25.01.2022 Week 1 of the season starts this coming Saturday. We want to start at 8:30 sharp so please arrive at 8:15 so you have enough time to complete your COVID registration and collect your wrist band for the day. See you then If you haven't registered yet, there is no need to be alarmed. Registration is still open through the Little Athletics NSW website at www.lansw.com.au Once you register, then come along to any competition day to collect your season competitor number and purchase any uniform that you may need. Unfortunately we cannot allow people to compete unless they have registered.

25.01.2022 Registration for the 2019 / 2020 season has opened. Returning or new athletes can register via the Little Athletics NSW website at www.lansw.com.au and follow the links. The season will start at the end of September We’d love you see you all back for an exciting new season.

25.01.2022 A reminder about our end of season AGM and awards presentation on 19 May 2019 at 2:00pm at Wentworth Falls Public School hall in Falls Rd, Wentworth Falls. See you there

24.01.2022 Happy New Year everyone! We hope that you all had a good break. We are scheduled to return to competition this coming Saturday but we will need to see if Blue Mountains City Council opens the ovals and what the smoke situation is. At the moment all BMCC ovals remains closed due to bushfire operations. Keep an eye on this Facebook page and we'll update things as we know more.

24.01.2022 IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR REGION CHAMPIONSHIPS this weekend. You will be aware of the potential for high temperatures this weekend at Region, thankfully nowhere near as hot as 3 years ago. This evening, the Region committee discussed options to ensure we can complete the programmed events in relation to the heat. ... Saturday will proceed as published, if temperatures reach a point that require us to suspend competition then those events will be pushed back till 5pm or a time that the temperatures allow. Listen to announcements at Barden Park and monitor this Facebook page if we need to make these changes. On Sunday as we cannot push events into the late afternoon as families need time to travel home safely, we have made the following changes; The 200m for all age groups will be Timed Finals (exactly as the 400m events are), run at the published time for the heats, The Relays will be run at the conclusion of the 800m. The 800m events are scheduled to begin at 12.55 as per the current program. However, the races will be run in published order but as soon as possible so athletes need to ensure they are there well in advance of the published start time. This is a critical change for athletes to be aware of. IF we suffer issues from dust storms, like Dubbo did a couple weeks ago, then Management will have re-evaluate the situation on the day and do whatever is possible to complete events safely. Therefore families MUST stay informed via Zone or centre social media.

23.01.2022 The FINAL program and entrants list for the 2019 Western Ranges Zone Championships is available on our website at www.kdlac.org Please make sure that you take note of event times and that all athletes are at marshalling at least 30minutes before scheduled start times. The championships run to a timed program and announcements will NOT be made. If an athlete misses their event start time, they will miss their event

23.01.2022 We are very proud to have hosted the first Combined Multi event held in our Zone for quite some years. A fantastic day for everyone and great to see so many Centres represented including some who travelled quite a distance. We hope that everyone had a great and relaxing day of competition. Days like this can only be a success with the support of so many people. We'd like to thank Springwood Little Athletics for supplying and staffing the timing gates but also the event Officials who came from across the Zone and beyond, our many parent helpers, our Pitt Park set up & pack up crews, canteen helpers, Marcus & Jess from Cafe 2 U and Blue Mountains City Council to helping prepare the grounds during the week. We'd like to wish everyone a Safe and Merry Christmas and looking forward to catching up again in the New Year.

23.01.2022 We did it! We got our Program B in today for about 50 athletes. Hoooray! Thank you to everyone who could make it. A short program but a good one. The track was in wonderful condition after the rain and TLC this week. A big thank you to Marcus from Café to U who came in on his day off too. Much appreciated Marcus. You're a legend!... See you all next week. Hurdles with any luck!

23.01.2022 Sorry folks but Council has closed all sporting fields so Pitt Park is officially shut for the weekend. Have a sleep in and we'll try next weekend.

22.01.2022 Owing to the ongoing development of the COVID-19 response, we have decided that the final week of the current Little Athletics season planned for this Saturday 21st March will be cancelled. After lengthy consideration of the positions being taken by sporting codes across Sydney and as the situation that led to last week's cancellation has not abated, we feel that this is the most appropriate course of action. This is a disappointing end to a very disrupted second half to our... athletics season. We've made every effort to offer competition around the fires, big wet and nor COVID-19 but alas it wasn't to be. The committee is currently looking at the AGM and Presentation day in mid May. We will send information out as soon as things are locked down. Its all subject to change though at this stage. Thank you for your patience with us this season. We hope to see you all back next season and look forward to a better 20/21 with registrations in August. In the meantime please look after yourselves and stay healthy.

