15.01.2022 Spent a lot of time in the intensive Care Unit at Prince of Wales Hospital last 2 weeks. My Dad was flown in from Port Macquarie and admitted as an emergency patient. On Tuesday, we gathered around his bed. I was watching as the number of blue gowned people increased by the minute. The cardiologist advised that emergency cardio-thoracic surgery was needed or my father would have a fatal heart attack. We were in shock. Luckily Dad was lucid, and quipped that he had a new kne...e, so he should now have heart surgery to make sure he was able to use it! My Father was a public patient at Prince of Wales Hospital Randwick. He received exemplary care at all times. The medical and nursing staff were outstanding. The culture of caring was palpable. Medicare supports a fantastic health system in Australia run by remarkable and dedicated people. Right now, I personally know how valuable that is. See more

03.01.2022 Congratulations to Lend Lease and BHP! Lend Lease listened to the community and this week pulled out of plans to build a coal port at Abbot Point, on the Great Barrier Reef. It joins other companies such as BHP Billiton who dont want to be a part of industrialising our Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.... In the words of Felicity Wishart "we arent just fighting for the Reefs future, were changing it." Saving the reef for our children's children is a big part of keeping a planet that's healthy for us all to live on.
