24.01.2022 Our kawana Juniors (including U18) draw https://www.playrugbyleague.com//rugby-league-sunshine-coa
24.01.2022 U18’s MATCH REPORT KAWANA (36) v NOOSA (0) Well after a very long lay off, it was fair to say the boys (and myself) were really keen to play some footy last night! As a full squad we have only had six one-hour training sessions to prepare for the game last night, which under normal circumstances would have been seen as a pretty poor preparation for our first fixture game of the year. Having said that with only a handful of training sessions under our belts, I was still quit...e confident that the boys had embraced our game plan and bought in to what we wanted to achieve this year. As expected we were very rusty in the first half with our attack, we weren’t finding our attacking points and struggled to get our attacking shape sorted, on top of that we were pushing too many passes that weren’t on and basically not being patience enough with the ball (the excitement of being back on the field....). Getting out of our own half was a positive though in that first 30 minutes, when we didn’t try to push any unnecessary passes and just do the basics right, we made really good metres. The second Half was much better, when we started to find our attacking points and get our shape right the points started to come, then obviously once we had the upper hand the boys could then attack their middle and start to play our eye’s up footy to take the opportunities that presented. The other big positive from the game last night was how we kept Noosa scoreless for the game, we gave them plenty of opportunities with our handling errors, but we defended our try line like our lives depended on it. After the game we all spoke about how much better we looked in the second half with a little bit of patience and taking the time to set up our attacking shape, I’m really excited to see what these boys can achieve this year when we put a full 60 minutes together. Back to training Monday to prepare for our game next Friday where we will be tested against the undefeated Coolum Colts. Commitment / Respect / Honesty / Toughness Cheers, Darren

22.01.2022 U18’s MATCH REPORT KAWANA (38) v BEERWAH (4) It’s fair to say that we were still feeling a little bit embarrassed and disappointed with what we had dished up last week against Caboolture. We spoke about that Caboolture game all week at training and identified a couple of areas within that game that needed fixing. The first thing to address was stamping out all of the individual stuff and getting back to our proven game plan that had served us well up to that game. We made s...Continue reading

06.01.2022 U18’s MATCH REPORT KAWANA (46) v CALOUNDRA (10) Although we came away with the win against Coolum last week, we were not completely happy with our performance again in that game. We all agreed that our Middles did not start the game with the same aggression and enthusiasms that the Coolum Middles did and because of that we were not in control of the Ruck.
