25.01.2022 Come and visit this magnificent garden this weekend. What a lovely way to spend a leisurely Sunday, especially with this glorious spring weather.
25.01.2022 The legends you meet door-knocking! This is Bryan. Bryan has had an interesting and colourful life. Great stories of the days he ran the Broadbeach hotel and promoted the Bee Gees in Toowoomba at the age of 17! Like me, he also loves living in Elanora. #currumbin #lovewherewelive
25.01.2022 I know this will be welcome news for our community members that have loved ones in the ACT - just in time for their school holidays.
24.01.2022 Personally I think the Kirra Eagle should be replaced. It’s become part of our identity on the southern Gold Coast. Iconic Kirra - overlooking the hill and surf amenity. Council will consider its future on Thursday.
23.01.2022 Queensland's Morning Update: Thanks to the hard work of Queenslanders, our state is in a better position than most of the world. Let's keep working together, ...Queensland. #TeamQLD
23.01.2022 @surfclubcoolangatta till 1pm. Soaking up the sun on the Oceanway- pop in and say hello!
22.01.2022 There’s a point where expressing an opinion goes too far. This woman has done an extraordinary job under extraordinary circumstances. When I think about how we are faring in Queensland, compared to other States and other countries- it makes me very angry she has been targeted like this.
22.01.2022 Great news! NZ travel bubble.
21.01.2022 @hiddengemcoffee cafe in Tugun - always great to pop in for excellent coffee and a catch up with locals. #golocal #supportsmallbusiness
21.01.2022 Great news for Gold Coasters today, we're building a second M1! So what will this mean for you? Less traffic on the M1 You'll get home to your family faster ... Over 700 local construction jobs created for Gold Coasters This massive project is just one part of our $3.6 billion investment into the Gold Coast over the next four years it's all part of our plan for Queensland's economic recovery. #qldjobs #teamqld
20.01.2022 !! BREAKING NEWS - BORDER ANNOUNCEMENT !! The Queensland border will reopen to five northern New South Wales council areas - Byron, Ballina, Lismore, Richmond Valley, and Glenn Innes shires from 1am on October 1. Queensland residents will also be allowed to travel to the local government areas.... More than 150,000 people in the council areas will be added to the border bubble. Very welcome news for our community!
19.01.2022 Yes! Another great community Xmas event.
19.01.2022 Visit southern Gold Coast - where a weekend away feels like a week! Excellent timing of this promotion with schools holidays around the corner. We know we live in paradise. Share away! #currumbin #lovewherewelive
19.01.2022 PBC Farmer’s Market! It’s a beautiful day. Come down and grab some fresh food and have a chat. #golocal #southerngoldcoast #currumbin

18.01.2022 Great to be campaigning at Coolangatta this morning. Thanks to my supporters for coming out. Coolangatta tourism and hospitality businesses will benefit from yesterday's announcement of the expansion of the border bubble. Our strong health response has enabled our plan for economic recovery and we welcome more visitors from Northern NSW.... #southerngoldcoast #lovewherewelive #makeitgreatqld
17.01.2022 ** Light Rail Stage 4 Community Consultation ** In the new year, extensive community consultation will commence on Light Rail Stage 4 (Burleigh to Coolangatta). I encourage everyone to engage with the process and have your say!... How to get involved: There will be a shopfront at Palm Beach for 12 weeks so community can drop in to discuss the project proposal. Further face-to-face sessions along the route. A project newsletter will be delivered to about 38,000 residents and businesses in Burleigh, Elanora, Palm Beach, Currumbin and Tugun at the start of consultation. A dedicated consultation web page where everyone can provide feedback via online engagement tools videos and interactive images of what a completed project could look like based on a high-quality 3D visualisation model of the corridor. A dedicated consultation hotline and email so the community can speak directly with the project team.
17.01.2022 BREAKING: Restrictions on pubs will ease from 1am on 1 October, increasing the maximum number of people in outdoors areas from one person per 4 square metres to one person per 2 square metres. Because Queenslanders have done such an amazing job fighting this virus the Chief Health Officer can ease restrictions from 1 October on the maximum number of people allowed in outdoor dining areas, including pubs, beer gardens, restaurants, and cafes. Let's get out there and support our local businesses and do our bit for Queensland’s economic recovery.
16.01.2022 What a ride! With the counting finished, I can report I lost by 310 votes. Thank you everyone for your support and encouragement. It’s been a privilege. Look forward to seeing the many election commitments in Currumbin delivered. But for now I will take a little break from public life... #currumbin
16.01.2022 Last night I spent another enjoyable evening meeting new friends and mixing with a lovely group of people at Currumbin RSL - organised by Currumbin Beach Social Group. I went along with my mum. She’s been looking for new opportunities to meet people and get out of the house. The night was organised by the very energetic Brett Carnell. He started these groups to get people to connect, and he has definitely achieved his goal. Check out the link to find out how to join their e...arly morning walking/coffee groups or dinners. Good on you Brett! You are a community champion! http://bit.ly/GC-SocialGroupEvents
16.01.2022 Drive through testing centre in Currumbin Waters. NO referral needed, just join the queue and stay in your car. I've used this service and it's very efficient. The staff are professional and caring. If you have any symptoms, please get tested.
15.01.2022 We Make it Great in the Sunshine State! That's why I'm backing local businesses right here in Coolangatta like Seed & Bean Cafe in Griffith Street. Come and see Leen for a delicious treat and amazing coffee. See how your business can be a part of Making it Great in the Sunshine State https://www.dsdti.qld.gov.au/our-work/make-it-great... And for some nostalgia - check out this clip from the 80's. We supported local business then and we are still doing it now! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nZ66O9mJOc&feature=youtu.be #makeitgreatqld
15.01.2022 Tugun residents - please see close contact info below.
14.01.2022 More great news! Major upgrade for Bienvenue Drive and Creek Road intersection! So many Currumbin Waters and Currumbin Valley residents have raised this problem intersection with me over the last 12 months. Today I am so pleased to announce this upgrade. Please share the good news!
12.01.2022 Today is Police Remembrance Day. It is important for us all to remember and honour the sacrifices made by police officers who have served our community. #nprd2020 #withhonourtheyserved
12.01.2022 We love our Oceanway here on the southern Gold Coast. Yesterday the Minister for Roads and Transport and I announced we are committing $1.5m to a business case for the new section of the Oceanway through Currumbin, which will include a new cycle and pedestrian bridge over Currumbin Creek. #lovewherewelive #currumbin #goldcoast
12.01.2022 And just like that we are bunkering down again. Stay safe everyone and remember to social distance, hand wash/sanitise and get tested if feeling unwell.
12.01.2022 It's Kaylee's Birthday and she's giving out the presents (well yard signs) Being part of the community is what Kaylee is all about. Yard signs are an incredibly powerful way of showing that. Seeing friends and neighbours showing their support makes a strong impression on undecided or uncertain voters.... It's a small action with a big impact! Follow the link to sign up for a yard sign today https://actionnetwork.org/forms/kaylee-yard-sign&
12.01.2022 BREAKING: We’re backing our police force with the biggest increase in police resourcing in almost 30 years. The Palaszczuk Government will provide an additional 2,025 police personnel over five years and deliver 25 extra mobile police beats. 1,450 of those will be deployed to the frontline, meaning at least 150 new officers in each key region across the state.... It is because of the efforts of Queenslanders and frontline staff like the Queensland Police Service that Queensland is in a position to recover more quickly than other states. This means we can focus on our economic recovery and support more jobs, sooner.
11.01.2022 Big arvo of sport on the southern GC. Cooly Bluebirds won their game and are off to the grand final - go girls, you’re awesome. Then off to Currumbin to watch the derby between @tugunseahawks and @currumbin_eagles. Eagles won reserves and Seahawks won A-grade. And I got to do the kick off which was the highlight of my day!
11.01.2022 If you would like to support my campaign for Currumbin but not sure how to go about it you could register to host a yard sign at your property. This is a powerful way of showing your support at a community level. Register below and one of my team will set one up for you...it's too easy and goes a long way ... https://actionnetwork.org/forms/kaylee-yard-sign

