Life can bring challenges that are so unexpected, hard and painful, so that we could barely cope with them Thus, our psyche believes that this experience was extremely harmful and that we may NOT WITHDRAW and recover from it, if it happens AGAIN, it might break us. BUT. In the real world, there’s no guarantee that it won’t happen again, for example, you cannot protect your child from all germs, or an airplane from crashing- i...t’s out of your control. You feel helpless and unarmed You begin to experience a constant fear that something bad might happen any day. But you can’t stay in the anxious and scared state forever, you need to have brakes and rest to recover So, your mind is creating something that will give you at least an ILLUSION that you have the control and the power to feel safe - in the form of a condition: If you do ‘this’ and ‘that’ 100 times, you can relax, nothing bad will happen." If a person has to deal with unbearable blaming herself for not preventing something terrible in the past, it might also take a form of punishment that will bring justice. She begins to repeat some mantras and actions every day to be calm that this time she did everything she could. Just not to blame herself again. And since all these CONDITIONS are nothing more than just ILLUSIONS - hence a product of our Subconscious Mind, cognitive-behavioral therapies (CBT) will not touch anything but the leaves of the problem, NOT the ROOTS. Thus, you can somehow cope with the symptoms (leaves), but never cure To eliminate the issue, you need to dig up its roots.