22.01.2022 At least we got some events in this morning before we cancelled the second half of the track program due to smoke. Hopefully we'll have some cleaner air next week. We'll keep everyone informed.

21.01.2022 Entries for the Western Ranges Zone Combined event are now open. Entries and payment can be made at www.westernrangeszone.org Follow the link to the Combined Event at the top of the website and complete all steps. Remember that entries are capped to 200 athletes.

21.01.2022 Financial members of Katoomba Little Athletics have been sent an invitation to join our Team App site. Please have a look at the email and follow the instructions. We hope to be able to use Team App to keep everyone updated of events, training etc through the season

20.01.2022 URGENT UPDATE REGARDING STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS. Details on the LANSW website.... https://lansw.com.au/little-athletics-new-south-wales-stat/ We're reviewing what we do at Katoomba this weekend and will advise asap.

20.01.2022 Entries for the 2019 Zone Championships are open and close strictly on 28th October. The Zone Championships will be held on Saturday the 30 November and Sunday the 1 December 2019 at Blacktown International Athletics Centre and are open to any registered athlete in the U7 age group upwards. There is no cost to Katoomba Centre athletes. The entry process has changes this year. Entries are managed at a Club level this year. 20.01.2022 Its almost that time of year again! Registrations open on 1 August. As with last season, all registrations will be through the Little Athletics NSW website. Katoomba's competition starts late September. Keep an eye here and we'll keep you updated when the registration system is open and when we have updated information for you.... We're looking forward to an exciting new season!

19.01.2022 We had a fantastic day with our #ColesCommunityRound last Saturday 13th March. A huge thank you to the manager of Coles Katoomba, Todd, for coming along on the day, handing out some prizes, starting some races and getting amongst it. Thanks everyone and thank you Coles for supporting Little Athletics.

19.01.2022 Please note that Blue Mountains City Council has closed all sporting fields due to the wet. Accordingly Pitt Park is also closed. We ask that people don't use the athletics field until such time as Council reopens it so that we minimise any damage. Thanks

19.01.2022 Competition at Pitt Park today (16th March) is CANCELLED. It has been raining all night in Wentworth Falls, continues to do so this morning and is forecast to continue for the day. Sorry folks. We look forward to seeing everyone at our end of season Gala next week (23rd March) at Pitt Park. Good luck to everyone completing at the State Championships this weekend. These Championships are still ON.

19.01.2022 Guidance for Katoomba families travelling to Dubbo this weekend for the Region 3 Region Championships The weather will be hot in Dubbo this weekend. Please take the following into account: 1. Read the important updated information for changes to the Sunday program on our previous post... 2. Ensure that everyone has a hat and sunscreen. Hydration is very important too. It will be hot 3. We strongly recommend that you take with you from home adequate supplies of water. Dubbo is on severe water restrictions and we have been advised that bulk bottled water can sometimes be in short supply. We should also do the right thing for the people of Dubbo and ensure that they have adequate water for themselves. So taking some out would manage that. 4. Take care driving on country roads, especially at dusk and dawn. The drought has brought many kangaroos and other animals closer to the roads in search of food and water. We all need to take care for ourselves and the animals 5. Dust storms are common out west this time of year especially with the drought. When they occur visibility is significantly reduced. Drive tot he conditions and monitor the weather. See you all in Dubbo.

18.01.2022 The start of the season isn't far away, so don't forget to register. Registrations are all through the NSW Little Athletics website at www.lansw,com.au Some important information for those who have registered or intend to register at Katoomba Little As: 1. Once you have registered, you must attend the Katoomba Little Athletics Centre registration day on Saturday 21 September 2019 at Pitt Park, Wentworth Falls between 11am and 2pm in order to finalise your registration by col...lecting your athlete competition number and age patches for the season. Please bring your registration receipt with you. If you cannot attend, you must visit the canteen on your first day of attendance to collect your competition number and finalise your season registration. 2. Our pre-season trial day will be on Saturday 28th September at Pitt Park from 8:30 - 10:30 (ish). This is both the Trial Day for anyone who is considering joining and as a warm up for those who have registered. If you are trialing, you must pre-register at www.lansw.com.au though as you would for a normal registration but select Trial rather than an age group. 3. The first week of the season is Saturday 5th October. Normal start time of 8:30am.

