25.01.2022 Have you ever had your vitamin D levels tested? I love DNA testing and it is something I have been doing for years. It always surprises me how many people carry double genes that make it difficult to convert Vitamin D from the sun & foods into its active form. Clients always say to me ‘how could I have a Vitamin D deficiency when I spend lots of time in the sun?’ Vitamin D is made from the conversion of a substance in our skin, 7 dehydrocholesterol into Vitamin D3. It is the...n converted into another form in the liver & then in the kidneys to be used in the body. This is affected by the amount of melanin in the skin - the darker your skin the harder it is to convert this over! On top of this, many genes affect the conversion, carrying & processing of this important vitamin - but luckily now we can do a person’s DNA health profile, work out any poor functioning genes & use nutrients, foods & lifestyle changes to express them in a much healthier way! Vitamin D is amazing as it helps with immunity, bone health, thyroid function, diabetes, depression, weight loss, multiple sclerosis & cancer prevention! Vitamin D also helps with calcium absorption & calcium can double a person’s ability to burn fat - no wonder it’s so easy to lose weight on tropical, sun-filled holidays! Vitamin D is truly the ‘sunshine vitamin of happiness’ See more

24.01.2022 Inhale. Exhale & repeat after me. This is a great affirmation to do first thing in the morning, - especially when you are feeling out of control. It helps to bring you back to the truth that you really are the ‘master of your own life’ and what you think and emit is really the vibration and life you will attract. 24.01.2022 With half of the country in some form of lockdown, we are all looking for ways to create change to live a more content life. One of the best ways to do this on an energetic level (if you are in the position to) is to immerse yourself into nature. By visiting somewhere beautiful like a waterfall, mountain, beach, or lake and feeling the appreciation for its beauty, it creates a great opportunity to change your present situation. Countless studies have now scientifically proven... that spending time in nature decreases a person’s stress levels, reduces one’s heart rate, decreases anxiety, and increases happiness. Areas in the brain are activated to increase learning, attention, creativity, and even kindness. Where have you immersed yourself in nature in the last few months and how did it change your mood? I would love to know your favourite ‘nature healing spots’ x See more

22.01.2022 If you knew that deep sleep was the secret to healing and rejuvenating every cell and tissue in the human body wouldn’t you try to get more of it. Skin produces the highest amount of collagen when we are in a deep sleep. If you only get five hours of sleep per night, you can accumulate twice as many wrinkles as someone who sleeps eight hours per night Early in our night-time sleep cycle, youth-promoting human growth hormone (or HGH) surges. HGH encourages the repair and re...juvenation of all tissues including our collagen matrix. Cell division peaks at two am, so if you go to bed too late or don’t sleep at all, just imagine how quickly you will age. Deep sleep also helps to counteract the effects of stress driving cortisol. When we breathe in more oxygen at night, the blood pH becomes more alkaline, collagen receives more oxygen for rejuvenation, and all factors that contribute to disease decrease. If you are having sleeping problems, taking a sleeping pill is not the answer. The body is giving you messages to tell you to fix something internally! See more

21.01.2022 There are so many different face masks available today, but did you know you can make your own at home inexpensively from earth’s healing foods. Here is a little face mask recipe that I love to use if my skin is looking dull and tired it is the BLUEBERRY YOUTH MASK. Blueberries are one of nature’s best youth promoting foods. They are packed full of powerful anthocyanins and flavonoids to help reduce free radical damage to the skin, promote healthy collagen and hyalauronic... acid production and protect against pigmentation, discolouration and advanced ageing. To make this mask use: 2 cups of blueberries 3 tablespoons of yoghurt (sheep, cow’s or coconut yoghurt) 1 tablespoon of raw, activated honey Blend the blueberries, yoghurt and honey in a blender to make a paste. Leave this purple paste on the skin for 20 minutes and you will be amazed at how beautifully your skin will glow.

