24.01.2022 Occasionally, we need to look at this world with fresh eyes and say, rightly, that some things are, and always will be, intolerable. Surely any normal person who arrived from the wilderness, or an alien from another world, would agree that how we treat our children reflects on us as human beings. 23.01.2022 NOTHING CHANGES IF NOTHING CHANGES Broughton is a delightful village in Hampshire, England. I grew up here. Much of life hasn’t changed for 1000 years since the Norman church, St Mary’s, was built. Inside, inscribed in its chronicles, and outside on the tombstones, you can read the history of all those who were born and who died here. Many of the same families are still here in one form or another. I love these two pictures; they show the same old Beech tree that has seen ge...nerations of kids grow up and play over these Downlands. Even earlier, Roman soldiers walked these Downs as did the Celts and early Britons before them. The older photo is interesting. If you look closely you can see the initials of early lovers cut into the bark, some so long ago they are almost grown over. The newer photo is interesting too. A simple pleasure never becomes old. I was there in the first one. My daughter in the second. Sometimes it’s nice to remember to stop and smell the roses

02.01.2022 Life is made up of choices and each one affects some aspect of our lives. May yours reflect your hopes despite your situation, and not your fears. Everyone is reaching for the stars from the darkest of places. R. A. Barlcay
