23.01.2022 2 two years olds and 1 four year old worked together to make this track, once they had worked it out and made it ‘Connect’ it was abandoned by the 3 children for another activity- showed me once again, sometimes the process is more important than the product

20.01.2022 I can do it washing our own dishes and building fine motor muscles. My FDC friends are growing fast and amazing me with their growing self help skills.

20.01.2022 Some recycled/up cycled/ and repurposed items from around the house to make a simple game with lots of learning possibilities. Colour recognition + sorting, pattern making, stacking, balancing, counting and a ‘posting’ container to help make ‘tidy up time’ fun.

17.01.2022 4 children spent nearly one hour solid playing in joes sandpit on Thursday, I thought it would be too small for more than one or two children......apparently not.

15.01.2022 A day and a half sewing with my mum to make some new flannelette and towelling mattress covers, ready for our hot days ahead. Looking forward to seeing the little ones next week.

12.01.2022 With some modifications (thanks Al) to our old change table and a fresh lick of paint ( thanks Polly) we have a new FDC art and craft trolley, with some loose parts storage underneath.

09.01.2022 Allergy friendly play dough supplied by one of our families- children loved squashing, squeezing and rolling the gorgeous colours into different creations. Awesome activity to promote fine muscle development.

07.01.2022 Great news!! I can open up 2 more days!!! Katrina’s family day care will be open Monday to Thursday starting from next term.15th July

05.01.2022 Fun making kale chips today

05.01.2022 Allergy friendly play dough- made with rice flour and corn flour. Feels very similar to normal play dough, ready for little hands on Tuesday.

04.01.2022 Slime made with lux soap flakes and water, just add a bucket of warm water at cleanup time.

03.01.2022 10 new hens, hopefully soon we will be collecting eggs.

02.01.2022 I try to not buy new recourse for FDC. Instead I love the challenge of recycling and up cycling items I already have. .........or sourcing items from charity shops. However these pipettes that I bought recently I have wanted to add to my resources since I started FDC over a year ago. The children love them and they are teaching the children a multitude of scientific and artistic concepts as well as developing muscles in little hands. A great little investment.