21.01.2022 I am sure you know at least one person who can eat anything they want, and their skin stays flawless, their metabolism perfect and their tummy as flat as a board. And yet, someone else can eat the smallest amount of sugar and suddenly their hips begin to bulge and their skin erupts in protest. The beauty of genetics! Flawless skin, a fast metabolism, thick luscious hair and other youth-promoting attributes definitely have a lot to do with the genetics we are given. If you fee...l you were handed the curse of ‘bad genetics’, luckily, not all is lost. This can be changed in a positive direction. Gene expression can be altered in both a positive and negative way by the foods and nutrients you eat, as well as by the emotions you express. This phenomenon is known as ‘epigenetics’. Epigenetics is the study of changes in gene activity that is not caused by changes in the actual DNA line-up. Epigenetic responses to physical factors like stress, diet and exercise can occur within just a few hours, so whatever you choose to eat, think or even feel can alter the expression of your genes either in a good or bad way. Of course, good genetics can have a beneficial impact on skin health and ageing; however, lifestyle and environmental factors can definitely uproot this potential either in a negative or positive way. I love genetics and I use this in my daily practice and talk about this a lot in my new book, The Alchemy of Beauty, available now #katrinaellis See more

20.01.2022 Have you ever wondered why you feel so happy after spending time in the sun? When we recognise sunlight via our optic nerve, the body produces more serotonin - our happy hormone! On top of this, solar waves can boost vitamin D stores to increase immunity, strengthen bones, lower inflammation, enhance weight loss by up to 5 times, make your hair grow as fast as grass, elevate a dark mood & even guard against breast & colon cancer! No wonder a healthy dose of sunshine is always the best medicine!

20.01.2022 love being able to use this platform to share my 25 years of naturopathic knowledge and practice with everyone it is absolutely amazing that we have a space to be able to freely share valuable information that has the possibility to change someone’s life for the better. I receive so many DM’s and messages asking me all sorts of health and lifestyle questions so I thought: why don’t I ask you beautiful human beings what you would like to see or learn about? What type of content or information do you find super interesting, educational and inspiring? Let me know and I promise I will include some of this content in my posts. Comment below, I cannot wait to hear.

20.01.2022 When my kids were little, I taught them to play a gratitude game. I would ask them to say out loud, without thinking, three things they were grateful for in their lives. When we first started they would always think of material things like having an amazing bike, a phone or an ipad. As they grew and learnt the power of this life game, they began voicing their gratitude for their family, friends, ability to surf and be free and so much more. This game has now become a habit in... their lives and everything they focus their gratitude on always manifests as the most beautiful gifts in their lives. It has taught them gratitude for the simple things they have and these simple things are so much bigger to them now. The next time you look in the mirror, and you see lines or marks that you think are flaws, override this negativity by thinking or expressing something beautiful about yourself. Think of the kind things that you have done for someone, the smile you have given freely to a sad soul or the times you have touched someone’s heart. See this AUTHENTIC KINDNESS as you look into your eyes. That way you will look past those beautiful so called ‘flaws’ and see nothing but compassion staring back at you. Practice gratitude daily and watch the magic unfold in your life. A grateful heart is truly a magnet for miracles.

20.01.2022 Did you know that oysters are not only great for libidothey are actually one of the healthiest skin foods on the planet. They are incredibly rich in zinc, protein, Vitamin D, selenium and B12 to help boost energy, metabolism, mood, thyroid and bone health and collagen repair. They are also packed with nourishing omega oils enhance the beauty of your hair, skin and nails. I included my favourite yummy oyster recipe in my latest book, it can be whipped up in ten minutes and devoured even quicker.

