15.01.2022 Thought it may be time that I introduce myself. Hi there, I’m Kayla. Owner and creator of kayla morgan art, launched in 2018. My little business is 2 years old and I am so proud of what it has become and the path it’s taking. So much exciting magic ahead, which I’ll share with you later . I live near the beautiful Barossa Valley in SA with my wonderful hubby and excitable pup. You will often find me chilling at a winery, enjoying a picnic, in a blanket fortress with a tea ...or at my local gym. I am a foodie!!! I LOVE food. Preparing meals or baking is one way I show my love. I come from an Italian and Maltese background and I feel this comes through in my cooking. I was lucky enough to visit my dear Nanna’s childhood home and meet my extended family back in 2011. They are some of my most treasured memories. I love to travel and explore, spending time in nature adventuring, and of course eating. I spent 3 months backpacking in Eastern Europe when I was 23. I like to switch off when I go away so that I can fully absorb where I am, recharge, and connect with who I’m with. My favourite food is pasta!! I also love Mexican. Oh and doughnuts!! We stopped at our favourite bakery half way through our wedding day to enjoy fresh baked doughnuts to celebrate. I have loved to draw ever since I was little, it was always my favourite thing to do. I found pointillism in year 12 and fell in love with this style of creating and the meditative state it brings. My favourite colour is blue. I love autumn and playing in the leaves connecting to my inner child. I have a deep resonance with the number 11. It tends to follow me and assures me I am on the right path. I was born on the 11/11 and my name is now 11 letters long, I have no middle name. (Like this building, we were searching for nice walls for the new shoot and ta da, 11). It’s so nice to meet you, thank you so much for being here. Please tell me a fun fact about you xo.

11.01.2022 Goals, dreams and intention setting for the new year. We can set and reset goals at any stage, not only in the bringing in of a new year. There is something symbolic about the new year that does this for us. As the end of a massive year comes to a close I’ve been reflecting on the year that’s been with all the good and the bad. Appreciating and acknowledging how far I’ve come and of my achievements. ... Setting specific realistic goals for the new year of what I/we as a family would love to call in, achieve and what our desires are. Mapping out what steps do we need to take, what do we need to have, do and/or learn to achieve each step and what do we need to be in order to achieve this. Do we need to be flexible, committed, encouraging to achieve these goals we’ve set? Some of my goals for 2021 range from making sure I drink enough water each day and meditate regularly, to transitioning into my business, desires for our home haven and family, goals for my health in reducing stresses and supporting my autoimmune. No matter where these sit on the scale I follow the same process above for all. What are some of your new year rituals?

03.01.2022 ART Special orders going out in time for Christmas . Who has a mermaid under their tree?

01.01.2022 2 0 2 0 Reflection. This year has been a massive one! It has been filled with mixed emotions, a lot of uncertainty on multiple levels, grief, and has brought so much light to many things. It’s been an absolute shit show, activation of deep primal survival, an opportunity to amplify our voices like never before, entwined with golden laces of gratitude and expansion. For me it has really highlighted compassion, deep gratitude, sustainability, simplicity, and surrender. ... We have learnt to not be fearful of saying something, anything, when something is so important to us. To stop questioning ourselves so much and trusting what’s on our hearts. It’s hearing what people don’t say and checking in with them anyway. Releasing the reins of control and allowing trust in the unknown to settle. Taking the time and effort in understanding our own inner world and someone else’s, their meanings and perceptions, loving them for all that they are and respecting their view of the world. It’s leaning in with curiosity and placing judgement on the shelf. Not being afraid to ask for our needs to be met, and finding our unique voice for that, especially when we are suffering or hurting. Accepting that we are also learning and finding our way through. The safety to openly express how we are feeling and allowing each individual we confide in to hold us a little differently with their individual magic. Releasing the notion that we need to wait for permission to do this, releasing the thought that we must wait to be asked first. It’s understanding that we can feel gratitude, sadness, peace and nerves all at once. That all our emotions are more than ok, can all be present, and are needed. It’s what makes us relatable, leaning into the discomfort enables us to grow and move through, to ask why and seek a little further into our humanness. Recognising when something is out of balance and taking the necessary steps to tip the scale where it’s needed to realign. Embodying love and a deeper level of understanding that may have not been there before. But mostly 2020 has been a reminder of the things we may have taken for granted. A normal food shop, seeing loved ones, two incomes, travel, embrace, popping to the gym or local cafe, the impact of small acts of kindness. It’s reminded us to look at what’s been here the whole time, beauty of a sunrise, how the stars sparkle at night, how advanced our tech is that we can see and talk to loved ones when face to face wasn’t an option. Mostly it’s reminded us of what we do want for our lives and how we want to live them. Leaving us with a sense of deeper appreciation and immense gratitude for all that we do have, in all of its forms. An opportunity to realign to our deepest values, to focus on what is sustainable in many ways, and to cherish what matters most to us. It’s an opportunity to say thank you to every soul that got us through this year. Thank you my love xo
