22.01.2022 Very pleased to represent Women in Business in the latest Focus magazine.

22.01.2022 Coffs Coast women can apply for a grant of up to $5,000 through the NSW Government’s new $10 million Return to Work program, as part of the 2020-21 NSW Budget. ...The grants can be used for a wide range of needs to help local women return to work. There are so many costs involved in starting up again, so it is great that women looking to return to work will be able to use these grants towards things like training and education, textbooks or stationery. We are looking to empower as many women as possible to be able to get back into paid employment. The grants program will provide women with financial assistance and targeted support including mentoring, advice and training to help them return to the workforce. These grants will help women whose employment has been affected by COVID-19 to overcome some of the obstacles in the way of returning to the workforce. 16.01.2022 True or False: You can claim a standard $300 deduction in your tax return for work-related expenses? False! There is no such thing as an ’automatic’ or ‘stand...ard deduction’. There are limited circumstances where receipts may not be required. You still need to calculate your claim on a reasonable basis, have spent the money and show the expense was related to earning your income. Find out the records you need at www.ato.gov.au//Income-and-deduc/Records-you-need-to-keep/

14.01.2022 Audit Insurance to include JobKeeper Audits. It is inevitable, after the 6 months JobKeeper runs its course, the ATO will start their audit and review of employer JobKeeper eligibility and whether or not all i's have been dotted and t's crossed. This can be a costly exercise in either time and/or money. You may want to consider insuring your business for Audit cover so in the event of an audit, the insurance will cover a set value of accounting fees. For more information see... http://www.accountancyinsurance.com.au/jobkeeper-payment-/

14.01.2022 I wanted to wish all my clients a wonderful Christmas and New Year. It has been a challenging year for all of us with the highs and lows of COVID-19. Through this adversity, I feel the business community has strengthened and I am proud to have been a part of that journey (although I'm very happy to kick 2020 to the kurb ). When the COVID government assistance programs were released, it involved a lot of extra work for accountants and sometimes my head was just above water......So I wanted to thank you for your patience. I continue to feel very grateful for the loyalty and support I am shown...even when at times my phone rings out or when my 4 year old answers! I also wanted to thank Danielle Hemming, my super star administrator, who is a very valued employee. I am also very pleased to announce you will see a new face in the office from 1st February 2021. I look forward to introducing you all to her so watch this space. Please enjoy this well deserved break and soak up as much love from family and friends as you can! Until next year...

11.01.2022 TAX TIME IS COMING...SO WHEN CAN YOU LODGE? You may be wondering...when you will receive your Payg Summary in order to lodge your Individual Income Tax Return for 2019/20? For employers with 19 or fewer employees, you have until 31 July 2020 to make the finalisation declaration. For more information you can always contact your employer or payroll officer.