19.01.2022 Alkaline Beauty Tip: One of the most important keys to maintaining optimal health is to try to stay alkaline. The body’s PH runs at a narrow medium of around 7.2 and lots of things can throw us towards more acidity like animal based products, processed foods and the most important acidity driver STRESS. Negative emotions like worry, resentment, anger, bitterness, jealousy and stress can drive up acidity ten times more than any acid forming food. To help remove dangerous stress driving acids it is important to find your happy space for at least twenty minutes daily, this can drive down cortisol and stress driving acidity changes in the body. Doing yoga, tai chi, meditating, exercising or even just deep breathing is a great alkaline promoting skill. What are some of your favourite ways to find your happy place and de-stress?

This Energy muesli recipe is so quick and easy to make and can be added to your favourite smoothie bowls or as a snack for on the go. The nutrients in this beauty bowl can sweep impurities, bad hormones and heavy metals out of the colon. The berries and figs in this grain-free granola contain lots of Vitamin C and antioxidants to promote energy, beautiful skin and optimal health. 17.01.2022 Vitamin A is a powerful antioxidant that can put a roadblock on skin destroying free radicals, reducing their ability to advance wrinkles, age spots and stretch marks. It is a true skin warrior that provides amazing protection against sun damage and plays a essential role in protecting against all forms of skin cancer. The best Vitamin A skin foods are grass fed butter, ghee, organic dairy products, eggs and liver. Carotene rich fruits and vegetables can also convert to pro ...Vitamin A and these are found in apricots, cantaloupe, carrots, red or orange peppers, pumpkin, mango, sweet potato, kale and spinach. Even though everyone is hooked on ‘ketogenic eating’ nowadays to stay trim, it is important not to forget the healing potential of carotene foods like sweet potato, carrots and pumpkin to keep us young, healthy and disease free. I have plenty of Vitamin A and carotene rich recipes in my new book, ‘Alchemy of Beauty’ - xxx See more

17.01.2022 I love affirmations as they help to purify and restructure the electrical potential of our brains. The word ‘affirmation’ comes from a Latin word that means to ‘strengthen or steady’. Affirmations help to strengthen our ability to attain what we desire to manifest. They are a perfect way to rewire our brain towards a positive and desirable outcome. I love to do these in the morning when I am spiritually realigning and setting myself up for the day. I find a beautiful morning routine coupled with positive affirmations is a powerful way to align yourself with spiritual change. As you say these affirmations out loud, feel the beautiful emotion linked to attaining these dreams and these mantras will always become your reality.

16.01.2022 Authentic Beauty and Happiness is easy to attain by performing selfless actions, thinking kind thoughts of others, living your passion in life, eating the right beautifying foods and water and charging your cells with nature’s super foods to radiate a magnetic beauty from inside out. This magical book contains all the healing secrets to help restore health and harmony on a deep, cellular level, both physically, mentally and spiritually, enhancing one’s inner and outer beauty and in doing so, allowing us to become the most beautiful versions of ourselves, like we were always meant to be. ‘The Alchemy of Beauty’ is a living guide to eating and living for optimal health and radiant beauty! Available now through the link in my bio and or in select bookstores

15.01.2022 Eating a wide range of different coloured fruits and vegetables is the easiest way to obtain a broad range of nutrients in a healthy diet. Clients often ask me ‘do I need to take supplements, why can’t I get everything from food alone?’ Fifty years ago before soils became over-processed and packed full of pesticides, foods contained ample minerals and vitamins, allowing people to get everything from diet alone. Today, food is more highly processed, stress levels are much higher and soils are mineral deficient, so unless we eat entirely organic, it is almost impossible to get everything we need from a healthy diet. High quality practitioner and food supplements can be amazing for helping to fill in the nutritional gaps missing in your diet and they are brilliant at helping to shift specific health problems and concerns

15.01.2022 OMG.who else is hanging out for an overseas holiday like me? I love travelling overseas with my family, as it makes me see the bigger picture in life and that we are all connected as human beings no matter what we are experiencing. This is a pic from mid 2018 when I first visited the #maldives with my beautiful family @niyamaprivateislands I could not believe that nature would paint such vibrant and unbelievably beautiful colours into every aspect of nature. When I travel, I still love to do everything I love at home ride, surf, explore and immerse myself in nature as it reminds me that the simple things in life are the most important. Where do you love to travel and where is the next place on your bucket list? I would love to know what places make your heart sing with joy.xxx