18.01.2022 We have consulted widely on the impacts of Coronavirus and looked at what this may mean for Katoomba Little Athletics. We have a large number of our athletes at Katoomba High School which was closed today and we also live in a close community in the upper Blue Mountains. Based on information to hand we feel that the chance of the transfer of any virus at athletics is very low and the risk is readily manageable. However, following lead of Little Athletics NSW, other sportin...g codes and the actions taken by the Dept Education it is in the best interests our members, their families and the community that we cancel Little Athletics at Katoomba this weekend. At this stage we do not know if we will be able to run next weekend either. We will need to evaluate this during the week.

17.01.2022 Numbers were a bit down yesterday and the morning quite chilly, but we had a great morning in any case. Thanks to everyone who is chipping in. We still need more people involved though. Many hands make light work as they say. A reminder about safety in and around athletics. We can't stress enough to stay out of the throw and jump zones. Discuses, shot puts, javelins and athletes can be quite unforgiving if you collide with one!... See you all next week for program B

17.01.2022 Hi everyone. Our last competition day before Christmas will be Saturday 21st December. It'll be a modified program A. We will return on Saturday 11th January.

17.01.2022 Sorry but today's competition is cancelled. It continues to rain here in Wentworth Falls. Pitt Park has not recovered sufficiently from the rains of the past 48 hours to be in safe condition for competition. See you al next week.

17.01.2022 The records that were set at Dubbo last weekend at the Region 3 State Qualifier have been released. A huge congratulations and well done to Thomas Loy who set a new Region 3 record in the U12 Boys 80m hurdles. Great effort!!

17.01.2022 Sorry folks but the weather in Wentworth Falls isn't great this morning with consistent rain and poor visibility. Our track is quite boggy too. So competition for today is CANCELLED. See you all next week for our Program A from 8:30am. In addition to Program A we'll also run the track events for 8-17 year olds that we missed last week starting at 8am.

17.01.2022 A reminder that if you have a club awarded blue or red polo for your representative honours and have made Region or state this year, then we need you to bring it to competition cleaned next week so that we can get it embroidered for this year’s presentation.

17.01.2022 Hi folks, just a heads up that our coffee man, Marcus, will NOT be at Pitt Park this Saturday. So you'll need to get your caffeine fix before hand or some other way. He'll be there next Saturday but only until 9:30 though. Sorry for any inconvenience

16.01.2022 Hi folks. We're getting some queries coming through regarding Region 3 records from last weekend. All team managers were advised on Sunday morning that Region r...ecords would be recognised from the weekend. We are currently updating the results sheets from all events and, once checked, they will be published. We'll get this done as soon as we can. See more

16.01.2022 A reminder that registrations for the coming Little Athletics season are now open. Register online through the Little Athletics NSW website at www.lansw.com.au We are looking to start our Katoomba season at the beginning of October but you must be registered to participate. Remember that you can use your Active Kids voucher for Little Athletics. Please carefully read the details at the front the registration portal to ensure that you use the voucher correctly as we cannot refund it once it is used.

16.01.2022 Entries have closed for the Zone Multi Event being hosted at Katoomba Club this coming weekend. The Zone Committee is now working on developing the program for Sunday based on numbers of entries in each age group and will share it once it is complete. Until then all age groups should assume that first call for events is at 945am with events starting at 10am sharp. The weather for Sunday is a changing feast at the moment. Wentworth Falls can also have a little micro-climate of its own. We are aware of forecast rain but everyone should assume that the event is proceeding unless we say otherwise on the Western Ranges Zone Facebook page. We will not be making any decision on cancellations until 7am on Sunday morning.

15.01.2022 Ok so the weather gods have been kind-ish for us. Weather is overcast and cool (14 degrees), so we're going to go ahead and run a MODIFIED program B for anyone that can turn up. We say "modified" because much will depend on numbers and the condition of the field in all spaces. So we may not be able to run every event (eg High jump), but we'll give it a go. First event (including 3000m) is at 10am

15.01.2022 IMPORTANT REMINDER Katoomba Little Athletics will not have local competition at Pitt Park on Saturday 1st Feb due to the Regional Championships at Dubbo. We hope to resume on Saturdays on 8th February.

