25.01.2022 It has been my great pleasure to quilt this quilt for Marjory. I started it late last year but it was very intensive work and has only just gone back to Marjory. This quilt was a real challenge as each new border needed a different treatment. The centre panel has extra wadding to give extra loft to the applique and also to give that lovely trapunto feel. Marjory tells me it's a gift for her son, I don't how she will part with it! The centre design is by Anne Sommerlad "Truffle", but the surrounding borders were done as Marjory went along. Look out for this one at the show this year, it is a real beauty, the photos really don't do it justice.

22.01.2022 It's been a while! Been very busy. I had a great day at the show this year and hanging there is Michelle Marvigs "Stashbusting Garden". I used geometric elements, some freehand fills and feathers to complement her design.

21.01.2022 Another fabulous design by Katrina Hadjimichael Quilt Designs, from her Jane Austen quilt collection, this time Highbury. Earlier this year I quilted Hartfield for Lyn and her Highbury is just as gorgeous. Wonderful work and commitment to finish two Jane Austen quilts in one year .

19.01.2022 Continuing my quilt catch up, I have this beautiful and quirky quilt. Jan completed this huge quilt, designed by Michelle Marvig " Srinagar" earlier this year. Due to it's size we desicided that custom quilting would be just too large a venture and decided that semi custom would be just as good. Extra wadding was used in the centre to add texture to the quilt as the busy background fabric can make the quilting receed into the background too much. Apologies for not having a clear photo of the quilt as a whole but it was hard to photograph in full due it's size. Congratulations to Jan on completing such striking and vibrant quilt.

18.01.2022 I have been sewing with Rosemarie for many years , in fact she was my first ever paying customer. She completed this lovely embroided quilt at Picton Patchwork again in Vicki Porters' monthly class. Rosemarie always gives me free reign to do as I please on her quilts, a very trusting lady!

18.01.2022 Today I returned Katrina Hadjimichael Quilt Designs with her completed Lady Cavendish quilt. Since it is a dark colour way we decided that creating texture would be the way to go with this quilt and the best way to do that is to go geometric. If you have always wanted to do one of Katrinas quilt designs but didnt want to commit to a large quilt then this is the quilt for you! Here is a link to Katrinas website were you can purchase this gorgeous design https://katrinahadjimichael.com.au//lady-cavendish-quilt-/

18.01.2022 This beautiful three dimensional quilt was made by Ivana, a timeless design by Katrina Hadjimichael. Medallion quilts are just perfect for doing semi custom quilting. An all over design on the outside but customised in the center block to make all those lovely flowers pop.

18.01.2022 I'm a bit behind in posting finished quilts , so I'm starting with Lynn's quilt. Lynn requested light quilting for her quilt and kindly supplied the photo so you can see her cute little Sun Bonnet Sue quilt.

18.01.2022 I've been very lucky to have quilted a few quilts for Glennis and I had the great pleasure of doing this beautiful sampler for her. It's Antique Wedding Sampler by Di Ford-Hall from her first Quiltmania Book. Every block is quilted differently and we have used extra wadding in the border and setting triangles to enhance the feather pattern.

16.01.2022 It's been a long time since I have posted anything that I have made. Quilting takes all my time but I have managed to finish another regency reticule (bag) that I started way back when the dinosaurs roamed the earth. Pineapples were quite the thing during the regency period, you could even rent one for your next dinner party as a center piece, but it cost extra if one of your guests decided to eat it, of course ! So of course a pineapple bag was the height of fashion. This one is knitted from a modern adaptation from an original pattern, here is a link in case you want to make your own, Ravelry: Pine Apple Bag pattern by Isabel Gancedo https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/pine-apple-bag . It is a bit challenging but you just need a bit of patience. I added a linning for stability and made some sparkly tassels, because, why not?

