What to expect: - Keynote presentations from renowned experts, including: having courageous conversations on farm to help foster effective communication for good business decisions and even better relationships plus the topics and challenges that are facing agriculture in the next 50 years and what young farmers should be doing to ensure they can handle them. - In addition to the keynotes, most of the event will be based on the stories and experiences of Wimmera and Mallee farming families. This will include panel discussions with farmers partners, farmers in representative roles, farmers who had to take the farm reins at a young age, plus a you cant ask that session where we ask some tough and amusing questions for an enlightening warts and all look at relationships on farm. - Plenty of networking time this event plans to bring together participants from seven GAPP discussion groups (and their families) from right across the Wimmera and Mallee. The Hindmarsh Landcare Network (HLN) are seeking expression of interest from landowners throughout the Lawloit area to participate within the Lawloit Range Bio-Link Project. The aim is to plant local native species back into the area on any type of landscape, this could be unproductive land that is in need of rehabilitation, enhance a remnant area or to develop a shelter belt. To make improving your area as easy as possible the project will cover the expense of plants and guards, fencing materials, and host a major volunteer planting weekend Project Hindmarsh in 2021. 21.01.2022 The Hindmarsh Landcare Network and Parks Vic have secured funding to deliver The Wimmera River Revegetation Project, which will be delivered over three years. The project aims to restore and protect 200 hectares of land from Lake Hindmarsh through to Dimboola. Funding is available for revegetation, fencing materials and pest/weed control. This project is part of the Victorian Governments Biodiversity Response Planning strategy, and funded with the support of the Victorian Government.

15.01.2022 TELOPEA IS MISSING!! Theres been some suspected sheep thieving out west ...but not of the usual kind. Kanivas flock of colourful fibreglass sheep is a majo...r trourist drawcard. The individually painted models each tell a story or give a link to a place or community group. Now one of the towns newest sheep art additions, called "Telopea" has gone missing from the Kaniva Wetlands and Fauna Park. It is believed to have been removed between 4.45-8pm on Wednesday. anyone with information should contact the Kaniva Police Station. See more