15.01.2022 Registration for the coming 2020/21 season will open on the Little Athletics NSW website on 15th August. All registrations for the coming season must be undertaken online through the LANSW portal. Katoomba has kept registrations fees for this season flat owing to the COVID environment and the loss of some weeks at the end of the previous season. The Katoomba Centre registration day to collect your athlete number for the coming season and purchase any uniform will be on Sunda...y 20th September at Pitt Park between 11am & 2pm. Athletes must be financial and have a 2020/21 season competitor number in order to compete this season. Katoomba season trial day will be Saturday 3rd October at 8:30 - 1030am. This is open to all registered athletes and those who are specifically trialing. Week 1 of the new competition season will be on Saturday 10th October with the usual 8:30am start. 15.01.2022 Hi all Due to the wet and unsafe conditions little A's is cancelled for today at Pitt Park 25th January.

15.01.2022 Council has closed all grounds across the Mountains due to the recent weather and won't be reviewing anything until next week. 15.01.2022 For those folk who need to drop off polo shirts for embroiding or be sized for polo shirts for region / state representation, we will have Jo at our Pitt Park canteen between 0930-1030 on Saturday 21 March.

14.01.2022 Hi everyone. Western Ranges Zone advise that they have now received 100 entries for the Western Ranges Combined event. They cannot accept further registrations once they reach 200. So we recommend people register promptly to avoid disappointment.

14.01.2022 Little Athletics NSW have announced the confirmed entries for the 2020/21 Youth State Championships (U13-17). Information on successful athletes and their events is available on the Little Athletics NSW Championships page at: https://lansw.com.au/championships/ Congratulations to everyone and good luck.

14.01.2022 Today's end of season gala day is Cancelled. We're really disappointed but the rain of last week topped of with yesterday afternoon's heavy storm has left Pitt Park very soggy, soft under foot and flooded. Looking at the field this morning we can't even find a spot that we could run some fun events safely. Its a sad way to end our season especially as we've had a good run and this gala day was to repace our washed out Christmas one! That's the way it goes some time.... We'll see you all at our end of season AGM and awards presentation on 19 May 2019 at 2:00pm at Wentworth Falls Public School hall in Falls Rd, Wentworth Falls. A huge thank you to everyone who was able to help out this year with Age Managing, measuing, recording, timekeeping, place judging, setup/pack up and BBQ. We couldn't make Little As work without you. Also thanks to Marcus from Cafe 2 U who kept us caffinated. Next seaosn will start at the end of September. Keep an eye on the Facebook page and website. Enjoy your winter sport of choice or even break.

14.01.2022 A reminder that we will NOT be running competition at Pitt Park on 30th November as the Zone Championships are running at Blacktown. For everyone competing at Zone, keep a close eye on both this Facebook page and the Western Ranges Zone Facebook page regarding announcements for those Zone Championships just in case last minutes changes are made due to weather. Good luck to everyone competing at the Zone Championships.... See every back at Pitt Park on 7th December.

14.01.2022 A reminder that between 11am and 2pm today at Pitt Park canteen is your opportunity to complete your registration for the coming season and collect your season number and purchase any uniform. You must be registered and financial on the Little Athletics NSW website before you attend Pitt Park. Please bring your confirmation email with you to Pitt Park. We will be enforcing our COVID plan at Pitt Park, so please ensure that you socially distance and use hand sanitizer. Please do not attend if you are ill or should be in isolation. There will be other opportunities to collect your registration number and uniform.

13.01.2022 Letting everyone know that our coffee man, Marcus, won't be at Pitt Park on Saturday 29th. So you may need to pre-load with your caffeine before our hurdles morning..... See you there

13.01.2022 Unfortunately we have received notification this afternoon that Blue Mountains City Council has closed all of its sporting fields from Thursday until Sunday of this week. This means that our planned Saturday competition for 21st December is CANCELLED. We're sorry folks but you can now enjoy an earlier break leading into Christmas. We'll see you all back at Pitt Park on Saturday 11th January to recommence competition for the back half of the season. The Committee would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year

13.01.2022 Hi folks. Its great to get our season underway. We're hopeful of running hurdles this week but much will depend on what happens with the forecast rain on Friday / Saturday and how wet our track is. If its too wet but we're able to compete, we may run Program A instead and catch up on Program C the following week. Fingers crossed. See you on Saturday. Remember that if competition is cancelled, we will update the Facebook page and Wet Weather line (9294 3680) AFTER 7:30am.

