23.01.2022 Ok guys, we need to know which weekend suits most people. It's either the weekend of the 21/22 or the 28/29 of November. So far, neither weekend suits everyone. As expected it is going to be difficult to suit everyone, so we're gonna just have to go with what fits best for most. If we don't make a decision, the boys will be starting U18 pre-season before we know it and nothing will get organised.... Please ALL reply to this post advising your preferred weekend. I need your replies by this weekend please. Mark
22.01.2022 Ok, so how does everyone sit for the weekend of the 27th & 28th of November? Mark
22.01.2022 YES, training IS on, rain hail or shine. I need EVERYONE there this afternoon whether you are injured/sick or not. Please make sure you have your towel this afternoon and I suggest you bring a spare set of dry clothes.... Also those who are yet to give Kayla your preferences for the end of season trip, please bring that as well. See you there. Mark
22.01.2022 Congratulations boys on qualifying for your 6th Grand Final in a row (for some of you). This is a massive achievement and one which you all should be very proud. To go so far into the season undefeated is testament to you guys as footy players and I feel so excited for you all that we are now only 1 win away from achieving something that most other footy players can only dream about. No one else knows, or would understand, the difficulties you guys have encountered over the... last couple of years with injuries, illness and changes to our squad. To be the 'hunted' by every other team on the coast for so long and to continually stand up to all challenges, speaks volumes of not only your ability, but also your determination and desire to be the best you can be. I am so proud of you all. Last nights game was one I'm sure we'd all like to forget, BUT (and it's a big but), you still won. My brain is frazzled trying to analyse it and for the life of me I cannot work out how we won that game of footy, BUT YOU DID. You found a way to win and that is the mark of a truly champion team. When things were tough and we looked shot, not only did you all dig deep for each other, but some individual pieces of brilliance got us out of trouble. Nambour were good and were the better side on the night, no question, but that meant nothing to you guys. Last nights game was our worst of the season and that 1st half would be close to being the worst I have ever seen you guys play. As disappointing as it was, that game highlighted a couple of things. Firstly, for some reason when it comes to finals we think we have to do something different to win the game, I don't understand why this happens to us. We play how we're supposed to play and how we train all year and not drop a game, then come finals time and we throw that out the window and do unusual things. This has to stop and we'll talk about this at training this week. Secondly, and most importantly, as bad as we were and as strong as Nambour were, we still won. That tells me that we have the cattle and the ability to win no matter who we play. All we need to do is play footy the way we know we can and to the best of our ability. I'm excited about what lies ahead of us and the opportunity we have to become one of 'those' teams that people will talk about in years to come. Some stats from last night:- 1st Half Completions = 33% We only had 12 sets with only 4 completed - 2 kicks and 2 penalties After 15mins we'd made 47 tackles to Nambour's 7. Halftime score = 10-6 to them 2nd Half Completions = 84% We again only had 12 sets BUT with 10 completed. Fulltime = 24-22 to us - yeah baby. See you all at training this week. And I mean EVERYONE. 21.01.2022 End of Season Trip Looks like the majority of boys want to go camping up the North Shore, which is fine and we can do that, but I have had quite a few parents say that they will probably not be able to be involved for one reason or another (no camping gear and unable to get up the beach etc). With this in mind, I'd like to throw up another suggestion that I believe will satisfy everyone. There is a property at Diddillibah that caters for large groups and allows those that wa...nt to camp to do so. The property consists of a large shed that has a stage, large screen, sound system, indoor basketball hoops, beds, a couple of units and a proper industrial kitchen. Outside there is a pool, a sand volleyball court and a flat grassed area that is perfect for footy or cricket. The beauty of this property is that we can crank the music up and we won;t annoy anyone, plus it is very close to town for anyone that may have to leave and it is accessible by normal vehicles, so everyone can get there without relying