25.01.2022 The Children's Ministry Network are hosting a Christmas conversation for children and family ministry leaders! Come and join in the fun as we chat about planning for ministry at Christmas this year. A great opportunity for networking, resourcing and encouragement.

23.01.2022 KCO keeping its distance for 2021 By November each year, preparations behind the scenes have usually begun for the following year’s KCO. A theme would have been chosen, a design created and promotional materials printed so that at the end-of-year Synod meeting KCO would be launched. Unfortunately this is not happening. Due to changing requirements around COVID-19, there will be no KCO in 2021. We understand the disappointment that both children and leaders may have about thi...s decision. If you would like to host a local church day or multi-day discipleship event for children and are looking for some assistance, please make contact. It may be helpful to note that, early next year we hope to launch a library of intergenerational ministry resources, primarily made up of items used at KCO for churches to use. As we are not planning for KCO 2021 we have some time to take stock of where things are at, including costs, attendance and volunteer numbers, and most importantly to consider how we can best meet the discipleship needs of young people across our Synod. If you would like to contribute to conversations to assist with shaping children and family ministry Synod events into the future, including reviewing KCO, please contact us. Contact: Mark Schultz, [email protected] or Melissa Neumann, [email protected]

22.01.2022 Make sure you and your campers are registered by 13 March! Any late registrations will incur a late fee and may not be able to get wristbands/iron-ons before the event.

20.01.2022 We are looking forward to hosting the next CMN Conversation about a leader's retreat on this Thurs 27 Aug at 10am- 11.30am. The focus is about taking time with God, time to rest and time to reflect. This retreat will include some input, an opportunity to share together and then a space for personal reflection to come away and connect with God. This will be led by Melissa Neumann (Intergen Team, Uniting Church in South Australia). Our prayer is that in this huge season of u...ncertainty, increased workloads and concerns for our own families, communities and those we are in ministry with, that this conversation will provide an intentional opportunity to pause and be with God and to be encouraged to do this more regularly and intentionally. Email [email protected] for the zoom link.

19.01.2022 Devotion 2: EAT We eat together, sharing meals with believers and unbelievers alike Video: Check out this video about Jesus and Zacchaeus by clicking on the piccie *Ask:* What are some of your favourite foods? When you eat with others, do you eat in silence, or do you talk together? Which is most welcoming? What are some things that you talk about? What happened when Jesus ate with Zacchaeus? What do you think they might have talked about during the meal? *... *Talk:* Inviting someone to share a meal with you is more than just asking them to eat food with you. What else is involved? Does your family know someone who is sad or lonely at the moment? Could you extend Gods welcome to you by inviting them to share a meal with you? How might we encourage our kids in this? * *Pray:* Thank Jesus that whenever we read stories in the Bible of him spending time with people (often over a meal, like Zacchaeus), their lives were changed. Ask Gods Holy Spirit to help us to welcome people into our lives, sharing Jesus love with our words and our actions, so that lives are changed. Thank him for good food and drink too! See more

11.01.2022 Devotion 4: LEARN We intimately learn Christ as our leader and model for making disciples Video: Check out this video about Jesus and his friends, Mary & Martha, by clicking on the piccie *Ask:* What do you think of this story? Was Mary being unfair to Martha? What was Mary doing and why? *... *Talk:* Sometimes we get so busy doing things that we forget to be with people, including with Jesus. A Christian is a follower of Jesus and this means spending time with him. What are some ways that we can spend time getting to know Jesus more? * *Pray:* Thank God for the Bible that tells us all about Jesus and for the Holy Spirit who makes Jesus known to us. Ask him to help change our hearts so that we dont let all the things that need to be done get in the way of just spending time with Jesus. Thank him that he knows we can find this hard! See more

Do you think Jesus was listening to the Spirit as he was talking with the woman? How can you tell? * *Pray:* Thank Jesus that he knows all about us and all about everyone. Ask his Holy Spirit to help us to know what to say when we talk with people about what is happening in their lives. Ask Him for help to tell others about what Jesus means to us, or as the Bible says, to boldly share the hope that we have, and for wisdom to do this gently (1 Peter 3:15). See more
