20.01.2022 The bits no one sees--basting the chest peice onto the foundation of canvas for the full canvas jacket to provide shape and correct drape. And yes, it is done by hand.

15.01.2022 This is Frankie, my resident quality control expert and fabric weight, who came in to assist with one of my top secret projects. I think he was hoping for the massage table function.

14.01.2022 Welt pockets done! And the overall pieces count has been reduced by 20.

12.01.2022 The bits nobody sees part 2. The chest peice and canvas have undergone padding (the stitching) to shape it as well as added darting to provide the shape you can see here. Now on to more pressing business, as it all needs ironed before putting it together!

05.01.2022 This is my idea of a jigsaw. And it looks like enough left for a waistcoat!

05.01.2022 Forgot a step! This is the important step in a new pattern, the toile. This allows the fit of the pieces together and on the body to be checked and adjustments made. The client can also have input at this point, and overall adjustments made.

04.01.2022 The bits nobody sees: prepared for the first fitting. This is what a bespoke jacket looks like at the first fitting. Every seam is a possible point of change.