08.01.2022 Saturday Morning Mobile Office Palm Beach Currumbin Markets. Come down and chat to us about issues and topics for the Southern Gold Coast. I'm here with candidate for Burleigh Wayne "Rabbit" Bartholomew.
07.01.2022 Thank you to the Health Heroes in our community. It's been a tough year - and you have selflessly kept us all safe and kept working through. THANK YOU!
07.01.2022 And proudly a Gold Coaster too! Congrats Dinesh.
07.01.2022 Today I volunteered at Tani Tei En - Open Garden. The gardens are open to the public for one weekend every 2 years. The cherry blossoms did not disappoint! Thanks to our hosts Bob & Ev Marshall - they do all the gardens themselves! Amazing All proceeds from this weekend go to Southern Beaches Community Garden and Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation.... It was so lovely to see so many people and catch up with Valley locals.
06.01.2022 The history of road funding on the Gold Coast - thanks Meaghan Scanlon - Member for Gaven!
05.01.2022 Extensive Consultation for Stage 4 Light Rail Announced
04.01.2022 I'm sharing this because it shows how easily a moment of recklessness could have ended in tragedy. It must have been terrifying to witness. There are several flooded roads and creeks in our part of the world at the moment and more rain today. Stay safe everyone - it's not worth it. If it's flooded - forget it.
04.01.2022 We are continuing the job of building an integrated transport network for the southern Gold Coast. This is being fast-tracked as part of the Palaszczuk Governments Unite and Recover Economic Stimulus program. This includes major works like the second M1, accelerated M1 expansion to Tugun and key local upgrades like Beinvenue Drive/Creek Road in Currumbin, Toolona Street/GC H'way in Tugun and extension of the Oceanway in Currumbin. All good news for our community - less conge...stion, more active travel and creating 100's of good local jobs. #uniteandrecover #golocal #currumbin
04.01.2022 It’s my birthday tomorrow. When I started this public/political life thing I knew I needed the support and strength of my family and friends. I had no idea how much! This year has been an incredible journey. I am so humbled to have been carried by so much support and love.
04.01.2022 December 1 - the road checkpoints come down! Hurray! Fantastic effort from our community. Thanks to the Police, SES, Fire and Rescue for all your hard work. It hasn’t been easy. We should all celebrate this milestone.
04.01.2022 Great outdoors, sun, sand and doing something for the environment and community! Perfect activity for a Saturday morning!

01.01.2022 Proud to stand with @dyingwithdignityqueensland and Doctors for Assisted Dying Choice at their pop up stand at The Pines this morning. This is an important issue for our community. This election will decide if Voluntary Assisted Dying legislation is introduced - or not. All candidates should be honest about their position before the election. If you would like to attend our community forum, follow this link: https://actionnetwork.org//voluntary-assisted-dying-commun&
