25.01.2022 PRESS RELEASE The Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community Fair Society Inc has been in regular contact with relevant officers from the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder about measures to take during the Fair to ensure good hygiene by vendors in light of the COVID-19 Corona Virus. I would like to assure the Community that we are taking the best advice and based on the most recent announcement by the Prime Minister that the recommendation is not to hold mass gatherings involving more than 500 pe...ople, it is now unlikely that the 2020 Community Fair will go ahead We are waiting for advice and will keep the Community informed as this develops. 23.01.2022 The AGM has been held and we're ready to go! Committee for 2021 - all elected unopposed President; Sue Davey Vice President: Gerald Roadnight Secretary: Esther Roadnight (Esther had indicated she was not standing this year. She only came on Board to help build the Fair back up, but after the disruption involved with COVID she felt it would be unfair to stand down so has indicated she will be Secretary for 2021 Fair then stand down) This means the Fair Society will be seeking ...a Secretary moving forward from the 2021 fair. Treasurer: Malcolm Hamilton. We welcome Malcolm to the committee. All memberships are now due. $2 membership fee. All members are encouraged to attend meetings and NEW members are encouraged to come along. 21.01.2022 in a NORMAL year we would all be getting ready to go to the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community Fair over the next 2 days. Not only are you missing out on enjoying this Iconic event. Sponsors, Exhibitors, entertainers, stallholders etc etc are missing out. The VOLUNTEER committee who have been working since May 2019 to put together the 65th Fair are feeling this more than most. ... Two weeks ago we made the heartbreaking decision to cancel the 2020 Fair, but it didn't stop at the announcement. The committee are still working with Sponsors, exhibitors entertainers etc as,even though the Fair hasn't taken place there are still costs that have to be met, stallholder fees to be returned, contracts with entertainers to be paid. This is not an easy task. What does it mean?? We are not sure yet, but the picture will become clearer over the next few weeks. Some sponsors have been amazing and said to us just rollover our sponsorship to next year. Believe us there is a lot of behind the scenes negotiations that are taking place. Be assured the Fair Committee has a passionate desire to have Fair 2021 take place. The dates are set Friday 26 and Saturday 27 March. If you are planning an event next year please be mindful of these dates and not clash or plan a large community event within at least a month of this iconic event. Lets be fair to each other and our Community members. Stay safe and self isolate as much as you possibly can.

21.01.2022 Cosplay is coming to the Fair! We would love Cosplay enthusiasts dressed in costume, to enter the competition by presenting at the Fair office during the Fair and then interacting with Fair patrons. The Kalgoorlie Boulder so so diverse and we want that diversity reflected back in the events and attractions hosted by the Community Fair.... To enter, DM this page or email [email protected] to request an entry form. Entries are to be received any time before the commencement of the Fair. Each entry form must be accompanied by a picture of the character being portrayed for committee reference. The closing date for entries will be Saturday 28 March 2020 at 5pm First Prize - $100 Second Prize - $75 Third Prize - $50 Photos will be posted to the Fair’s Facebook page for public vote and promotion of the competition. They will also be used for judging by the Judging panel. 20.01.2022 Pop Magic (Vince Haines) welcomes the opportunity to bring his unique Magical Entertainment to the 2020 Kalgoorlie Boulder Fair. Pop is undertaking several Magic Shows on Stage and can also be seen performing strolling magic around the Festival Grounds between the Magic Shows. The Stage and Strolling Magic is full of bright, colourful effects with plenty of audience participation to entertain both the children and adults present.... Pop invites audience members to assist with the Magic and become stars of the show as his time at the show is all about the audience having fun. In addition to performing magic, Pop also undertakes Balloon Twisting, especially for the younger children who may not fully appreciate Magic. This is a fun activity where he creates a wide variety of items / animals such as Love Heart Flower, Pirate sword, Alien Ray Gun, Cat, Dog, Bunny, Elephant, Bird on a Swing, Lady Bug, Turtle, Twisty Hat, Baseball Cap, Ukelele Pop is also accompanied by is special furry friend Coco who is especially popular with the younger show visitors. This all ensures fun and memorable magical entertainment with lots of variety for all the children (and adults) present to enjoy.

18.01.2022 Due to increased public concern, to protect the health of stakeholders and visitors, and in response to the Prime Minister and COAG’s direction that any organised mass gathering over 500 people should be cancelled. It is distressing and disappointing to cancel the Fair for 2020. There are many people who will be very upset by this decision, and this is the first time in its proud 65 year history that the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community Fair has been cancelled. The safety and wel...l-being of our patrons, Exhibitors and visitors is our priority and out of precaution it has been decided this is the best course of action. We appreciate that the cancellation of the Fair is a huge disappointment for our Fair community, particularly exhibitors and visitors from Kalgoorlie-Boulder and surrounding towns from around the Region and State who love attending the Fair to catch up with friends and celebrate with us every year. We will be in touch with Entertainers, Exhibitors and others who were to be involved to advise of this decision within the next five working days. We appreciate your understanding and patience as our team works through the logistics and issues that come with cancelling an event of the scale and complexity of the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community Fair. This has not been done without a considerable amount of reflection and distress.