13.01.2022 The timed program for the Region 3 Region Championships to be held at Dubbo on 1st & 2nd February is available on the Katoomba Centre website at www.kdlac.org in the News at the bottom of the main page. Remember that these championships are for qualifying athletes only. it is also a TIMED program so please ensure that you read the program carefully and pay specific attention to the details for marshalling times, uniform and the rules.

12.01.2022 Since we've lost a few weeks in the New Year with the bushfires and now rain, the Katoomba Little Athletics committee has decided to run some alternative competition options on selected week nights subject to weather, light and interest. We will re-evaluate after each session and advise the next session on our Facebook page. Normal Saturdays will continue as per our usual guidelines and notifications. The first of these extra sessions will be on the coming Tuesday 28th Janu...ary from 5:30 - 7:30pm at Pitt Park. We will be running Program A. Thank you for your ongoing support while we navigate this second half of the season. We hope to see as many of you as possible on Tuesday evening. REMEMBER that we will not have local competition at Pitt Park on Saturday 1st Feb due to the Regional Championships at Dubbo. We hope to resume on Saturdays on 8th February.

Well done all. The qualifiers for the U13-17 have not been released yet.

12.01.2022 How good is this rain?! Unfortunately Pitt Park isn't responding too well to the heavy and constant rain we've had in the past 24 hours and is very slippery and boggy. Our inspection this afternoon wasn't great. So, we're going to need to cancel competition on Saturday 18th. Sorry everyone! Glenbrook or Springwood may well be running in the morning. Check their Facebook pages. You will be more than welcome to compete there if they are running.... Hopefully we see you all on Saturday 25th!

11.01.2022 Hi folks. Council has opened its ovals and advised all users to undertake risk assessments prior to use. We have inspected Pitt Park and determined that it is not in any condition to undertake any sporting activity for at least 48-72 hours due to the amount of standing water across the field and track. Walking on the track is unacceptably dangerous across most parts so running in any form is out of the question. The use of any of the southern long jump, discus and shot put ar...eas is too unsafe. So, unfortunately competition for Saturday 27th February is CANCELLED. If you are keen for some sport consider Emu Plains this evening if they are running, Springwood if they are running or heading further east. We hope to see you all next week. Fingers crossed.....

10.01.2022 Don't forget to register for the coming season. Registrations are all through the NSW Little Athletics website at www.lansw.com.au You must register before you attend our season registration day on Saturday 21 September 2019 at Pitt Park, Wentworth Falls between 11am and 2pm in order to finalise your registration by collecting your athlete competition number and age patches for the season. Please bring your registration receipt with you. If you cannot attend, you must visit the canteen on your first day of attendance to collect your competition number and finalise your season registration.

10.01.2022 The 2019 / 2020 Little Athletics Rules of Competition and Event Specifications have been released. There have been some minor changes to event specifications. The biggest impact is in hurdles where U11 & U12 will now run 80m up form the previous 60m. An updated Katoomba competition program for the season and the Event Specifications have been uplodaded to the Katoomba Little Athletics website at www.kdlac.org

09.01.2022 We've had some questions this morning about whether we're going ahead. In short, YES, we are still ON this morning. We'll re-evaluate as the morning goes along

09.01.2022 The outlook for weather is not on our side at the moment for State Championships this weekend, and we are receiving a lot of enquiries. We currently plan to pr...oceed as planned however there may be postponements and delays (and let’s all have ourfor no cancellations). We do need to remember though that the safety of our kids is the number one priority. There is limited cover however handheld umbrellas are allowed, along with gumboots and massive wet weather coats. No marquee structures however are allowed into the venue. We know things can change so decisions won’t be made until the day of competition. Let’s hope for some .

