05.01.2022 Two recent Organised Crime Squad investigations have taken 59kg of meth off the streets and emptied a warehouse full of hydroponic supplies. Search warrants in ...Perth Metro resulted in the arrest of two locals, three from the east coast and the seizure of over 130,000 cash. They have been charged with serious offences including conspiracy to supply a trafficable quantity of prohibited drug, possess a trafficable quantity of a prohibited drug and possess stolen or unlawfully obtained property. They appeared in court and will reappear at a later date. Officers from Taskforce Silverdrift, which targets cannabis grow houses, seized 30 pallets of hydroponic equipment, growing chemicals and large amounts of cannabis and arrested eight people. Since 2017, the taskforce has conducted 193 search warrants, charging 131 people with over 291 offences, including 180 charges of cultivate a prohibited plant with intent to sell or supply. More than 30,000 cannabis plants, 708kg of cannabis head and $1.7 million cash has also been seized.
