25.01.2022 It all kicks off tomorrow night! Be sure to get along, 7:30pm at The Cricket Hub Tasmania!

25.01.2022 KNIGHTS FAREWELL SANDHU During the COVID-19 period the club has bid farewell to one of our favourites in Gurinder Sandhu as he moves to Brisbane to further his professional cricket career. Gurinder has been a great asset for our club both on and off the field since joining the club prior to the 2018/19 summer. On the field Gurinder was an absolute pro in all aspect of his cricket. Leading our aspiring talent to a finals berth last season, with match winning bowling and batti...ng performances. He lit up the Twin Ovals on many occasions, his feats were an absolute pleasure to watch and demonstrated his first class talent. Off the field no job was ever too much for Gurinder, whether that be cooking up the club bbq, watching all grades play, coaching senior and junior players, or making player appearances for club juniors. It's perhaps this side of Gurinder the club will miss the most, he's the ultimate club man who had genuine care for the club and his teammates. Everyone at KDCC wish Gurinder all the very best of luck with his endeavours in QLD and he'll always be welcomed back at the Twin Ovals! 23.01.2022 LJ HOOKER PLAYER OF THE ROUND! Congratulations goes to Lincoln Street and Nic Shelverton on their great performances in their last round game. Lincoln put a great display of batting on for his side. When they needed a big knock from the middle order batsmen, he definitely showed his ability with bat in hand! His tremendous 102 off 86 balls led the third grade innings to a great total to defend! Well done Linc keep the runs coming!!! ... Nic was thrown the ball when his side needed to get some wickets falling and he didn’t disappoint running through the Uni line up and claiming 5/22 off 6.2 overs. Shelvo is a player who never misses a training run and it’s so good to see him getting the results he deserves! Great stuff Shelvo! ***Each winner will receive a $50 Cricket Hub voucher kindly donated by Mark Divin and his team. Thanks to the Cricket Hub for the continued support!*** #LJHOOKERKNIGHTS #KNIGHTSCRICKET

22.01.2022 KEEP TO SIT OUT 2020/21 SEASON 2019/20 Emerson Rodwell Medalist and First Grade Captain Trent Keep has made the difficult decision to sit out the 2020/21 CTPL season due to medical conditions and professional medical advice. Trent has had ongoing medical specialist advice over the off season regarding concussions and other conditions resulting from this. The outcome being that it’s in his best interests to step aside and focus on his rehabilitation and recovery for his quali...ty of life to return. Trent thanks all involved at the club and community for their support and messages in this difficult time and hopes to still be involved and supporting the club in some capacity this season. The club wish Trent all the very best with his recovery and will support him through this difficult and tough time. 20.01.2022 COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT - MAHER TO COACH THE KNIGHTS! KDCC are pleased to announce the signing of Adam Maher as club coach for the 2020/21 season and beyond. Adam is a modern day legend of KDCC having moved from Sydney/Newcastle for a Tigers contract and joining the Knights for a 8 year playing career. As an accomplished cricketer and coach Adam offers our club great leadership, he demands respect and effort from the group as he knows success will come from it. His coaching w...ork last year as a senior assistant was first class, as he pushed all grades into finals until COVID-19 cut short our finals campaign. Adam played 21 first class games with Tasmania, taking 67 wickets at an impressive 26.8. As a Tiger, Adam was also a part of the Sheffield Shield title in 2010/11. During Adam's playing career at Kingborough and even when contracted he showed great passion for the club. Post his Tiger career Adam stayed with the Knights as Club Captain and steered our 1st Grade side to our last premiership in season 2014/15. After retiring from premier cricket Adam joined the Slab Road Cricket Club in the Huon Channel Cricket Association as playing Club Coach, through his three season period at Slab Road they claimed the 2016/17 A Grade premiership and were a very successful club. A message from Adam - "I'm really excited to be in this role and work with the players again in season 2020/21. With continued hard work as a group and individuals we will push for success this upcoming season" Adam has already been hard at work setting up preseason plan and instilling a leadership group to drive the club forward this season. We can’t wait to see Adam and the boys back on the track this upcoming pre season. More coaching and pre season news coming soon..... #knightscricket #ljhookerknights

19.01.2022 *KINGBOROUGH WHITE VS KINGBOROUGH BLUE MATCH REPORT* It is great to see our juniors going so well on Monday and Wednesday nights. Here is a match report from Monday night's Stage 1 clash between Kingborough White and Kingborough Blue. Credit must go to Nathan Webb who has provided us with this great read! Go Knights!... ------------------------------- Kingborough White Captain Koby Coulson on his birthday won the toss and elected to bat on a windy night at Sherburd Park. After some solid contributions early, Kingborough White started to get going with Ben Oliver and Thomas Webb top scoring. Once again, we came up against a fast and accurate bowling unit and I was extremely proud of the boys in getting behind the ball and not taking a backward step. This resulted in everyone playing some good attacking shot’s as well as getting in behind the ball and playing their defensive shots. Our running between the wickets wasn’t as good as the previous weeks game but we’ll learn from that and get back to where the boys were loving their quick singles and looking for two’s. The Kingborough Blue team started their chase slowly with some excellent new ball bowling with Seth Butler and Jack Ransom taking 1 wicket each with all other bowlers creating chances of their own. Our fielding has been outstanding, backing up the throws that come into the bowlers and keepers’ ends have come along way since the start. The highlight of the night was Aiden Bluetts’ near screamer in the outfield. With the coming to him high and fast Aiden got both hands to the ball and nearly holding on. For one of the youngest boys in our side, it was awesome to see him not shy away from a hard-ball. Seth Butler and Oliver Bluett were sharp behind the stumps with very little getting through. Thanks, Kingborough White Coach - Nathan Webb #ljhookerknights #knightscricket