09.01.2022 A reminder that next Saturday, 20th Feb, is also our Coles round at Katoomba. We have some awards to hand out through the morning from our major sponsor Coles. We're going to be taking a Club photo immediately after warm up and before competition too. So we'd love everyone to wear as much red a possible - it helps that our Club colours and Red and Blue anyway. We'll also be handing out red and white socks on the day too (we only have limited stock though). See you then

09.01.2022 Hi everyone, We hope that you and your families are well during this unusual time. The restrictions on gatherings and slow return to something like normal means that we have to make some big changes to the way that we run the annual season awards presentation and the Club Annual General Meeting. ... Awards Presentation We are not permitted to have gatherings of people so we have decided that the 2019 / 20 season awards will be presented at the start of the next season. We'll have more details once we set the season resumption date based on Little Athletics NSW advice. Katoomba Club AGM We must hold an Annual General Meeting to accept the financial accounts from last season and elect a new Committee. Again as we cannot do this in person, we have decided to do this via a Zoom meeting. The meeting will be on Sunday 21 June at 4pm. Details to join the Zoom meeting have been emailed to all registered members from last season. We're looking forward to a new and exciting season

08.01.2022 A big shout out to Will Zakis who set a new region record in the U14 Boys 800m in Dubbo. Well done Will! Katoomba LAs has 15 athletes who qualified through to the State Championships. Well done everyone. We're very proud

07.01.2022 Its raining again! What a drag. We've had almost 3mm since midnight and its still going. and visibility is down to 300m so we just can't run competition today. HOWEVER! We have had a look at the weather and we are going to try to run a modified Program B TOMORROW Sunday 23rd February 2020 subject to weather. We managed to get the track mowed and marked last week and it was looking good. So if the weather clears later today and stays that way, we'll try for 10am tomorrow for anyone who is keen. Keep an eye on this Facebook page and the wet weather line

07.01.2022 Hi everyone. We're looking forward to tomorrow. A few things to be aware of: - It will be cool in Wentworth Falls with a low of 11 and top of 18. Please be pre...pared. There may be showers but the event will proceed. - Katoomba Centre's COVID Plan calls for ALL entrants to the venue to sign-in using a QR code at the designated entrance near the canteen / toilet block. Once registered, entrants will be issued with a coloured wristband that they MUST wear for the duration for their time on site. No wristband = no entry and people will be asked to register or leave. There are no exceptions to this requirement. - Since the NSW Govt has extended the number of people who can be at an outside venue, athletes may have more than 1 spectator / parent with them tomorrow. All people must register when they enter Pitt Park and wear the provided wristband. Everyone must adhere to the 2 square metre rule. - As this is a Multi event, we will NOT be running to a timed program. Athletes must listen to announcements through the morning for their track and field events. Announcements will only be made twice. To help people understanding which field location events are at, we will be designing each as either the "carpark end" or "shed end" of Pitt Park - eg "Discuss at the carpark end" - Only athletes, officials and nominated helpers will be allowed onto the Field of Play at Pitt Park. Everyone else is asked to remain off the oval and behind the barriers that will be in place. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. Remember, first call at 9:40am for a 10am start.

06.01.2022 It was great to get our first hurdles day fo the season under our belt. A few early season teething matters to get through as we adjusted to some new age/height/distance specifications for hurdles but otherwise it was a good morning. See you all next week!

05.01.2022 Heads up folks. Unfortunately our regular coffee provider, Cafe 2 U, won't be at Pitt Park tomorrow 24th Oct. So you may need to bring one along with you. Marcus hopes to be back the following week.

03.01.2022 Hi everyone. Some slight changes have been made to the program for this weekend's Zone Championships. The changes cater for corrections to athlete names, gender and associated events. New programs have been posted on the Katoomba Little Athletics and Western Ranges Zone websites. Remember that this is a timed event. Track athletes must be in the Call Room 20 minutes prior tot he published start time of the event. We're looking forward to seeing you this weekend