15.01.2022 I have been practicing yoga for almost twenty-five years, with seven of these early years teaching in Thailand. Yoga is an ancient Indian practice that helps to improve and attain incredible health while also encouraging relaxation and strength within the mind. It is one of the ultimate keys to enhancing metabolism and encouraging weight loss. Since I first began, I have started most days with ‘salute to the sun’, which incorporates a number of powerful postures that can move... stagnant blood oxygenating and rejuvenating cells, organs and tissues. I was planning to include my favourite yoga asanas for beauty within my new book, but there are already thousands of wonderful books and yoga sites that show these in detail. So instead, I have included three of my favourite deep breathing exercises to enhance happiness, beauty and health on every level. Breathe and enjoy! See more

15.01.2022 At the age of 28 while working in Thailand, I was exposed to a deadly chemical mix that contributed to a very rare and aggressive form of ovarian cancer inside of me. The only option I was given to extend my life was chemotherapy. Being a naturopath it went against everything I believed, yet I was faced with the probability of dying, so I drew on my experience as a naturopathic physician and instead of choosing chemotherapy as my sole form of treatment, I decided to incorpor...ate complementary therapies to improve my chance to beat this disease. After almost 90 hours of intensive chemotherapy, I chose to stop this treatment, as I knew it was doing more harm than good. My body had become resistant to the chemo and by this stage I had gained the knowledge to beat this disease. Using all of my courage, I drew on the help of nature’s foods, herbs, medicines, cancer-fighting supplements and the power of my mind to heal my body. The doctors told me I would be a lucky girl if I lived past the year that was over 20 years ago. They also told me it was be unlikely that I would ever have children but with the aid of nature’s gifts, I conceived naturally and gave birth to a healthy beautiful boy and girl. I have dedicated my life to educating others on the power of natural medicine and its potential to enrich and change lives for the better. In all honesty, I couldn’t be more grateful for the experiences I was given as it has given me the empathy to continue to help heal others x

14.01.2022 This recipe is to die for; the Raw Super Berry Cheesecake! Berries are one of the best sources of flavonoid-rich antioxidants and Vitamin C to help protect against several forms of cancer including skin cancers and melanoma. When you combine berries with omega-rich nuts and seeds you have a powerful youth-promoting cheesecake that you should never feel guilty devouring. Aka, no excuses needed

14.01.2022 The Alchemy of beauty is dedicated to my belief that every soul in this world is uniquely beautiful in their own way. In writing this book I want every child, including my own, and every human being to appreciate the perfection of the beauty inside them and to understand how important it is to celebrate this. This book is not purely about ‘natural beauty’ it is about using nature’s tools and foods to raise your healing vibration and in doing so, radiate a magnetic attractiveness that could never be captured in a pill, potion or cream. I have included over 100 gluten, dairy, sugar free and mostly ketogenic recipes all beautifully balanced with nutrient-rich superfoods to nourish and heal your body, mind and soul while supercharging weight loss, collagen turnover, mental health and your beauty potential on every level.

14.01.2022 Now that it is starting to warm up, I’m getting into the mood to make some yummy breakfast bowls from dragonfruit and acai. Everyone knows of the healing properties of Acai. This miraculous little berry is super rich in powerful antioxidants known as anthocyanans. This is what paints this berry with its beautiful colour and healing properties. These flavonoids stop free radical attack that can damage the skin, thereby helping to reverse pigmentation, wrinkles and sun damage. I love to blend acai with banana, mango, pineapple or other berries to change its flavour and taste. What are some of your favourite summer fruits that you love to make bowls with?

