits that make a big difference and there is no race! Start where you are!

02.01.2022 Today and everyday sending love and hope to anyone who is struggling or going through a rough time right now. Remember that you are not alone, and that there is always hope. The rainy days don't last forever.

01.01.2022 Such a hard life Just a little reminder to put yourself first today. Good mental health is a process, so don't put off those little things that you know are good for you today

01.01.2022 It's so important for us to accept both our positive and negative emotions. Especially at times like these. We need both positive and negative experiences and emotions in order to achieve wellbeing.... Think about it - without the bad, there would be no concept of the good. This doesn't mean that we should let the negative take over - it's all about balance. But there is no need to feel bad or down on yourself for experiencing unpleasant emotions. It is all a part of being human. Life isn't all butterflies and rainbows , it's also snails and rain . It's about learning to accept unpleasant thoughts and feelings as they arise, without attaching too much meaning to them. They are only thoughts and feelings. And you are not your thoughts or feelings. We can learn to thrive on the other side of challenges, and we can learn to recognise the gifts in adversity. So allow your full range of emotions to visit, but just like with your relatives, don't let the annoying ones stay too long .
