13.01.2022 The Association is seeking clarity on today’s easing of restriction announcement. Massage therapy, remedial massage and myotherapy has not been directly quoted. Massage & Myotherapy Australia will release more information as soon as possible.

13.01.2022 An excerpt from a letter received from the Massage & Myotherapy Association this morning: "The Chief Allied Health Officer indicated she was not able to confirm whether or not massage, remedial massage or myotherapy are able to return to routine services and that she is trying to clarify this. At this point in time she advised that our members are not to commence routine services until confirmation is received and it is important to note that the announcements have provided ...some easing of restrictions but it is not a formal move to the Third Step. Further correspondence has been forwarded to the Chief Allied Health Officer this morning requesting massage, remedial massage and myotherapy be included in the easing of restrictions. Please be assured we are doing everything we can to obtain clarity and to support our metropolitan Melbourne members."

08.01.2022 Important Update Further to my post this morning, I now have confirmation that I CANNOT recommence at this time. Please see the following excerpt from the latest communication: "we have now received confirmation from the Chief Allied Officer that massage therapy, remedial massage therapy and myotherapy are not included in the easing of restrictions this means that you are unable to return to routine services at this time."... Sorry guys :(

07.01.2022 Update on Mobile Massage in Metropolitan Melbourne from Massage & Myotherapy Australia. The Chief Allied Health Officer has confirmed that mobile massage services are allowed to operate in metropolitan Melbourne as long as all proper hygiene and infection control protocols are being adhered to. However, there is one further restriction that mobile massage therapists and their clients need to adhere to: a visit by a mobile massage therapist to a residence counts as that reside...nce's one permitted visit per day. (Note: this does not mean that a mobile massage therapist can only visit one residence per day, but that a residence is only allowed to have one permitted visit per day, including from a mobile massage therapist.) Mobile massage therapists in metropolitan Melbourne will need to inform clients that your visit to them is counted as their one permitted visit per day. We also advise updating your informed consent to ask if there have already been any visitors to the residence on the day of treatment. The Association is monitoring the situation and the Government notifications on a daily basis and will continue to update members accordingly.

06.01.2022 Just a reminder that I am closed next week. From Monday 19th April normal hours will resume. I will also be available for appointments Tuesdays from 9:30-2pm, that means you can now get a massage Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri and alternate Saturdays! 04.01.2022 I apologise to anyone that is having trouble claiming through their health fund. This should not be happening and I assure you that I am still registered. I will get onto this ASAP and sort it out. Perhaps give it a few days before trying again, give me time to get it sorted. Thanks for your understanding.

01.01.2022 COVID update After listening to the premiers press conference I am not 100% clear on whether I can return to work this week. It does sound like it may be the November 1st date that applies to KDM Massage. I will however contact my massage association tomorrow and clarify as there is a chance that they may include remedial massage and myotherapy with "all allied health services"....fingers crossed. I will update you all asap.