on others with 4WD's and having to get across the barge, worry about tide times etc. Further to this, the guys who own the place can do all the catering for us, so no one has to worry about food. We just turn up, have fun, eat, sleep and leave. Meal prices are as follows:- Breakfast (hot and cold options) - $7 p/per Lunch - $5 p/per (sausage sizzle) Friday Dinner - $10 p/per (Italian banquet) Saturday Dinner (2 meat roast, veg & salads) - $20 p/adult & $15 p/child The hire of the property is going to cost $600 for the entire weekend. If we go with this option, the following is a suggestion:- All boys and fathers/staff arrive Friday afternoon. Saturday, travel to Brisbane for Skirmish ($99 for 500 pellets - including lunch). I will try and organise a bus for nil cost. Return Saturday afternoon, when the rest of the parents/families can come out and we all have the roast dinner together. Those that wish to stay can and those that wish to go home can. Sunday, those that stayed overnight, can spend the morning together and head home at their leisure. If we do the above, the costs will be:- Friday Dinner - $10 (Italian Buffet) Saturday - $99 (Skirmish incl lunch) otherwise $5 Saturday Dinner - $20 Sunday Breakfast - $7 Venue Hire - $600 by 20 players = $30 Therefore - $166 including Skirmish or $72 without Skirmish This shed is available on the weekend of the 30/10, 31/10 & 1/11. Personally, I think this is the best option that allows everyone to be able to attend and no one has to worry about cooking anything. Let Kayla know asap, what you think. Mark
20.01.2022 Just been advised that the main field at Maroochydore is closed tonight due to the rain, so they have moved the Caboolture v Nambour game to Nambour to kick off at 7.45pm. The Gympie v Beachmere game is still on at 6.30pm tonight at Maroochydore, on Field 2. It's cool if you don't want to go out to Nambour to watch.... Don't forget training tomorrow at 12d at Kawana, remember to also bring a towel and $5 to get into the pool for a recovery once we're finished and then if you can we'll all go over to the Stadium to watch the Falcons take on the Townsville Blackhawks. Maybe bring a change of clothes including a jumper as it might be cold, raining and windy tomorrow. Kick off for ISC is 2.30pm. Mark
15.01.2022 Guys, it looks like the weekend of the 21st & 22nd of November is suitable to a lot of people. Can anyone that this weekend does NOT suit let me know asap. If you don't say anything, we'll assume this weekend is good. Mark
13.01.2022 Hey guys, now that the dust has settled on the season and we've had some time to digest what occurred in the Grand Final, I'd just like to say how impressive the boys were in the Grand Final even though we got rolled in the end. It's always difficult going through the season undefeated and then getting beat in the one that matters, but it happens more often than you think. As for the game, well what do you say about what was thrown at the boys, except how incredibly proud I ...Continue reading

07.01.2022 Because we have no game this weekend, it will give us a chance to get some extra training in. Therefore, we are going to have a session on Saturday at Kawana. We will start at 12midday and train for 1 1/2hrs, the boys can then go over to the pool (need $5 or so) for a bit of fun and recovery and then I would like to see them all go to the Falcons last home game together at the Stadium, which has a 2.30pm kick off. If possible, I would also like to see as many of the boys as ...we can at the semi finals this Friday night at Maroochydore. Be good to go down there as a group and watch Nambour and Caboolture have a crack at each other, to see who we play the week after. Friday night is not compulsory, but Saturday's session is (unless you have something more important on - like work or a family gathering etc). Thank you and I'll see everyone at training on Thursday. 06.01.2022 Hey guys, I know some of you are away this weekend with the OzTag thing in Coffs Harbour, but I believe this weekend is the last of the main commitments you have for the year. So I was wondering if we are any closer to organising the weekend away for the boys? The majority chose to do the camping thing up the beach, so whoever is the driving force behind that option, can we look at organising something in the next couple of weeks please/ I guess I'm after those of you that ...do the camping thing regularly to take on the organising, so everyone else can have an idea of what to do and be guided by you guys. Let me know what you all decided, so we can finish off the year with an awesome weekend away for everyone. Mark PS - Mal Meninga pre-season training starts Sunday 1st November 2015.
