20.01.2022 Time to celebrate - Lesley Storkey making history as the incoming International Director 2021-2022. What a thrill.

20.01.2022 Some ground rules to keep in mind as you move from face to face meetings to online meetings.

18.01.2022 Join us in our first online meeting. Covid -19 wont stop us having fun, learning new skills and staying connected!

18.01.2022 Visited Kawana Waters Toastmasters Club. They were kind enough to award an Evaluation Trophy for my efforts. Am with Sue Pinker and Fran Kay. Both ladies helped me while I was District 69 Governor.

17.01.2022 We will enjoy our meeting tomorrow. It will be our last face to face meeting. We will continue to meet online though. Looking forward to enjoying our time together and listening to speeches and table topics.

17.01.2022 Unfortunately due to the current situation and several apologies, our meeting scheduled for tomorrow - March 19th - has been reluctantly cancelled. Please stay tuned as to situation re our next meeting on 2nd April.

16.01.2022 All our winners on Melbourne Cup Day At Kawana Waters meeting this morning..

16.01.2022 Great day at Kawana Waters Toastmasters Club..

15.01.2022 An amazing meeting today at our last in-house meeting for now for Kawana Waters. We have decided to go online for now as hall hire costs exceed member attendance fees. Tim delivered a heartfelt speech on his experience as a member, Judith gave an insightful speech on her time in Toastmasters, Area 22 Director Dianne Cox reflected on her leadership style. Sad to be exiting as an in-person club but we're excited to embrace the online community until we can get together in person again.

15.01.2022 Looking forward to our meeting tomorrow. We will have a good time.

14.01.2022 Great to see Tim & Ross embracing new roles, the timing lights by Tim were excellent and Ross totally took on the role as Chairman for the first time.

12.01.2022 Theres something out there more contagious than COVIDand we should be trying our hardest to catch it. Claire Quarrell, The Message Maven, helps people work out how to say all the things they want (and need) to say clearly, authentically and consistently. She is a presentations and communication coach; workshop addict; and lover of words, who helps individuals and companies craft and deliver their message for maximum (hell yeah!) impact. Catch Claire at the Area 22 Conference Saturday 24th October CCSA Hall Nutley St, Caloundra as she shares her message of Aspirational Kindness. Stay tuned for more.

12.01.2022 Looking forward to our Changeover Meeting tomorrow morning. 9am for 9.15am BYO Cup and teaspoon and morning tea. We are being strict with our COVID risk management. See you tomorrow morning.

11.01.2022 Tim was the star of the day as Best Speaker and Toastmaster of the Day. Fran excelled as Evaluator of the day. We were all winners anyway as Kawana members willing to continue online.

11.01.2022 A fabulous zoom meeting today with special guests Judith Rowarth CDD, Deb Barnett AD28, Dawn Smith CD Sec, Renate Burnell from Glasshouse Club. All of our guests participated and had excellent ideas and have offered support for us as we move into an online Club only. Thankyou all. Our Simon did a great job as our first Zoom Master, pointing out ways to improve our Zoom experience. Lots of questions and eagerness to learn. Our members present today came away excited about future online meetings.

07.01.2022 What a great meeting today & we welcomed guests Marilyn, Ryan, Bob, Nerelle, Ian, Judith R, Esther. Ross as first time Chairman did a great job, and regular guests Bob & Nerelle filled in as TT evaluators, thankyou. We can always rely on you. Ian filled in as as Chairman of the Club Officer Elections & all positions were filled willingly. Thanks Ian for a well run session. As Word Master, "Lollygagging" was used well and often! We are all guilty of this in these times it see...ms. I loved the descriptive phrases used today: "Ride the Rainbow bridge" by Ryan on the passing of his beloved pet - sad but so descriptive. "Alone with my inmate", and "Got fed up with house arrest" by Dora in her creative speech. Alliterations by Simon ""Emotional & evocative" and by Bob "the very verbose Sue". "Evaluation marathon" used by Fran as well as "Stepped up to the plate". We dont realise how often we use such descriptive, typically Australian phrases until someone is recording them. Thanks Kawana & guests today, Toastmasters is as exciting via Zoom as in person! See more

Lorraine represented the girls by receiving the welcome nugget. 01.01.2022 Judith and I represented you at the Annual District 69 Council meeting on Sunday afternoon. Several other of our members were also in attendance. Of course we should have been living it up over the long weekend at Twin Waters - but have to wait until this time next year now . It was an amazing meeting with over 200 members attending, and the secret ballot voting was just amazing ! Our District 69 Director Alana Beale chaired the meeting. Lots of District business attended to. Then the team for the 2020-2021 year were elected. Incoming team: DD. - Barbara Neilson, PQD - Mark Snow. CGD - Robert Green, Central Division director - Judith Rowarth. ... Congratulations to all incoming officers...

01.01.2022 A great meeting today, see our awardees pictured. Our Muriel was presented with her Certificate for completion of Level 3, congratulations Muriel, an amazing award for someone who wasnt excited about Pathways to begin with but is now leading the way. Tim is continuing to do a great job as SAA, Simon has worked hard to do all the massive paperwork involved with change of bank signatories, Judith has been working hard to update our new member kits, Fran has worked hard on mi...nutes and notices despite a much needed holiday away. We welcome Barbara as a reinstated member and thank her carer Amanda for making her attendance possible. Next meeting is our 600th, how exciting is that? Obviously Covid restrictions dictate our attendance numbers. Our dear and much-loved President Dora and VPPR Lorraine are unable to attend at present, we miss them so much but understand their health must come first. Stay well and healthy both of you. Thank you all active Kawana members for continuing to attend and support our Club. See more
