19.01.2022 My client’s husband was ever so helpful taking their furniture pieces out front to be loaded into my car.... in the blink of an eye, as we stepped out their front door we saw a car parked behind mine and a woman picking up the items! Naturally I quickly intervened and told her they were not council clean up items Phew... such a close call and just so glad that we hadn’t lingered over a cuppa inside! Huge lesson and yes, he won’t be doing that again

Fusion mineral paint to the rescue once again in Champlain with a custom barn wood treatment for the top of the lower unit. Good times

06.01.2022 Some very old pieces need a little extra ‘kfc’ ! This is a friends family heirloom Art Deco occasional table that had many layers of varnish and old stain and was looking a bit sad. I knew that she wanted to preserve the original charm & character of this lovely little table whilst wanted to update it for their new home. So of course the process started with me donning the protective glasses, mask and gloves and getting stuck into revealing the substrate. Beautiful wood grain but extremely dry. Conundrum Before applying Fusion SFO in Cappuccino, I needed to find a way to seal the open grain so that the stain would go on evenly. I decided on this Feast Watson sanding sealer and was amazed at how it sealed/enhanced the grain, eliminating the mottled appearance! Easy to use and a little goes a long way.

06.01.2022 Definitely happy with my Diy Driftwood formula using a blend of Fusion SFO colours over Coal Black & Cathedral Taupe Fusion mineral paint. A cute nest of tables gets the kfc treatment! So excited to complete this custom job for a lovely local lady.

02.01.2022 Trialled some custom wood grain effects using FMP & my very meagre rations of Stain & Finishing Oil for a new client who want the top of their dining table re-stained and sealed. Chairs and pedestal base will be painted in popular white Raw Silk They want the top to almost match the colour in photo # 2 which has some chestnut undertones. Decided to go with their choice of stain in a Cabot’s water based stain & varnish. Step 1 After a thorough clean, the entire table top has been stripped of its very golden glossy varnish.