13.01.2022 When I worked at Chiva Som in Thailand I used to sneak into their beautiful floatation tank all of the time. A floatation tank is a lightless, soundless tank filled with highly concentrated Epsom salt water heated to skin temperature. Floatation, also known as sensory deprivation, is the act of relaxing with your body being supported by water; with all sights and sounds removed, allowing you to drift into a meditative state that rejuvenates your body and mind. Floating is ach...ieved by adding a high concentration of Epsom salts to the water. Much like in the Dead Sea this raises the density and buoyancy of the water. Float tanks use around 1000 litres of water and 550 kg of magnesium and sulphate-rich Epsom salts thereby increasing the specific gravity for the solution to around 1.27. It is this change to the density that adds buoyancy to the water and allows a flotation tank user to float. Research shows that raising magnesium may also have the following benefits: Relieves stress Excess adrenaline and stress are believed to drain magnesium, a natural stress reliever, from the body. Magnesium helps makes serotonin, the happy hormone! Relaxation Elevates chemicals in the brain that works to create a feeling of well-being and relaxation. Migraines Eases and prevents migraine headaches. Detoxification Flushes toxins and heavy metals from the cells in the body. This in turn helps ease muscle pain and clear out harmful substances picked up from our modern environment. Diabetes Improved insulin sensitivity aids blood glucose control which can aid in prevention of diabetes and hypoglycaemia. Heart Health Improves heart and circulatory health preventing hardening of the arteries, blood clots and lowering blood pressure. Bone health Magnesium helps assimilate calcium into the bones. If you have had an experience with a float tank before I’d love to know what you thought?

10.01.2022 How many glasses of pure water do you drink daily? Drinking pure, alkaline, mineral-rich water has been a secret to perfect flawless skin and other beauty factors for many years. Our body is 80 per cent water, so without the correct amount of water being consumed, the levels of acids, toxins and harmful substances begin to rise in the bloodstream. Every organ of filtration, including the liver and kidneys requires mineral-rich water to function well. On top of drinking water, it is important to bathe and shower in pure water too. Town water is loaded with aluminium, copper, chlorine and other dangerous chemicals and with the skin being the body’s largest organ, it is no wonder these metals are drawn in through the skin making the blood toxic. If you want to know the best way to filter your water, don’t forget to ask x

09.01.2022 This has to be one of my favourite bowls, ever! The activated Buckwheat Bowl This beauty bowl acts as an amazing bowel broom helping to sweep impurities, toxic hormones and heavy metals out of the colon. Buckwheat is a great option for anyone eating gluten-free. It is rich in manganese, magnesium, Vitamin B3 and lysine nutrients that can lift depression, assist high blood pressure, diabetes and weight loss. Chia is one of the best sources of Omega 3 fatty acids to hydrate the skin and reduce inflammation that causes skin damage. You can add your favourite nut or coconut yoghurt, cinnamon or nutmeg to spice this bowl up. This recipe is in my latest book, Hard copies are now available as well as an e-book found on Amazon, ibooks, booktopia and other great places.

09.01.2022 Everyone knows that calcium builds healthy teeth and bones, but many of us do not know its unique skin beautifying qualities. Calcium exists abundantly in the epidermis and here it regulates cell turnover by replacing old cells with new ones. If you do not have enough calcium in the skin, cell regeneration slows down, causing thin, aged and tired-looking skin If calcium levels are low, bones in the face begin to deteriorate, causing a loss of symmetry and sagging skin. Thi...s handy little mineral is ‘alkaline’ in nature, so along with its friends, magnesium, potassium and sodium, it helps to keep the blood pH balanced and oxygenated. Calcium is a great natural fat burner if more calcium is in the cells, fat is burnt more efficiently. Signs to look out for with a calcium deficiency include soft nails, coarse hair, muscle cramps or weakness, fatigue, brittle teeth and cavities, psoriasis, dry and thin skin, headaches, acidity, poor sleep and irritated nerves. Do you think you getting enough calcium into your diet? And if you think that your calcium is low because of a lack of dairy, think again. Dairy products are super high in phosphorous, making calcium absorption into the bones poor. The best sources of calcium are actually found in broccoli, sesame seeds, tahini, sardines, kale, bok choy, almonds and more See more

