24.01.2022 This week we have been learning about our national flags . Through this experiences we aimed to get the children excited about the Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Australian flags through encouraging them to spot the shapes, symbols and colours that make up the flags and then spotting those same elements in different contexts. This is in support of the centre’s Reconciliation Action Plan, one of its focuses being promoting respect and understanding of the national flags of Australia. We aim to extend on recognising the flags and the concepts they represent this week and throughout the year as well.

13.01.2022 Research shows that learning a second language boosts problem-solving, critical-thinking, and listening skills, in addition to improving memory, concentration, and the ability to multitask. Children proficient in other languages also show signs of enhanced creativity and mental flexibility. Here at Kids Capers we have a dedicated team of Mandarin Chinese teachers who are devoted to providing a high quality language program for our Kindergarten children.

13.01.2022 We believe in acknowledging and teaching, through play, the true histories of Australia to promote a sense of understanding, connection and respect for Australia’s First Peoples, and for the land which we learn on and care for. As an organisation, we are committed to raising awareness about reconciliation, with the goal of encouraging all people in the broader community to embrace reconciliation and work towards reparation and healing for the Land’s First Peoples. Today our educational leaders met to share each Centre's journey towards reconciliation, sharing ideas to further empower our educators to embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspective in all aspect of the program.
