22.01.2022 Introducing Sarah Camm Sarah Camm is a trumpet player from the Dandenong Ranges of Melbourne, working to distinguish herself as a soloist, chamber artist, orchestral player and teacher. She creates collaborative performances which inspire and empower audiences. Working as a freelance musician, Sarah finds herself stepping into many different roles on any given day. She is Principal Trumpet of Stonnington Symphony and the Melbourne Youth Orchestra, member of the Melbourne C...onservatorium of Music Philharmonic Orchestra, and member of brass quintet, Kavanagh Brass. Sarah’s passion for all things music, stems from a desire to inspire young female brass musicians who are the next sections of the orchestra, built on gender equality. As an educator, Sarah aims to inspire and empower young women at St Catherine’s School, Toorak. Here, Sarah has a vital role in building the band program, developing curriculum and running a brass ensemble. 2019 sees Sarah performing regularly with various ensembles across Melbourne, united by a passion to inspire and empower audiences.

13.01.2022 Introducing James Littlewood James Littlewood’s passion for connecting people with sound and feeling is evident in his musical work. As a young bass trombonist from Melbourne, Australia, he enjoys a versatile performing career as a soloist, orchestral and chamber musician. James’ pursuits have taken him across the world to work with a wide range of people in Canada, Asia, and Europe. During his undergraduate studies at Monash University, he received scholarships to stud...y abroad at The University of British Columbia (Vancouver, Canada) and at Scuola comunale di musica Giuseppe Verdi (Prato, Italy). 2018 saw James join The University of Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in its tour of Asia. All of these formative experiences continue to inspire him to perform and unite people through sound, regardless of time and place. As a graduate researcher at The Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, James is currently focused on researching third-stream trombone repertoire, with a particular focus on the music of Tommy Pederson. He also enjoys playing bass trombone in a range of university ensembles, including the Kavanagh Brass Quintet and The Downwards Slide Trombone Quintet. James enjoys living a busy life as a freelance musician and teacher in Melbourne, with an eye to a career as an artist in orchestras and chamber ensembles. He keeps creatively stimulated with his hobbies, which include acting and composing. In 2019 James will complete his Master of Music degree, as well as participating in the Trombone Academy at Domaine Forget (Quebec, Canada).

07.01.2022 Introducing Kit Millais Kit Millais (b.1996) is a trombone performer, band leader and educator from Melbourne, Australia. He creates opportunities to showcase new artistic ideas and educational concepts to help innovate the music culture in the 21st century. As a performer, Kit works in a range of ensembles and styles. He has performed with the ARTS8 Collective (a project based interdisciplinary art ensemble), the Australian Youth Orchestra, and the University of Melbourn...e Symphony Orchestra. He leads the Hot Socks Big Band as well as being a member of Kavanagh Brass and a featured performer of the New Stage concert series. As an educator, he develops online educational resources to assist his students outside of the classroom. Kit teaches privately and works in a few schools around Melbourne. Kit is involved with a number of pursuits in addition to performance and education. These include radio presenting on 3MBS, organising solo and chamber music performances, and researching trombone mute characteristics. 2019 sees Kit pursuing a Master of Music at the University of Melbourne while continuing to develop his online educational resources. He is looking forward to pursuing chamber music opportunities as a part of Kavanagh Brass and his own solo projects in the future.
03.01.2022 Introducing Georgie O'Malley Originally from Tasmania, Georgie O’Malley is a French Horn player and teacher with a passion for creating beautiful music and helping others to find their own musical voice. Georgie completed a Bachelor of Music at the UTAS Conservatorium, where she developed important musical skills and worked with a number of incredible musicians. The opportunities Georgie received throughout her degree, including performing as a casual musician with the Ta...smanian Symphony Orchestra, and her participation in Australian Youth Orchestra programs inspired her to move to Melbourne to continue her musical journey. Georgie is currently studying at the Melbourne Conservatorium, where she is a member of the Philharmonic Orchestra and the Kavanah Brass Quintet. As an educator, Georgie inspires young performers at schools throughout the community as well as through her own teaching studio. In 2019, Georgie looks forward to completing her Bachelor of Music with Honours at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, as well as furthering her own performance skills through ensembles and her passion for teaching.