09.01.2022 I’m sure you all know what the term Hyaluronic acid means. It is one of those beauty industry buzz words but a lot of us don’t know where it actually comes from or how it helps our skin. It is a naturally occurring polysaccharide (glycosaminoglycan) found in the skin, hair, eyes, joints and other tissues. It holds water and forms a gel-like substance to lubricate and hydrate these areas and in doing so improves the moisture, plumpness and firmness of the skin. Unfortunately, ...our reserves of this yummy, anti-ageing substance deplete with age, especially after the age of forty, and skin then starts to lose its plumpness. When we are babies, we have lots of hyalauronic acid which makes a baby’s skin squishy and plump. To make more hyalauronic acid naturally, try adding foods that increase the production of this like, Root vegetables Bone and algae broth Magnesium and Vitamin C rich foods Protein foods Herbs parsley, coriander, chilli Grape seed extract or dark grapes can boost production (a glass of organic red wine) See more

08.01.2022 Whoever said caramel slice can’t be good for you clearly hadn’t tried my delicious raw caramel slice. This one is my kids favourite for obvious reasons! These bad boys are raw, vegan, gluten-free, and free of refined sugar. Raw cacao powder is packed full of antioxidants, so you can rest well knowing that even the chocolate layer has some health benefits to it! These slices taste truly taste like choccie bar but far better for you and to be honest, look much yummier too!

08.01.2022 Sometimes the simplest places on earth are the most magical x @jetwingsurf in Pottuvil, Sri Lanka I miss the serenity, secret surf breaks, incredible food and beautiful people at this peaceful paradise Itching to get back to #srilanka to recharge my soul x

07.01.2022 Who else is obsessed with watermelon like me? One of my favourite juices in summer is watermelon, ginger and basil juice it is super delicious and great for digestion, metabolism and energy. Watermelon is around 90% water and is packed with hydrating electrolytes. It also contains antioxidants like lycopene, Vitamin A and C to reduce free radical damage that causes rapid ageing, skin damage and chronic disease. Vitamin A is also great for helping to boost collagen and elastin production helping your skin to stay supple and young

07.01.2022 I know I say this so often, but I am truly grateful for the beautiful backyard I am blessed to call my home. This year has been such a whirlwind for so many of us with all the crazy events that have happened in the world creating so much fear, control, and uncertainty, but luckily I can head to the beach to breathe and have a surf when the madness gets too much. The ocean is definitely my happy place What has been your favourite sanctuary this year to step away from the craziness and find your calm again?

05.01.2022 The art of healing comes from nature and not from the physician (Hippocrates) - I love mixing up natures plants in my gorgeous herbal bar - there is a plant made in nature to repair every physical or emotional ailment & I always make sure I work respectfully with these powerful medicines to encourage healing in my patients. As Immune Health is on the radar at the moment, I am using lots of my fav immune herbs like Reishi, Astragalus, Andrographis, Echinacea, Olive Leaf, Cordyceps, Rhodiola and Licorice Root. Check out my wellness centres IG page @katrinaellis_naturalhealth for more info on these beautiful wonders of nature

05.01.2022 No disease including cancer can exist in an alkaline environment Dr Otto Warburg. The idea of the pH balance is not a new concept. It has been well researched and put into practice since the late 1800s. In 1931, Otto Warburg won a Nobel Prize for his research into cancer. He showed that cancer cells thrived in an acidic, low oxygenated environment and that healthy cells flourished in an alkaline, oxygenated environment. Every naturopath, nutritionist, and scientist know...s how important it is to maintain a slightly alkaline blood pH (or extracellular fluids) in the human body in order to maintain ideal health. This harmonious acid-base balance sits between 7.35 and 7.45. So, how do we ensure our bodies remain in an alkaline state? I have an entire chapter on this theory and how foods, emotions and the right water can ensure our bodies remain alkaline. Hard copies are now available as well as an e-book found on Amazon, ibooks, booktopia and other great places. See more