16.01.2022 This gorgeous cot quilt is destined for a lucky granddaughter. Jane made the quilt from a pattern by Barri Sue Gaudot of Bareroots from the book Quilt A Gift for Little Ones. It's such a bright and happy quilt. In the middle I used a technique where I hide shapes within the free hand quilting. That way the quilt can act as a I spy quilt , there is one worm in there , can you spot it?

12.01.2022 This gorgeous quilt belongs to Adrienne, a first time client. She did an amazing job with her construction, making my job easier. The design is Lambton, by Katrina Hadjimichael from her Jane Austen collection.

12.01.2022 Jennifer came to me with this beautiful and striking Double Wedding Ring quilt. The design is by Judy Niemeyer but the colour way was all her own, I'm sure you'll agree she did a great job ! We went for a more modern geometric design for the rings but accentuated it with botanical free hand designs over a trellis pattern. Some quilts you just want to keep.

11.01.2022 Katrina Hadjimichael Quilt Designs keep coming in, this time Hartfield. Julie did a fantastic job with the construction and it was a pleasure to quilt. We decided on semi custom, as always a good option for medallion style quilts.

10.01.2022 The same but different, and in purple! I also had the great pleasure to quilt Lyns Hartfield quilt designed by Katrina Hadjimichael. Lyn was also taken with the thought of feathers and circle motifs on the blocks , but the borders are different, just to make her quilt her own. Again original quilting design was by Helen Hayes. You can purchase some of Katrinas beautiful patterns from her website if you can't make a class, here is a link https://katrinahadjimichael.com.au/

10.01.2022 Happy New Year ! My first post for the year. This is Margarets' gorgeous quilt destined for her Granddaughter with a matching pillow sham. You might remember her last one for her Grandson, a striking Robot quilt. The pattern is from New Zealand company Kids Quilts, the quilt pattern is Fairyland. Children's Quilts are always cheerful and a lot of fun to quilt. On a different note, my custom books are closed now for 2020, unfortunately I'm only one person so I'm limited in how many I can take on in one year. Like I've said before, book in early if you are looking for custom work. As always there is no need to book e2e work and a relatively fast turn around. Enjoy Margaret's quilt!

09.01.2022 Eileen brought me this beautiful embroidered quilt, it reminds me of Wedgwood China, so deliciously blue. The design is by the lovely and talented Vicki Porter in her monthly class at Picton Patchwork. Eileen requested simple quilting on her quilt, the real star is definitely the exquisite panels.

06.01.2022 Another Di Ford- Hall design! This is the first time I have quilted for Margaret and I'm sure you will agree that she had done an outstanding job , mastering the art of broderie purse.

05.01.2022 Unfortunately, I couldn't make the Camden Quilters Show this year. But I want to give a big congratulations to both Marjory and Caroline, both ladies won viewers choice . Marjory on Saturday and Caroline on Sunday. Both quilts are a credit to the makers and I'm sure will become family treasures. Well done ladies!

04.01.2022 As the year is quickly coming to an end I have almost finished my custom list for the year. However my e2e books are pretty clear so if you have anything that you need done before the silly season, now is a good time.(As long as it's an e2e , of course). If you have something special that you would like custom quilted my spots for next year are quickly filling up. I often get asked how the waiting list works. Once your turn comes round, I give you a call/message to say that ...I'm ready for your quilt. If you haven't finished your project yet, that's fine I go down to the next person and come back to you. If you have changed your mind, that's fine too as there is always someone waiting. This means that you can book in your quilt before it is finished, and when you do, there is not a huge waiting period or disappointment if my books are full. I can only manage one or at most two custom quilts a month, depending on size. No need to book in e2e or semi custom, unless of course you need it for a specific date. Hope this helps clear things up. See more

02.01.2022 I have known Laraine for quite a few years now, so I was happy to quilt a Wholecloth quilt for her, destined for her daughter. Digitised patterns were mostly used but I did do some hand guided fills to help with the definition between the border and the center block. It was looking a bit naked without it! I'm sure you'll agree that it complements my bed quite well, maybe she'll give it back?
