24.01.2022 We welcomed back Adam Hrehoresin after several months away due to the current global climate. Our keepers loved working with him, and here are a few clips to highlight some of their more spectacular saves from yesterday's session. Enjoy and have an awesome weekend.

23.01.2022 A very informative article that sheds some light into a topic that concerns many parents and players in Victoria as well. What are your thoughts? https://www.smh.com.au//winning-at-any-cost-inside-the-cut

22.01.2022 This fine Thursday morning we wish year 12 student Navleen a safe and enjoyable trip to Tasmania with her clubside, Calder United. Nav will be representing her under 19s team against the Tasmanian state squad in Launceston at 1:45pm. We know that Nav will enjoy the experience and give it her best on the field like she always does. Safe travels Navleen! #kdcss #kdc #keilordowns #keilordownssoccerschool #keilordownscollege #soccerlove #calderunitedsc #soccerpassion #soccerschool #soccergirl #brimbank #melbourne #soccer #footballlife

22.01.2022 Sometimes we forget how lucky we are. Appreciate life, play football and be humble.

20.01.2022 1v2 in the middle with 4 outside players. Can the middle player lose their opponents and link up with their team?

16.01.2022 Pressure. When we didn't tell our year 9s that we were filming, their combinations and execution was much better. As soon as we told them that this is for Instagram, the perceived pressure went up and it impacted on their ability to perform this simple combination. How do you overcome it? You learn to deal with it and eventually thrive under pressure like a diamond that was once a humble piece of coal.

15.01.2022 One of the greatest aspects of our program will always be the connection between the students and the coaches. For those that went the distance, six years growing together and teaching us how to be better teachers and coaches has made us far more accomplished in our teaching methods for future generations. This year's kids get a far better product than the students in this picture, because if we are to preach 'growth mindset', 'making mistakes' and 'learning from failure', then we must do it ourselves. We are so proud of the ones that went the full six years with us, but also of the ones that enriched our lives for a portion of that time.

14.01.2022 Our year 12 Premier League Cup captain Ayah Karim doing great things for women's football in Victoria. Not only does Ayah play at senior level at St. Albans Saints in the State League One competition, but she also coaches the under 13/14 girls at St. Albans and is completing her year 12 VCE studies. Recently she undertook some training for the Football Victoria Go Girls and GoMums soccer programs and is looking forward to delivering content for aspiring young girls to fall in love with the game that she has fallen in love with. https://brimbanknorthwest.starweekly.com.au//soccer_2335/

09.01.2022 A snapshot of part of a session to encourage bravery to receive the ball and to make space in a tough 1v2 situation. Intense work, extreme concentration, and lighting fast decision making are just some of the elements that this brilliant little activity helps to develop in players of all ages and abilities. At the Keilor Downs College Soccer School, playing in tight spaces is a major focus of the development of our players, and we are always looking at ways of making the challenge adequate to take them out of a comfort zone and develop the neurplasticity of the brain. Strong and frequent activation, equals changes in the synaptic structure and the habit or connection then strengthens. As a result of this, we should see a sharper, faster thinking and faster reacting player because the autonomy kicks in. Have a great Tuesday followers!

08.01.2022 Highly recommend that all parents of soccer-loving children register for this presentation by Tom Byer, a world-renowned youth coach that has written the brilliant book, 'Football Starts at home'. Tom's main focus will be on Miniroos ages and helping parents and coaches to support the development of environments which encourage players to fall in love with the game. 07.01.2022 Rest in peace Diego

06.01.2022 Anterior cruciate injuries happen 2.8 times more in female soccer players in comparison to male soccer players. In this warm up to a session focused on defensive body positioning and movement, our year 7 and 8 girls work on improving their mobility when defending and later, turning and chasing.

04.01.2022 Having an orchestra with the ten best guitarists, but no pianist, is not a good thing. Manuel Pellegrini. During training, the players’ decision-making processes should be shaped in such a way that top-down and bottom-up processes are made possible through structuring of the learning situation. In this context, bottom-up processes apply to training the ability to differentiate relevant from non-relevant situational characteristics with instructions to the information sources. Top-down processes involve the player’s options for developing the appropriate methods for structuring the situation, including instructions that help resolve situations in a game or in training.

01.01.2022 Today our Year 8 and 9 girls training involved a Hexagonal Rondo. Outside players were the vital link to the central players who attempted to combine and create third man runs to score a goal. Look forward to more sessions with them and gauge their progress