04.01.2022 Healing foods are without question one of the biggest keys to disease prevention, radiant beauty and happiness. The modern Western diet is lacking in youth-promoting nutrients and rich in toxic substances that advance ageing by encouraging a loss of skin tone and elasticity, leading to wrinkles, thin and brittle skin, age spots, cellulite and other signs of advanced ageing. Toxic processed foods strain the body’s digestive system, use up valuable anti-ageing enzymes and put a... strain on filtration organs. They also create free radical production. Foods that encourage this include an excess intake of animal products, too much caffeine and alcohol, preservatives, additives, table salt, GMO grains, saturated fats and sugars. Our beautiful collagen structures which help to prevent wrinkles require hydration and support from powerful antioxidants to protect against the damage of these ‘beauty thieves’. Foods rich in Vitamin A, C, E, D, K2, indoles and polyphenols like lycopene, catechins and resveratrol kindly offer the protection needed to withstand the ravaging effects of these beauty-robbing monsters. I elaborate on my passion and understanding of healing foods with an entire chapter in my new book ; The Alchemy of Beauty, available now #katrinaellis See more

04.01.2022 The ability to appreciate our own individual beauty in today’s world has become more difficult to achieve. Hectic schedules, financial pressures, poor-quality food and constant barrages of photoshopped images of beauty have made many of us feel that inner and outer beauty is constantly beyond our reach. Because I understand that authentic beauty is not purely about symmetry, I have not focused this book only on physical methods to enhance beauty although there are many clev...er tools that may be used for this within these pages. The message within this book is about restoring health and harmony at a deep, cellular level, both physically, mentally and spiritually, enhancing one’s inner and outer beauty and in doing so, becoming the most beautiful versions of ourselves, like we were always meant to be. Printed copies of The Alchemy of Beauty will be available to purchase in store and online in July. For those of you that would like to preorder your copy at a special price, please click on the link in my bio. #katrinaellis See more

04.01.2022 Oh, how I miss the Maldives, especially this year with not being able to travel! The tastes of the Maldives have always been one of my favourite things about visiting these beautiful islands! This would have to be one of my favourite dishes. When I first visited the Maldives, a beautiful Sri Lankan chef taught me the art of making this traditional dish. These fish balls are so easy to make and are super delicious. I serve these Spiced Sri Lankan Fish Balls with different sambals, found in the condiment’s recipe section of my latest book because it is a perfect accompaniment with these fish balls. This dish is simple to make, but super nutritious and is a great little protein and energy snack to take to work the next day.

04.01.2022 One of my favourite things in the world to do is to travel and explore amazing and unspoilt destinations around the world with my family. When we travel we really love to discover local foods, cultures and immerse ourselves with local people, as understanding their lives and the way they live makes me feel gratitude and the belief they we are all really one. It also teaches me about healing, nutrition and using earths foods and herbs to shift health in a positive direction. ...Sri Lanka would have to be one of my all-time favourite places in the world. Not only is the scenery breathtaking, the wildlife, surf, people and ayurvedic medicine is remarkable. Before COVID hit, we were blessed to have stayed at Anantara Tangelle or Peace Haven as I had heard what a beautiful place it was and as a family we were not disappointed. The sri lankan food, uncrowded waves, wildlife and ayurvedic medicine was surreal. If you ever get the opportunity to visit the place they call the ‘Peace Haven’, I’m sure it will be an experience that will stay with you and your family forever, like it has with us @anantaratangelle See more

04.01.2022 Ever heard of the acid alkaline balance? Acidity is not a friend of natural beauty. It creates huge amounts of inflammation, breaking down collagen and elastin in the skin. It weakens bones, reducing their symmetry and form. Acidity deoxygenates the blood, causing dull, lifeless skin and hair. When the blood pH is acidic it creates a perfect breeding ground for parasites, bacteria and yeast. This allows the yeast to have a party in the blood, and in their excitement, they excrete poisonous mycotoxins. These nasty substances cause fatigue, brain fog, skin rashes, headaches, nausea, bloating, liver overload and a general feeling of being unwell. In my latest book I delve deep into the fundamentals of this theory and the foods and ways you can maintain an alkaline and friendly body and mind!