03.01.2022 We made it! A glorious morning at Pitt Park

03.01.2022 Reminder that nominations for consideration to entry into the Little Athletics Youth State Championships (U13-17) to be held on 27th & 28th March 2021 close at 5pm, Sunday, 21 February 2021. Successful athletes will be posted by 28 February 2021. Entries MUST be via the Little Athletics NSW website and you will be asked to nominate your events and provide the qualifying time/distance/height and the name/date of the meet at which you obtained it. Please remember that your tim...e/distance/height must meet the minimum standards for your age and event on the Little As website, but that meeting the minimum standard does NOT guarantee you a place at state. The Katoomba Committee has decided that it will provide the opportunity for U13-17 athletes to have a last chance at improving their current best time/distance/height for submission into the LAs portal. This opportunity will be held on the next competition day (20th February), subject to weather, and immediately after the scheduled program C has concluded. Athletes MUST register their intention to run/throw/jump in a nominated extra event (that wouldn't normally run on Program C) at the finish line between 8 - 830am on Saturday 20th so that we have sufficient time to plan which events we hold and arrange the necessary officials. Athletes need to be aware of the following conditions: - These additional events will NOT attract competition or participation points at Club. - Events will NOT proceed if there are insufficient parent helpers to run the event, measure and record - Athletes will need to use their own discretion as to which additional event/s they participate in as we will not be providing extended breaks between events - Athletes will only be allowed the standard 3 jumps/throws in any chosen event as would occur on any normal Club competition day - Athletes may be competing on their own or in small heats/groups depending on how many athletes choose the event.

03.01.2022 Sorry folks but Little Athletics for today, Saturday 5th October, is CANCELLED. Its raining in Wentworth Falls and a track inspection this morning has visibility down to 50m with low cloud. See you all next week

02.01.2022 Last Saturday certainly was an interesting day of weather. Early morniing storm, then it fined up only to start raining as competition was about to start. 15 mins later it was ok but windy. We did get some competition in which was great. Over 130 athletes there on the day! Sorry for the last minute change away from hurdles, but with the wind at Pitt Park, hurdles just wasn't going to happen. So, we'll try for hurdles this Saturday. Hopefully the weather is kind to us.. See you all then

02.01.2022 An update for Saturday 11th January. This afternoon Pitt Park was established as a staging area for the RFS and ADF to support efforts associated with containing the Erskine Creek fire that is south of Wentworth Falls and mid Mountains. It is likely that this staging area will remain in place for at least this week. Therefore we are making the call now that competition this Saturday 11th January is OFF. We'll advise about 18th January when we know more.

02.01.2022 We had a great day at our Western Ranges Zone Combined Multi event at Pitt Park in Wentworth Falls. Thank you to everyone who could make it and we hope that eve...ryone had a great time. Thank you also to Katoomba Centre for hosting the day and to all of the helpers who made it possible. Results from today will be available on the Western Ranges Zone website by Friday of next week.

02.01.2022 Looking for BBQ volunteers for Saturday 7th March. Our usual BBQ volunteers cannot make next week so if we want to run a BBQ then we need a couple of volunteers for the morning. If you are keen, please email or PM us by Wednesday so we know whether to buy perishables or not. If we don’t get volunteers then we won’t run the BBQ. Thanks.

02.01.2022 Wentworth Falls has recorded some 55mm of rain by 2:30pm on Friday with more to come tonight and over the weekend. So unfortunately we're cancelling competition for Saturday 8th Feb 2020. We'll look at other options for make-up days once the weather is favourable

01.01.2022 The weather certainly kept us on our toes and we almost pulled it all off too! Thanks to everyone who helped out today. We'll be making up the track events we missed out on next week at 8am. So, U11-17 1500m at 8am and then U8-10 100m at about 8:15. If you want to make up the lost track events from today, then that's your opportunity. We'll then flow into Program A.

01.01.2022 At this stage we're hopeful of running competition tomorrow. It will all depend on overnight rain and the condition of Pitt Park in the morning. We'll make an assessment after 7am. Assume competition is ON unless we update this Facebook page and our wet weather line by 730am saying differently. Fingers crossed!

01.01.2022 We may all be restricted in our activities at the moment but Council has been very busy. The lane 1 "speed hump" near the 300m start at Pitt Park has now been removed! That's absolutely fantastic and we should be good to go for the start of the new season later this year when the grass returns. A HUGE thanks to Blue Mountains City and the Sport & Rec team.

01.01.2022 Sorry folks but competition for Saturday 20th February is cancelled as Pitt Park has been closed by Council. This cancellation includes the potential U13+ extra events as we cannot use Pitt Park at all. An inspection today also showed way too much surface water and a very boggy track which would have made any competition impossible in any case. We'll see you all next week as normal. Hopefully the weather is our friend.... We'll reschedule the Coles round and advise when its all locked in.
