24.01.2022 We wanted to let all of our patients know that our wonderful, crazy and charismatic hygienist Jorge will be moving to Europe to be with his family at the end of February so unfortunately will be leaving our Kawana Dental family We are all so very sad to see him go and will miss his dancing, singing and all around entertaining, but are hoping he will come back to us one day soon! Jorge you will be missed! If you are due for your maintenance visit soon - never fear! We have our absolutely awesome hygienist Fiona at the helm and will also be introducing another (just as fun and entertaining) hygienist very soon, so stay tuned!

We have been so lucky not to have been personally affected by the fires, but know there are so many who have. Kawana Dental will be donating $1,500 to the Salvation Army, $1,500 to the NSW Rural Fire Service and $1,500 to the RSPCA Bushfire Appeal

21.01.2022 Here at Kawana Dental we’ve been doing something a little under the radar for the month of November to do our part in Movember. It’s a tough one for us, one that hits close to home for many of us. We’ve being moving for both the men in our lives and for the men that we’ve lost. We set the 60km challenge for our team that if we collectively walked/run a total of 60kms we would donate $300 to Movember and any KM done over that an extra $5 would be donated. WELL, it’s safe to say our team absolutely smashed it. Together, through the month of November, our team logged 539km’s!!! So today, we will proudly be donating $2,695 to Movember. We can’t thank our KD team enough, you are absolute legends. #movember

17.01.2022 *Covid-19 Update* Hi everyone, a quick update on Covid-19 virus from our perspective. We are taking this issue seriously, though there is no need for panic . Our infection control processes are fully accredited and state of the art. All of our patients would be used to seeing us in our masks and gloves; what you dont see is how much else goes on behind the scenes with strict protocols to ensure everyone is safe. Our team is meeting on a regular basis to ensure we can co...ntinue to safely provide our regular service. The health and safety of all of our team and of course our patients is our first priority. We would encourage all of you to keep a close eye on your own health, follow the recommendations being given, and if you have a fever or flu symptoms, or have recently travelled overseas, let our reception staff know by phone before coming in, and consider getting yourself tested for Covid-19 as a precaution. No doubt things will return to normal soon; in the meantime, be sensible , dont panic , and wash your hands as regularly as we do!

15.01.2022 To our valued patients In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, all dentistry in Australia is currently at level 3 restrictions, limiting us to treating urgent and emergency procedures only. This in accordance with the recommendations released by the Australian Dental Association (ADA) and is mandated by our national regulatory bodies. Essentially this means we are only able to treat patients for relief of dental pain, infection, swelling and facial trauma. ... It is distressing for us to not be able to see our patients for their routine care, or to help with non-emergency treatment, and we share your frustration in the potential prolonging of treatment already underway or not yet started. If youve been putting off your appointment or are wanting to book in a routine maintenance visit, give our friendly reception team a call! 03.01.2022 To our valued patients Restrictions on dental practice have eased somewhat (not completely), but under Level 2 restrictions we are now able to see more patients for more varied treatment. We are aiming to prioritise appointments to people who are in pain or require treatment, or who have had to have treatment postponed over the last 8 weeks. ... Things will be a bit different coming to the dentist at this time so the following information should help prepare you for what to expect. Our standard of infection control has always been very high, and we have implemented all the additional measures recommended by the Australian Dental Association to keep everyone safe. There will be some screening questions to ensure no one with risk factors for Covid-19 enters the practice. Social distancing will be observed in the practice and we are scheduling appointments to minimise the number of patients here at any one time. If youd prefer you can let us know when you arrive and wait in your car, and we can call you as soon as the dentist is ready to go. You will be asked to use alcohol hand wash before entering the practice, and to have your temperature taken. Only the person receiving treatment will come into the treatment room unless a parent or guardian is needed. You will also be asked to wash your hands thoroughly upon entering the treatment room and to use an antiseptic mouthwash before treatment is started. As always, we wear new masks and gloves for every patient and have strict hand hygiene protocols. All surfaces are cleaned and disinfected between every patient. Our opening hours are also a little different at the moment - currently 7.30am 5pm Mon Fri. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us on 5444 7111 and we will be happy to help you in any way we can. You can also reach us after hours through Facebook if you have an urgent query. Thanks for your understanding. We are heading in the right direction for a return to normality ASAP!