04.01.2022 One of my favourite things about traveling is getting to experience the different tastes and healing properties of yummy foods in different cultures. Poke bowls are a really easy and delicious way to get lots of healing omega oils, minerals and phytonutrients into your diet. Like all poke bowls, this Japanese Inspired Poke is super high in nourishing and anti-aging oils. 04.01.2022 Why do I include so many berries in my recipes? Because berries are one of the most nutritious fruits found on planet earth. Their vibrant colours, obtained from their proanthocyanins or OPC’s, are not only visually appealing, but the source of their incredible healing properties. OPC’s have the power to tone capillaries, veins and arteries, improve eyesight and damage and to put a shield up against free radical damage that causes wrinkles, pigmentation and age spots. Eating lots of berries prevents bruising and heals spider and varicose veins, haemorrhoids and broken capillaries. They beautify the eyes, reverse sun damage, improve vision and are a true ‘brain food’. In my new book I dive into the nutritional power of different berries and their incredible healing powers. What berries are you favourites and why?

03.01.2022 Christian Dior was onto something when he stated: ‘Happiness is the secret to all beauty and there is no beauty in this world without happiness’. Who would have thought that a fashion designer who lives in a materialistic world could have expressed such a poignant truth about the secret to natural beauty? 02.01.2022 There are now over 80 000 man made chemicals found in the environment that are perceived as ‘carcinogenic and potentially toxic’. These chemicals have the potential to mimic hormones in our body, driving up the risk of many types of cancers including lymphoma, breast, prostrate, brain and lung cancers. One of the easiest ways to reduce this risk is by increasing your nutrient intake of antioxidants. Antioxidants insert themselves into free radical chains, helping to reduce so...me of the damage that these dangerous chemicals can cause. These super nutritious dips found in the ‘Alchemy of Beauty’ are packed full of healing phytochemicals, antioxidants, minerals and vitamins all designed to protect against DNA damage and advanced ageing. This is a pic of my two favourite dips the oriental pesto and turmeric longevity dip. By combining lots of anti-ageing foods like garlic, walnuts, sesame seeds, coriander and limes you can create an amazing dip that only tastes delicious, but packs a powerful punch at slowing down cellular ageing that causes disease and tissue breakdown. The full recipes are in my new book ‘Alchemy of Beauty’ xxx See more

Full-bodied, short burst exercise is a fantastic way to increase neuroplasticity in the brain, opening up our ability to attract from a higher source what we need. What’s your favourite exercise?

01.01.2022 Beautiful, glowing and dewy skin and amazing health is actually a reflection of your gut and liver health. By restoring your natural microbiome, the skin takes on a dewy glow. It has now been discovered that certain ‘intestinal bacteria’ are extremely beneficial for preventing acne, dermatitis, eczema and rosacea. There are thousands of bacteria that reside on the skin and this bacteria is influenced by our gut bacteria. The good bacteria prevents the bad ones from secreting... chemical substances that cause skin problems like eczema, acne, dermatitis, psoriasis and so much more. To help influence a healthy gut bacteria for glowing skin, why not try adding some prebiotic foods into your diet. Some of my fav prebiotic foods are natto, miso, tempeh, kefir, yoghurt, sauerkraut, sweet potato, jicama and more. I have included an amazing ‘microbiome diet’ in my new book to helpl balance your friendly bacteria and in doing so, make your skin radiant and glowing. See more
